COMMENT OF THE WEEK: "'Hello Dolly' had the best first day of ticket sales in Broadway history!!! WOW!" - Bette Midler on Twitter
SEPTEMBER 28, 2016
·
GOT GAY-TENTION DEFICIT DISORDER?
From the hot topics to the hot messes, here is what you may have missed last week. TYLER'S NEW GIG Tyley Oakley got a new gig last week, hosting his own web series on Ellen DeGeneres's online media platform. The Tyler Oakley Show debuted on Ellen Tube, and the YouTube sensation welcomed Celine Dion and Kerry Washington as his first guests. During a segment where they played a game to get to know each other better, Dion asked Oakley if he has ever kissed a girl. “I tried it once,” he replied. “It was not for me. Have you? Should we?” And so, they did. LOVE LOOSES Last week, the world mourned the lose of love when Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt after being together for 12 years. The divorce was a media frenzy, with many people and media outlets featuring memes and GIFS of Jennifer Aniston. The New York Post probably did it the best when on their cover they featured a hysterically laughing Aniston with the simple headline, "Brangelina: 2004 - 2016." It's been a dramatic frenzy since, with allegations 12 SEPTEMBER 28, 2016
and claims of child abuse and cheating riveting the nation. LOVE WINS Cookie Johnson, wife of basketball legend Magic Johnson, opened up about the moments she learned her husband was HIV-positive and her son, EJ, was gay in a rare interview last week on Good Morning America. The couple appeared together to promote Cookie’s new memoir and discussed how their marriage persevered through 25 years despite some pretty tumultuous times. Admitting he initially “didn’t want” his son to be gay, Magic said, “I had to come to realize that this is who he is, and he’s going to be happy. And so why am I judging him? I’m his father, so I got to be the first one to say, ”It’s OK and I love you. Now, how can I help you?'” “You gotta love your child,” Cookie concluded. “Love wins.” HE'S JUST BEING MILO Out Magazine featured Milo Yiannopoulos, the alt-right wing conservative who was banned from Twitter
after inciting racial attacks against Leslie Jones over the summer. The feature caused much controversy in the community, as many did not think his harsh views should be publicized. "Everybody has bad shit happen to them, and you either use it to turn yourself into a star or you become a victim. And I don’t have time for victims,” Yiannopoulos says. “If you allow the bad things in your life to define you, you will only ever be a parasite.” HELLO, BETTE! "The announcement that Bette Midler would return to Broadway for the revival of the hit musical Hello Dolly! was met with tremendous enthusiasm from fans of the theater world, and now it looks like that excitement is translating into big ticket sales," New Now Next reports. "According to producer Scott Rudin, the show has already set a new Broadway record after selling $9,082,496 worth of tickets in just the first day that they went on sale alone." Bad Apple Burlesque boy Justin Bach has a steamy Instagram we can't keep our eyes and fingers off of. BY ALEX KACALA
18 SEPTEMBER 28, 2016
#INSTABOI NAME Justin Bach OCCUPATION Theatre Director, Model, and Caterer HOOD YOU LIVE IN? Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn FOR HOW LONG? One year ARE YOU SINGLE OR TAKEN? Single IF SINGLE, HOW DO YOU MEET MEN? ON INSTAGRAM? I sometimes meet international friends through Instagram. They will travel to NYC after many conversations over a significant period of time and we'll finally meet in person. However, I usually meet people through other friends or friends of friends. There have been several times I've run into guys at events or places I frequent and we became friends or went on dates. WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SOCIAL MEDIA AND YOUR FOLLOWERS? My relationship with social media is my work as a model. One will notice there is barely any selfies on my page because I am honestly pretty private and my niche is my modeling work (both photography and as an art model). I try to have a healthy relationship with my followers. If they comment on my post, I always try to give a response even if it is a simple, "Thank you!" The difficulty I have is when a follower will comment something vulgar because I take pride in my work and view it as artistic and a practice of vulnerability, not trying to be a sex symbol. My hope is to have a pictorial dialogue with my followers about the many places we find ourselves in life. Those places can include depressive, joyful, sexy, and erotic, but all in my personal context of Art. WHAT TURNS YOU ON? Intelligence and fitness. I could be considered a sapiosexual. I love long conversations about life, past experiences, philosophy, etc. Conversation is where I find out about the guy and that (to me) is when connection happens. My preference is to actually know a guy before "knowing" him in the King James Bible way. I also appreciate guys who take fitness and diet as seriously as I do. Doesn't mean they have to go to the gym everyday and look like a supermodel, but being active instead of physically stagnant is a turn-on. It shows me that they can make time for something important in the midst of the crazy NYC life (as long as they have the brains to back it up). Moreover, they don't have to be interested or talk about the same things in which I'm interested. I love to hear and learn about other things/subjects/fields and other guy's passions.
