In this text, John encourages us to do more than just preach but to do the works of Christ. Jesus, the Bible tells us, was moved with compassion. Mother Teresa of Calcutta is one of my mentors from afar. In more than seventy years of selfless service, Mother Teresa dedicated herself to sheltering the homeless, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick and comforting the dying. The June issue of Life At Its Best highlights Random Acts of Kindness from everyday people like you and me. The grace and love shown through the smallest gestures of love is an antidote for a weary world. It is my prayer that these stories compel you to action. Make New Hope a city on a hill that Jesus talked about – a community of salt and light – where one and all can feel that they are loved through the Jesus that lives in us. Let’s live for a reason…to give away to someone else what God has done for you. “The best portion of a good man’s life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.” William Wordsworth (1770-1850); poet.

“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:16-18 NKJV)

No doubt about it, 2009 is tough. Yet tough economic times are great opportunities for the church to shine. History tells us when times are hard, people will be much more open to “try church.” I know many of us were brought to Christ during a challenging time. We must be prepared to give both the message of hope and a helping hand to those who come.

ne of our most important assignments is making our families strong. When there is a fracture, we should repair it. When a relationship is broken, let’s bring it together. The family is one of the oldest institutions known to mankind. Although we live in such an advanced society, we still have problems communicating within our families. We need to tutor our children wisely, and we as God’s people, need to have answers. It’s time to take leadership. This message is for fathers primarily, but this is a word for any man: As God’s men, we need to stand up and take leadership. We need to join in the fight and take up the mantle of responsibility that God has given to us. At the same time, this is a word for women, parents, sons, daughters, grandfathers, and grandmothers. How do we see what we can do and hope for the future? Here are two things that will help us hit it squarely so that we can develop families of success.
PARENTS SET THE CULTURE OF THE HOME
E
very home has a culture. It may not be the one you want, but you’ve got to nurture and cultivate that culture. Do we want it to be one of faith, to teach the ways of God? If we just fertilize and water a plot of ground, what is it going to produce? Very healthy weeds! But if we want to have an orchard of oranges, what kind of seeds do we plant? Orange seeds! If we want an orange crop, we have to pull out everything that isn’t an orange plant and plant only orange seeds. The same is true with the home. We set the culture and decide what kind of orchard we are going to have.
“
…Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good. Make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad (Matt 12:33 NIV).
”
Parents, we’ve also got to lovingly enforce God’s standards for life and blessing.
We have to model our faith in our homes, because our greatest influence and our greatest contribution may be in the next generation, not in this one. What really matters is what others do because of what we have done. God is saying that one of the most important legacies we leave is how we lived. So, we must first establish the culture of our household. Parents, we do that with our lifestyle, our words, our parameters, and by correcting and pulling out wrong seeds. We need to build a trust in the Lord in our kids and to make sure that we are speaking rightly. I’m speaking this to dads: it’s our responsibility—not the wife’s, not the kids’—a responsibility that God has given to us, to nullify or lovingly enforce those boundaries. It’s a spiritual mantle from God. May I encourage you men in this new season? Know that God has given you a wonderful mantle of authority for good.
ESTABLISH A FAITH THAT IS “NATURAL”
“
Natural is something that comes from your heart.
These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way… (Deut 6:6-7).
”
God is saying that talking about our faith and the things of God should be as natural as just talking about something that’s on our heart.
And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is this?’ then you shall say to him, ‘With a powerful hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery’ (Ex 13:14).
”
I want you to establish a culture that trains your children to live genuinely. They will follow your footsteps. Some years ago, when Aaron was about four years old, I was walking on the sands of Hanalei, Kauai. It was a beautiful morning, and I looked back, and here was this little boy trying to match my footsteps in the sand. I thought that was funny so, like a good dad, I stretched out my footsteps to see how he would do. He just jumped from one footstep to the next. Then I realized that he is going to be doing that for a long time. How I naturally walked would be what he would strive to become. I realized that I had to make who I was naturally something that was good because that’s what he was going to try to be. We will reach the world by reaching our families. Concentrate on being the man/woman of God that He designed you to be. Don’t let the devil cause you to be passive. Take the loving authority, the place and the position that God has given you. When we do that, we will be surprised at the legacy we leave to those who come behind us, because when we reach our families, we will reach the world.

