Make yourself at home in Brill. Quality of life is about the details of everyday living. From the little things, like knowing the nearest place to pick up a pint of milk, to more important matters like finding the right school or having a health centre nearby, you need to know that the community you’re moving to will support you and your family, as well as be a pleasant place to live. So here’s some useful information about the area around Miller View. Village life Brill has a strong sense of local pride and an active, lively community life covering activities from golfing to bell-ringing. The Common, which lies just to the west of Miller View and contains the Windmill as well as an environmental education centre, is a popular and well-used local resource. Consisting of around 30 hectares of mixed terrain that provides a habitat for an assortment of wildlife, The Common is looked after by a group of volunteers. The village has several youth organisations for children of five and over, and Brill Memorial Hall in the village centre is used for a wide variety of classes and events, from mums and toddlers groups, dances and keep fit classes through to antiques fairs and auctions. There are two traditional pubs in Brill, The Pheasant Inn which is just a few minutes walk from Miller View and The Red Lion near the village green. The local newsagent, also sells food, drink, stationery and household items, and there is a unisex hairdresser in Church Street. For a wider choice of shopping, Thame has a traditional market town ambience with a wealth of local shops, as well as a Waitrose supermarket, while Bicester and Aylesbury both offer a choice of high street names and shopping malls. Located within the village, it welcomes children of all faiths or none, and places a strong emphasis on its links with parents and the local community. In addition to the formal curriculum, it provides breakfast and after school clubs and a wide choice of additional activities from music and dance to cooking and computing. Pupils from Brill normally move on to Lord William’s School, a Sports and Community College in nearby Thame, or Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School in Aylesbury.

Sport and leisure The Brill Sports and Social Club organises football and cricket teams, both of which play in local leagues, and there are also tennis, table tennis facilities and clubhouse facilities. With many friendly and informal games as well as league fixtures, the Club welcomes players of all abilities. There is a leisure centre in Thame with Technogym equipment, a sports hall and a swimming pool, and Miller View is just around ten minutes drive from Magnolia Park Golf and Country Club, where a challenging 18-hole course is presented alongside facilities of the highest standards.