OFF INSTAGRAM, WHERE IN NEW YORK CAN OUR READERS FIND YOU? I am all over the city because of my work. However, my favorite places to go are in Brooklyn (Bed-Stuy and Bushwick specifically). Reconnect Cafe is where I will get my Americano. AP Cafe is my favorite brunch place. I love getting a smoothie and a wheatgrass shot from Brooklyn Blends. Shinobi Ramen is such a cool place. And my guilty pleasure is a big ol' donut from Dough. My favorite pastimes are a French Press on a rooftop, exploring or reading in parks, homemade dinners, and trying different burgers. FAVORITE GAY BAR? I love Flaming Saddles. Not only is it a fun bar, but it also plays my tunes: Country music! FAVORITE THING RIGHT NOW ABOUT NYC? I love how big and different it is. While I may go all over the City, I still find places I've never been. For example, I rode CitiBike down to Prospect Park and didn't know about this fountain with mermaid and merman statues right next to an arch memorial of the civil war all within eye sight of the Brooklyn Public Library with "gold" plated doors. Discovering the many locations and sights one wouldn't see as a tourist makes living here always an adventure. HOW DO YOU STAY IN SHAPE? I go to the gym four to seven days a week. When I am building muscle, I'll weight train four to five days a week to work a specific muscle group each day. Then I'll do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) on my "rest days." Some days I'll refrain from a day or two of cardio if I'm too tired from my work/social schedule. I mean, I get a ton of cardio from setting up some of the catering events I work. When I'm cutting fat, I'll do weights six days a week with super sets (one weight exercise and one cardio exercise) and actually take my rest day. Depending on the season and photo shoots, that will determine if I'm building muscle or cutting fat. SOMETHING THAT WOULD SURPRISE OUR READERS AND FOLLOWERS ABOUT YOU IS... While there are a number of things, my first answer would be that I adore snakes. I used to own three snakes: a Columbian Red-Tailed Boa named Tabby, a Bull Python named Toby, and the most adorable Milk Snake named Jack. Touching my nose to theirs ("snake kisses") and carrying them (Tabby especially) around my neck in my apartment were my favorite activities with them. I also would watch movies and play video games with them (albeit them just chilling while I enjoyed the activity). Unfortunately, my schedule got so busy that I didn't have the time to give them the attention they needed. Being single also doesn't allow me to ask someone else to hold them and help care for them. Thus, I couldn't own pets any longer. But I do miss having their company. SEPTEMBER 28, 2016 19
MEET THE NEWEST FLESHJACK BoYS Everyone likes a brand new toy to play with. BY ALEX KACALA
This was the confident approach that Levi Karter, Boomer Banks and Liam Riley took when they collaborated with adult toy mega company Fleshjack to release their own toys. The three hotties, who are feature stars at CockyBoys, the rapidly growing New York City-based porn company, sat down with us to discuss their bond, having toys molded after their money makers, and the gay porn industry.
20 SEPTEMBER 28, 2016
BRIEFENCOUNTER What did you first think when you were told about this collaboration between Fleshjack and CockyBoys? Levi Karter: I was very excited! This was a goal of mine when I first started in the business. When CockyBoys and Flashjack started talking about collaborating, I couldn’t believe we were about to work with the best. Boomer Banks: I thought now everyone can play pass around Boomer... Oh and bacon cause I think of that randomly. Then came, "Wow. I'm going to be immortalized." Humbled. Liam Riley: I was really excited. I couldn't believe that I was going to be one of the next Fleshjack boys. it was such a huge honor and was a milestone in my career. How do you think releasing toys will change your relationship with your fans and followers? LK: I think that releasing these toys will bring a "deeper", more personal, and "realistic" experience for everyone that likes me and my work. Flashjack goes above and beyond to make these toys look and feel like the real deal, and they are the best. Because of that, I think it's almost like I am right there with you - if you should choose to use them as ‘directed". Ha! BB: I stay very connected to my Baconbits. this will take it to the next level. LR: I thought it was going to be great! It is going to give everyone an at home experience with me and I think if you use it with my scenes you'll have the time of your life. Why have you wanted to put out your own toys? LK: I remember when I started in the industry and Jake Jaxson sat me down and asked what I wanted out of this whole experience, and one of the many things I said was, “I want a toy.” Personally, I enjoy using toys, and I'm proud knowing that having a toy gives my fans something very personal and tangible that they can keep and take home.