One of the greatest things to talk about with your children is what God has done in your life; how He has delivered you; how He has helped you to grow as a person; how He has helped you.

WAYS TO SERVE
TENTMAKERS MINISTRY By Donna Mae Katsura
The blaring sound of my alarm clock awoke me early one cold Saturday
morning from the comfort of sleep. The digital display read 5:00 AM. I got out of bed on a chilly winter Hawaiian morning to meet up with the Tentmakers at 5:30 AM to take photos for a ministry fair. This ministry sets up the large outdoor white tents for the weekend services at Farrington High School. “Routine stuff,” I thought as I drove to Farrington in the still of the morning.

Beloved Tentmakers: Thank you for your faithfulness. In spite of the dwindling number of servants, you have proven to be steadfast, immovable, knowing that your labor in the Lord has not been in vain. God bless you!

this huge tent was up and ready for service. The team gathered around the tent with smiles and hugs and prayed once again for the anointing of those that would be sitting underneath at service that weekend. Even now, as I write this months later, when I think about those hearts and those wonderful servants of God, it still brings tears to my eyes. This “silent” team exemplifies the heart behind New Hope. In everything we do, including setting up tents and the grounds at Farrington for church, everything is connected to a soul.

I parked at Farrington, arriving there a few minutes late. I peered into the dark of the front lawn and saw the tentmakers, Frances Nojiri and her team, working in the shadows with only a little light shining from the lanai of the main building. I stayed up on the lanai watching them as they huddled in prayer, giving thanks to the Lord for allowing them the opportunity to serve Him. They unloaded trucks with the different parts of the tents: poles, canvas, and connector parts - one by one ...gently and with humbled hearts set before Jesus. This little team is made up of mostly women and their children! As I watched them, tears flowed from my eyes as I saw their hearts. This team serves diligently each and every weekend serves with such joy! They quietly joked with each other, having fun in the dim light. It amazed me to see how quickly the darkness of night turned to a glorious Saturday morning. Before we knew it,
The Old Testament Books for June
Here are some questions that you can use while doing your daily devotions. Also, there is a short description of the main characters that play important roles in these stories. All this will help you go deeper and understand a little more of the message that God is trying to teach you.
1 and 2 Kings 2 Chronicles Ecclesiastes Song of Solomon Joel Jonah Amos
The New Testament Books for June
Journaling
Ephesians Philippians Colossians 1 and 2 Timothy Titus
Why are these books important?
These books were originally written as letters from the Apostle Paul to Christians in particular cities and to specific individuals he was mentoring. They provide insight and clues as to how we are to be mentored and how we can mentor others in the Christian faith. We discover amazing truths about the emerging church in Ephesus, learn from the first church founded in Europe (Philippi) by Paul, and celebrate the second generation church plant in Colossae, not founded by Paul, but by his disciples.
Who are the main characters?
Paul is the central author and figure in these
letters, some of which were written while he was in prison. In the crucible of a cell, Paul learned what it meant to serve faithfully through the power of his words and letters that reached the church outside of the prison walls.
Why are these books important?
The historical books of Kings and Chronicles tell the story of how our hearts for God must be guarded well. These books tell specifically the story of how the nations were united and divided. We are challenged to be diligent in our allegiance to God. The Song tells the story of God’s love for Israel, or Christ’s love for His Church. Both are books of wisdom that teach us deeper truths to help us make bold decisions in our lives. Joel, Jonah, and Amos are three of the twelve minor prophets of the Bible that encourage us to follow God’s heart and bring His saving love and grace to others.
Timothy was a young man who was men-
tored in the Christian faith by Paul. Paul calls him “my true child in the faith.” Timothy was encouraged to discipline his life, not so much in his body, but in his soul and heart. He was also supported by Paul even though he was younger than most because Paul recognized in Timothy the spiritual gifts that were within him.

