LTG LETTER

Division 19 North, it has been a privilege serving you as your Lieutenant Governor for the past term. It is insanely crazy to think that I was a freshman who knew nothing about the world of serving. It’s even more crazy to realize that I’ve had so many memories and now, it’s time for goodbyes. Nobody is good at saying goodbye. It hurts and it definitely isn’t easy. But before I say goodbye, I have a few more words I’d like to share. To my friends, thank you for giving me support and listening to my endless rants about deadlines and submissions while I was a Vice-President all the way to Lieutenant Governor. To my advisors, thank you for attending events being given last minute notices. To my DLT, you guys have been amazing. We were there to go through this pandemic together and yet, we finished strong. To the members, trust me when I say this but if it weren’t for any of you, I would not be here. Thank you for riding this journey with me and although not everyone is ending their journey here, key club will always have a place in our hearts. To all of the underclassmen, my time has come as a member of Key Club and now that I am graduating and saying goodbye, I hope I motivated you to achieve your goals. I hope that I helped some of you gain interest in taking leadership positions in Key Club. It has been my honor to “raise” the new generation of Key Club even through a pandemic. Again, thank you so much Division 19 North and until we meet again, Goodbye!

Ryan Son D19N Lieutenant Governor 4

CLUBrecaps CAMS | CELESTE GASTELUM

In the month of March, CAMS Key Club held its last meeting of the 202021 term. While it’s saddening for seniors to say goodbye, it’s exciting to await the success and accomplishments of the club in the upcoming term. As the term comes to an end, the current board plans Officer Training for the newly elected leaders of CAMS Key Club. To share the excitement of both the ending and upcoming term, club members were educated and encouraged to attend District Convention from the comfort of their homes. We cannot wait to see Key Clubbers from all over the district and the extraordinary things that will be accomplished come the new term!

DA VINCI | ALYSSA HUBLER Ahoy penguins!! In the month of March, we had our elections on March 5th. Congrats to our new elected candidates, and a big congrats to our newly elected 2021-2022 President, Kimberly Lee! As the term comes to end, we are excited to see what next term brings for Da Vinci :)

GARDENA| CHRISTIAN VIRATA Ahoy Pirate Penguins! During the month of March, Gardena Key Club focused on electing the board for the 2021-2022 term. On March 16th we held our nominations where we nominated underclassmen who were willing to run for the future of our club who were asked to create a presentation & speech to then present on March 24th. We then hosted our election meeting and had more than half of our club attended and elected our new board. 6

HMSA| SOPHIA CASTELLANOS & PABLO GARCÍA Heyo Pirate Penguins, for the month of March, HMSA had 4 club meetings which discussed elections and officer positions. The last meeting we had elections for KeyClub and will be continuing on April 15 since we are currently spring break. While on spring break, Sophia Castellanos, further developed Project Helping Hand, to collect donations of clothes, food, and water for the homeless community. All HMSA officers were on board to meet at Del Aire Park to prepare for the event that will occur on April 2 and 5th. We hope you all are going well and staying icy!

LAWNDALE | ANGELA DELGADO Greetings Pirate Penguins! In the month of March, Lawndale Key Club focused on expanding our ongoing service events. Throughout the year, we’ve had several opportunities to write holiday letters for a greater cause. Back in December, we wrote holiday cards to fundraise for the Make-A-Wish foundation, and in February, we wrote Valentine Day cards for the patients of St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital and the Los Angeles Children’s Research Hospital. We found that our everyday service opportunities didn’t get as much attention, so we wanted to encourage our club members to write a card to show appreciation for our country’s servers through the websites “Write-A-Soldier” and “Letters for Leaders.” As always, we continue to get some exercise into our daily routine while using the Charity Miles app to raise funds for UNICEF with every step we take.