BB: I call them adult action figures cause duh, who doesn't want their own action figure. Pun intended. LR: It's a huge thing for our industry for adult performers to have their own toys made. it's finally like a, "Wow! I made it moment." And for it to be with Fleshjack, the number one toy company in the world, I'm extremely honored. What was it like for you to have your private parts molded? LK: At first I was not nervous at all and I heard I had to stay hard with no stimulation for 15 minutes - still was like, “No big deal.” But when we walked into the office to get molded, I was scared I was going to mess it all up and asked Boomer to go before me. Once I got in the room and was being molded, it was no big deal at all. The molding was green, too! BB: Chilling and kinky. LR: It was definitely an experience. (Laughs) I couldn't believe it was happening, I knew what the process was going to be like but when it was happening I couldn't stop giggling. What is your relationship like with the other two boys releasing toys? LK: Liam is like my little brother and best friend we just get each other and get along with each other. We were SEPTEMBER 28, 2016 21
roommates for a year and I can honestly say he is crazy in the best possible way. Boomer is like my older brother. (Laughs) I remember we always ran into each other before he joined CockyBoys and I was like, "Wow! He’s so tall!" And he gives the best hugs! BB: They are my family - my baby brothers. I love and protect them as such. #pornfam LR: I LOVE LOVE LOVE BOOMER AND LEVI! I honestly couldn't think of two better performers. They're so great at what they do and they deserve it more than anyone. Tell me and our readers about being a CockyBoy. LK: Being a CockyBoy is incredible! It's more than I could have imagined entering the industry. I have traveled the world, met amazing people, it's creative and fun. Between myself and the other models, we are like a brotherhood. I often joke that we are like a pack of dogs in my eyes. We have a strong bond, and we have our territories. We raise our voices at each other sometimes, but we will always have each others backs at the end of the day and are always the first to each others side if we need anything. I am very thankful to have such a strong bond between these guys and am able to share in all of our success in and with CockyBoys. BB: Touch in it in previous question. it's a sense of family Where I'm allowed to be artistically free and be supported everY step of the way. LR: It's something special to be a CockyBoy. We are a family and we work and dedicate ourselves to our work and we hope to create something special out of it. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else because it's special and the people I work with - we have a dynamic that's just inevitable.
What is your favorite thing right now about the gay porn industry? LK: Carter Dane BB: How sexual freedom is accepted it's a much more sex positive viewed industry thanks to those who paved the way before me. LR: My favorite thing about the industry, is just Cockyboys I stay in my zone and focus on my work. what we're creating is so much more and bigger than just gay porn. We hope to entertain the entire gay community as a whole. I hope to send a message that being gay is OK, and gay sex is healthy and we should make the most of it and be proud of who we are. Other than this collaboration with Fleshjack and CockyBoys, what else is next for you? LK: The Next Installment of "Meet The Morecocks" will be premiering at NewFest in October. And movie I did with Will Wilkle and Colby Keller called the STILLEST HOUR, will be out latter this fall. BB: Fashion is always on the horizon. My first solo project is on the horizon. I'm excited to share my art to the world. LR: We just wrapped a big project called "One Erection: The Unmaking Of A Boy Band". It's a very funny and smart porn parody. And it looks like it's going to also be released as a gay indie film. And our first song "#StickyFace" is going to be released on YouTube along with the music video on Halloween.

When some people think of a “gay resort,” they assume it’s basically a seedy bathhouse. Some resorts in Fort Lauderdale live up to that stereotype – mThe Grand Resort and Spa is not one of them. This preconceived notion of mine was quickly checked at the front gate when I checked-in for an extended stay. Just steps away from the beach, this luxurious home away from home is the best place to stay while visiting the “Venice of America.”

Located near the gay resorts, Sebastian Street Beach is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike (mostly men). It’s a diverse "Who’s Who" of otters, cubs, and bears that still has that wonderfully low-key Lauderdale vibe. Between cocktails and sunbathing, take advantage of the fabulous spa The Grand Resort and Spa offers - with everything from haircuts to manzillian waxes. You can’t have pleasure without a bit of pain, right? They also offer relaxing massages and invigorating facials that are fit for a king – or a queen. Do some shopping at one the many local gay owned and operated stores. Leatherworks has everything your kinky heart may desire. The Grand Resort and Spa
For dinner, steps away from The Grand and overlooking Sebastian Beach, The Ritz Carlton's restaurant Burlock Coast has lots of good eats. Trust us and order the fish and chips with one of their craft cocktails to wash it down. For Sunday brunch, choose between quintessential Rosie's and Thirteen that are some of The Drive's most coveted restaurants jewels. Thirteen is a tad more laid back, where as Rosie's is usually jammed packed by 10:30 am and the spot to see and be seen.