Joel was a prophet who called for a change of

Prospering God’s Way Pro spering God’s Way
S
Amos 1:13, 2:6 “… for the sons of Ammon … I will not revoke its punishment because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to enlarge their borders … and for Israel … I will not revoke its punishment, because they sell the righteous for money … and pant after the very dust of the Earth on the head of the helpless.”
O A
Some of God’s strictest punishments came because of the craving to prosper and to gain more money by selling out the righteous. Most people want to prosper, succeed, and have a life that is fruitful. The way that life is gained is incredibly important—cheating to get a trophy, or stealing a trophy is worthless! Prospering at the expense of another is what the nations were doing, and God’s prophetic judgments began to rain down. This by no means indicates that we should not prosper. John 15:8, III John 2 and Jer. 29:11 all tell us God’s heart is for us to prosper, but we must do it God’s way. There are various ways to gain: by stealth or through integrity, through doing “business” or by being “righteous.” We must choose by which route we will navigate our lives, our ministries, and our families. I am reminded in Mt. 15:13: “Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.” That one Scripture instructs me to be sure that everything I plant and everything I do has God’s seal of approval on it or it will be uprooted. To gain by any means other than through God’s very best is futile!
P
Thank You Father for a timely reminder to keep my hand to the plow and my heart to what You’ve called me to do. In doing that, I find my greatest joy! I will continue to do what I love to do—what You asked of me—and I will see Your fruit born in Your time. For it is the blessings of the Lord that makes us rich and He adds no sorrow to it! (Proverbs 10:22) When we gain any other way, it comes with sorrow attached. When done Your way, joy is included.

When I look at what I am doing now, I know that all of it couldn’t be done without the Moses: The Prince of Egypt musical. I am very thankful that Uncle Dane chose me to be a part of that experience. He is one of the mentors that I look up to. Others include Aunty Bonnie, Aunty Dessy, Aunty Gale, Aunty Rona, Aunty Luisa, and Mrs. Gomes who recently went to dance for the Lord in heaven. This musical changed my life because I made lifetime friends, increased my involvement with church and got to know people of the Lord that mentor me. My friends, Laney, Malia, and Tiera, helped me through a lot of things that were going on in my life. A lot of it had to do with putting up with people at school who gave me a hard time. But in the end, God blessed me by putting me in a bigger school with bigger challenges. There is a lot of temptation to go off the right path. But my friends, mentors, and family members always pull me back. When I first started serving at New Hope, I was a singer at Pier 45 and Superchurch. I slowly progressed into doing what I do now. Whenever I am serving the Lord, the ultimate blessing comes from learning that I’ve ministered to ONE person out of thousands. Sharing God’s love through song and dance is a ministry I hope to carry through my lifetime.

I truly believe this verse is one of the most inspirational verses in the Bible. This verse has inspired me to serve God through my life.
G E M S A L O N G T H E W A Y
How Many Times? My dear son Aaron: For some time now I’ve been telling you not to rub your eyes with dirty hands. Well, you did, and your eyes became red and infected. When I saw you, I was so exasperated. “How many times does your father have to tell you something before you listen?” I asked you. I guess you’ve heard that question a lot over the years. Recently I found out how unpleasant it is to be scolded that way. You know how often I’ve encouraged young people to pray. Yet in the midst of our busy summer schedule, I found I was praying very little. On three occasions the Lord challenged me to get back on track with my prayer life. I was golfing the other day with another pastor. He said, “I heard that ministers of growing churches pray on the average 45 minutes a day, but pastors of mediocre ones pray on the average of only three minutes a day.” At that moment, it was as if the Father’s voice split the clouds and said, “Wayne, how many times does your Father have to tell you something before you listen?” I’ve been enjoying my quiet times lately. I’m back in the groove, but the Lord has to break through my dull ears. Listen carefully to what Jesus is saying. Listen closely to His voice. He is giving you directions each day. Learning to listen, Dad P.S. …and quit rubbing your eyes! Excerpt taken from Gems Along the Way © 1997 by Wayne Cordeiro

