Skylark Meadows Malvern

Skylark Meadows Malvern

Skylark Meadows is the latest phase of development from Charles Church in a beautiful area to the north of Great Malvern and offers a range of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom family homes. From here you can quickly get up to the fresh air of the hills and experience some of England’s grandest views. Great Malvern is largely Victorian but its roots go back much further. Iron and Bronze Age forts and tracks ran along the hills and until the Middle Ages there were still was only a collection of small cottages here. The oldest parts of the town can be seen around the Priory Church which was founded in 1085 when Benedictine monks settled here and built a Priory at the foot of the Malvern Hills. The Priory is a cathedral-sized wonder of English medieval architecture, with many treasures to reveal; massive Norman pillars, a huge famous east window, misericord seats carved with lively and entertaining scenes, tiles in many designs, manufactured by the monks. During the 19th century Malvern developed rapidly from a village to a sprawling conurbation owing to its popularity as a hydrotherapy spa based on the therapeutic qualities attributed to its spring waters. The growing influx of visitors necessitated accommodation, information and social recreation to rival such centres as Bath and Cheltenham.

Following the decline of spa tourism towards the end of the 19th century, the town's focus shifted to education with the establishment of several private boarding schools in former hotels and large villas. The Malvern area still offers a first-class choice of highly-regarded state and independent schools and colleges, including the renowned Malvern College and Malvern St. James. Although you can no longer take the water cure in Malvern, many of the impressive buildings are still in use as public buildings and evidence of the springs remains too. St. Ann's Well and Holy Well are tucked away in valleys, but in and around the Malverns some springs are well restored like the Beauchamp Spout in Cowleigh Road or the well known fountain, Malvhina, at Belle Vue Island. George Bernard Shaw and Edward Elgar brought Great Malvern into the 20th Century with their music and theatre festivals held in the Winter Gardens and these traditions live on today. There is now a new theatre complex overlooking Priory Park with the Edwardian building transformed into one of Britain's most enjoyed and popular provincial cultural centres.

The Name on the Finest Homes What is the indefinable quality about a Charles Church home that makes it so special, and makes so many aspire to owning one?

When Charles and Susanna Church laid the foundations of their first home in 1965, they were doing more than building a desirable residence. They were turning their vision of the perfect home into a benchmark for quality and a legacy for future generations to appreciate. Over four decades later, their principles remain the cornerstone of every home we build and it is the firm emphasis of the Group to combine quality with aesthetically pleasing designs and traditional building techniques. This philosophy has led us to enjoy an unrivalled reputation for over forty years. We pride ourselves not only on providing excellent examples of traditional construction and craftsmanship but also on the elegance and character of our homes which are designed to harmonise with their natural surroundings. We utilise fully the interior space of our homes combining every modern and efficient convenience within classic, timeless and elegant exteriors.

We recognise the importance of providing our customers with the opportunity to add character to their home through a wide choice of colour schemes, making certain that quality, service and value are inherent in all we undertake. We also have a clear and practical approach to sustainability and fully support the Government's Code for Sustainable Homes. The national code standards are an important factor in the way we build and design both our developments and our homes. Our exacting standards and attention to detail at every stage of the construction process play an integral part in achieving a totally unmistakable quality and sense of style. This unique combination of principles ensures that our homes and developments continue to win an ever increasing number of prestigious consumer, industry and media awards. The ultimate winner however, is the buyer of a Charles Church home.