A Master Plan: Serving God’s Family at Home by Sarah Platte
When architect Brian Shiraki began to
design and draw up plans for the Hawaii Kai home of Drs. Robin Lee and Melanie Takata, he prayed earnestly that this would be a house of ministry and blessing to others. Little did he know, God would answer his prayers mightily. Shiraki’s young clients were also new believers and recently began attending his church, New Hope Christian Fellowship.
T
he home ministry started slowly, with a simple family Bible Study. They opened their home for occasional meetings and halau rehearsals. Then when New Hope launched the new Hawaii Kai campus at Kaiser, the couple began volunteering in Levites, and the requests for the use of their home increased. It served as the sewing room for Children’s Ark projects and a place to assemble hundreds of Child International Christmas Shoe Boxes. God opened more doors, and they kept walking through them. A few years ago they hosted a Christian Easter Egg hunt, where children open eggs with clues about the resurrection story. This has become an annual tradition. When their daughter Kaitlin went to the 5th grade, they branched out with an “Ignite night,” opening up their home for an overnight “camp.” They are also known to offer sleepovers for kids whose parents need/deserve a night out, and the Couples Ministry meets at their home for the Christian movie “Fireproof.”
But it wasn’t always this way. When the couple first started to attend New Hope nine years ago, Melanie got excited about the bulletin announcement requesting homes for small groups. But Robin was reluctant. “I was a new believer, just a couple of months. Rather than embracing the idea, I put up a fight,” he said. Looking back, Melanie says “The bulletin message was a God-made appointment for me.” urprise blessings? There are many. Like seeing Robin dress up as the Easter Bunny to tell the little ones about Jesus. Melanie strongly encourages other families to try opening up their home. And don’t fret if you don’t have a picture—perfect house. So what’s next?
S
“I’m thinking about a regular movie night in our garage with families and then have a guided discussion with the kids.” Robin marvels at the ministry God is doing in their home, which started with a godly architect’s prayer.
M
elanie gets her ideas from all sorts of Christian media. “I am not a great teacher, so I am frequently browsing the bookstores and websites, family magazines and radio programs for fun activities to do with the kids. “It’s a bit easier when the kids are about the same age, since it is easier to organize activities and direct teachable moments. Don’t stress too much about it, just pray and trust that God will bring those who He knows who need the refuge.”

2009 is 25 years 2009 of Ministry for New Hope in Hawaii Since 1995, New Hope has been growing in size and scope, and this movement shows no signs of slowing down. Over 23,000 attended the Easter celebrations at the Blaisdell, and in the last month, over 1300 have given their lives to Christ. Whenever God intends to do something great, He begins with leaders… young men and women who have a heart for Christ, a willingness to increase in knowledge and wisdom, and a desire to grow in the skills and competence. As a network of churches and satellites, New Hope on the island of Oahu continues to reach the state as a constellation of colleagues all committed to reaching people for Christ and seeing individuals, families, relationships, and marriages become all God intended for them to be. As an alliance of churches, New Hope continues to bring out the best in people as they are ushered to God. Each campus, with its own local distinctives, is committed to excellence in biblical knowledge, leadership, and welcoming the Presence of God into each activity. “Each campus differs from the others, but we are all the same in certain irreducible principles that honor God and build His people,” says founder and pastor, Wayne Cordeiro. “Together, we remain committed to make a difference … one life at a time!”

Tommy Walker by Guy Higashi
With his newest worship offering “I Have A Hope,” Tommy Walker, a songwriter and worship leader for more than 15 years, weaves Biblically-based messages of determination, hope, trust, and grace into a Spiritcharged proclamation of doing just that, giving all glory to God. Walker, who has served as a worship leader at his home church since 1990, has traveled with internationally recognized evangelical movements such as Promise Keepers, Greg Laurie Harvest Crusades and Franklin Graham Crusades. His songs have been sung by millions of people worldwide; in fact, more than 100 of his songs are currently ranked on the CCLI (Christian
Spirit of Aloha Special Guest Artist
Copyright Licensing of America) Chart. After releasing eight live recordings, “I Have A Hope” marks his first-ever nationally released studio project. Collaborating with the talents of award-winning producer Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Caedmon’s Call, Bebo Norman), Walker is stepping off the stage and into the studio, capturing moments of inspiring, spirit-filled praise. “Nothing motivates me more than to write and lead a song and get to watch that person in the second row become overwhelmed with the love and power of God! My life mission statement is to inspire all people to become passionate worshippers of the most high God; therefore, I strive to write songs that can captivate the rich, poor, black, white, saved and seeker.” Walker wanted to discover a way to teach his children about missions here in our community. He asked me to take him to a feeding program in Pasadena, California ,that I had been a part of. On the title track, Tommy proclaims, “There’s still hope for me today, for the God of Heaven loves me!” Inspired by the homeless he served through a church ministry, “I Have A Hope” was written as a declaration of the promise God gave to His people. A promise that there is no depth of despair He can’t rescue them from. “I was so taken with the hopelessness in their eyes. They looked as if they had given up on life. I thought, Lord, what is it that you would want to say to them? Then I had the idea to write a song that would help them and other destitute people declare the promises of God over their life,” says Walker. “It is one thing to have someone tell you that there’s hope, it’s another when the words of hope and promise are spoken out of your own mouth with a sense of faith and God’s assurance.” In fact, it was this very tune that first drew renowned producer Ed Cash to work on the project. “The song “I Have A Hope” touches the deepest part of my soul,” reveals Cash. It was while I was listening to the bridge on the original demo of just Tommy and his guitar that the Lord told me to do this record. I was driving around and when that moment hit, I literally broke out in tears of praise and joy. JUNE 2009 Life@itsBest

Marinating Sauce: 3 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce 1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar 1 Tablespoon Hickory Smoke Barbeque Sauce 1 Tablespoon Minced Rosemary ½ teaspoon Hawaiian Season Salt 1 Fresh Squeezed Lime 1 Nice Sized Rack of Australian Lamb

Recipe: Mix all the marinating ingredients well. Put the rack of lamb in a plastic bag. (Gallon size zip lock works well.) Squeeze all the air out of the bag and add most of the marinating sauce, reserving enough to brush on after cooking. Massage sauce into the lamb while in the bag. Let rack sit out for two hours, massaging several times. Preheat oven to 300°F. Place lamb in a low profile dish, or aluminum foil, with ribs facing up and fatty part down. Precook for 30 minutes (medium rare) to an hour (medium). Turn over rack, fatty part up, and brush with sauce. Set oven to broil and cook until fat is blackened and the brown sugar caramelizes. Carefully watch lamb, it will cook quickly. When done, remove from oven, brush with sauce, and sprinkle with a little Hawaiian season salt. Serve. recipe by

hroughout His ministry, Jesus Christ performed many miracles and healings, and His disciples were witness to these events. But have you noticed that the disciples never once asked Jesus, “How on earth did you do that Jesus?” The disciples were first-hand witnesses to miracles such as Jesus feeding 5,000 with two fish and a few loaves of bread; healing the sick, seeing the lame walking after years of being crippled, and one of my favorites, Jesus spitting in mud, making mud-cakes for a blind man who regains his sight. Yet not once did the disciples ask Jesus, “Can you show me how to do that?” Except when they wanted to learn to pray. In Matthew 6, the disciples asked Jesus, “Teach us to pray”.
How To And Jesus responds to them: Pray

Always begin your prayer with praise. Praise Jesus not only according to how you feel, but according to His excellent greatness. Let Him know how great a God He is during good times and challenging times.

God is greater than whatever we are facing. I write down specific prayers that I believe in faith for God’s perfect will to be done, in my church, in the lives of my family and friends, and for those that God places in authority, especially for our government officials.

Matt. 6:11
Give us today our daily bread.
Matt. 6:12
Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Forgiveness is an incredible gift from God. We need to forgive those we have hurt and those that hurt us (yes, even those that offended and hurt us). Don’t allow the tiniest piece of bitterness to stay lodged in your heart.

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
As we pray, always remember that God wants us to come to Him for all our needs.
Matt. 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Picture yourself overcoming the sin while you pray, and confess aloud how you will respond to the temptation. And finally, from the New American Standard translation:
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.”
Here we come full circle: it’s time to once again to return praises unto the Lord and declare His power. JUNE 2009 Life@itsBest | 2 9
I
t was six weeks before our baby girl was due to arrive. I remember the moment vividly. The lights were dimmed perfectly, hands were raised to the heavens, voices shouting out to God, all being held in perfect union by the calm intensity of the music. But it wasn’t the harmonious interplay of these elements that got me, it was the lyrics being sung in praise, more specifically the word, the name…Father. Upon hearing God’s people cry out to their Heavenly Father, a thought smacked me right in the heart: “I’m going to be a Father. Someone is going to look me in the eyes and call me father. And how am I supposed to know what to do when the word father never passed through my lips?”
a father’s by Fred Alcain NewHope Music Director photo by Clint Torres
When Jana and I found out she was pregnant, we were overcome with joy. We prayed for the moment and were overwhelmed by the miraculous touch of God on our lives. We continued in excitement and anxiousness, counting down the days until the crowning of Princess Jillian Marley. But in the building anticipation of the birth of our child, a fear began to develop within me. It was a fear of inadequacy; it was selfdoubt. You see, I never really knew my father. Here I was, months away from being a father and having no clue as to what a father’s role was. How was I going to father a child when there was no example of fatherhood in my life for me to follow? How was I, the father, going to establish a relationship with, and love my child when I, as the child, had no relationship with my father?
His name was Trini. He was my grandfather. Everything I am today is a direct result of his love for me. He and my grandmother sacrificed so much of themselves so I would never feel abandoned or unloved. He would work all day only to come home to an excited child waiting on the porch steps to be taken to the park, and never once was I disappointed. He would sit with me for hours, making sure every note was perfect, every rhythm in sync with the metronome. In a time when he and my grandma should’ve been enjoying their “Golden Years,” my grandfather sacrificed to ensure my life would be golden. As I hold Jillian in the morning or when I get home, I remember my grandfather’s love and sacrifice. How his energy was boundless when it came to spending time with me. He and my grandma gave me everything I needed and more. When the time comes I’ll be able to sacrifice whatever I need to for my daughter, as I’m a first account witness to this type of love.

An Unconditional Love
I remember checking the message on my voicemail. The voice on the line was one I recognized right away, but the four words were completely foreign, “Fred, this is dad.” Four simple words that broke down difficult walls, four words that made me feel loved and taught me so much about how to love. After nine children, I guess you can’t help but develop an unconditional love. With nine different personalities, nine voices calling for attention and nine various wants and desires, it takes a strong minded and strong-hearted man to do the job. Gary Anguay my father-in-law, is both, and a little bit more. There are no conditions when it comes to his love, no expectations, no reservations. He offered his fatherhood to me unconditionally; all I needed to do was accept it. As I walked away, the moment was still fresh in my mind and heart. I thought about a line in a song I remember singing in Bible class that goes like this, “…because He first loved me.” Whatever doubt I have of my capabilities as a father still remain. But towering over this big question mark in my life are three giants, three God appointed men who sacrificed, nurtured and loved without condition. I know how to love my daughter because He first loved me and provided my personal trinity of Fathers to guide my way.

A Sacrificial Love
cultivated a culture of excellence without ever demanding it. He encouraged us to excel even more without ever compromising our values or beliefs. And when we fell short there was never a scolding or reprimand, instead a calm encouraging to pick up, get up and never give up. I have huge hopes and dreams for Jillian, dreams of academic prowess, musical genius and a great golf game. Through the values taught to me from her grandfather, my father, I’m confident that I’ve been resourced and prepared by the best to nurture her in a way that allows her to thrive in her pursuit of her hopes and dreams.

As the lights remained dimmed, hands and voices continuing in praise, and the crescendo of the music reaching an apex, I heard the voice of God whisper to my heart. “You are my son, I am your I am.” It was my Heavenly Father, present in the presence of His praises, calming my anxious heart and assuring me that I had all the example I would ever need of a father’s love. All I needed to do was look back on my life and remember how I came to be the person I am today. Although I don’t know my biological father, God provided amazing men in my life who have exampled theree qualities of fatherhood that I desperately cling to.

Parking cars, greeting with a smile, teaching children, giving out cup of coffee, turning on a light, setting up a tent, putting out a chair, giving out a Yes! packet, are a few of the many things you do each weekend. Without you, we would not be reaching our families, friends and communities with Christ’s love. Thank you! We are so grateful for the time and dedication you give to the Lord. It’s your joyful hearts that make Jesus shine at New Hope.
Random Acts of kindness Once in a while when my brother and I have gone out to lunch, he’d see a couple sitting at another table and say lets buy them lunch! So calling the waitress over he’s ask for their bill and he would pay for it...it’s fun because we imagine that when they ask for their bill, the waitress would point over to where we were sitting, but we’d be gone!