MIAMI stay
Miami Beach’s only gay-owned resort, mHotel Gaythering is a chic and fun spot to stay while you play. The Men’s Self Spa is an oasis equipped with a Jacuzzi, dry cedar sauna, aroma steam room, and mud lounge. In a city known for loud nightclubs and glitz, the Lounge at the Gaythering is the antithesis of what you’d expect in South Beach: no velvet ropes, no guest lists, and their Friday “HoPPY HoUR” is not to be missed. A good-looking crowd of locals mix in with explorers, kicking off the weekend on the perfect note. After you check-in, stop by the LGBT Visitor’s Center to make your stay extra fabulous. There you will find a place for community, information, and resources.
eat Pull up a chair in the heart of Lincoln Drive for magnificent people-watching. Whether you’re seeking a double espresso or a full meal, Balans is known for its modern menu, great cocktails and friendly atmosphere. Get your fill of Cuban culture at a traditional coffee counter. Ask for a café con leche—steamed milk with a shot of Cuban coffee—or a cortadito—a tiny shot of super sweet Cuban coffee—to channel your inner Little Havana local.
Drive and a continuous flow of sexy men and women. The gay beach is m12th Street, where Ocean Drive crosses 12th. Check out nude Haulover Beach if you don’t want anything to get between you and the sun. 11 miles north of Miami Beach, get there on the 120 bus towards 120 – Max to Aventura. Capturing the essence of South Beach style, Lincoln Road is an open-air pedestrian mall filled with tourists and locals alike. Its vibrant mix of outdoor cafes, restaurants, high-end boutiques and mainstream stores is set against a beautiful backdrop of towering palm trees. Stop by BASE - the flagship of a chain of hip lifestyle stores stocking fashion, books and other great gifts—before heading next door to Books & Books Miami Beach, if for no other reason than its vast magazine collection, which includes international and locally published periodicals. Next to the Design District and carrying on the tropical SoHo vibe, explore the funky and hip neighborhood of mWynwood. It’s home to the astonishing Wynwood Walls, an open-air park dedicated to cutting-edge contemporary urban murals. The District also houses over 70 art galleries, retail stores, antique shops and eclectic bars. Hotel Gaythering
South Beach style and sophistication abound at mJuvia. This ultramodern space atop a designer parking garage serves up eclectic food and drink. While parking can be difficult at most places in and around Key West, Higgs Beach offers free parking. Additionally, here is where you can find all of the things that tourists and visitors love. Dolphin tours, jet ski rides and parasailing are just some the fun activities that you can partake in. You can even opt to rent a kayak or just have a picnic on one of the benches at the beach. 7HALLOWEEN BODY
FITNESS TIPS FOR YOUR BEST
BY CHRISTOPHER MURO
Halloween is just over a month away and you’re determined to kill the scene in your costume this year. Last year, while all your friends flaunted their bodies in wrestling singlets and tight football costumes, you were forced to walk around in an oversized Dracula piece that you created last minute. Well, this year, there’s no need to settle. We have the fitness tips that will help you get your body into gear in time for your Halloween reveal.
32 SEPTEMBER 28, 2016
1. CREATE A SCHEDULE Any gym rat would tell you that having a great body and seeing progress is all about consistency. If you want to slay in your costume, you need to seriously commit to the gym for the next 4 weeks. Print out a calendar and designate the days where you will make it to the gym by any means. For this to work, you will have to make time 4-5 times weekly.
FITNESS
2. ASK FOR HELP We understand that not everyone is experienced at the gym. If you need help using machines or perfecting your form, don’t be afraid to reach out to a friend for tips. If you would rather do it on your own and surprise your friends with your progress, just ask some guys at the gym for help. Muscle heads can have huge egos so they would be happy to give you a tutorial at the gym. 3. LOVE THE STAIRMASTER There’s a reason why the Stairmaster machine hurts… it actually works. When you use your own body weight in an uphill motion you will burn more calories faster than using a traditional treadmill. This machine will also tone and sculpt your entire lower body while increasing your core muscle strength. This is perfect if you plan to pull out that soccer player costume and show your massive legs. Spend 20-30 minutes on this each gym session for fast results. 4. SIZE MATTERS (3 KEY EXERCISES) If you plan to go shirtless or wear something that leaves little room to breathe at this year’s Halloween party, make sure you take bulging biceps and a big chest along with you. If you want to pack on size fast, do workouts that will assist you. Skip the light bicep curls and focus on pull-ups. This is a compound exercise that target your chest, back and biceps. Next, incorporate squats into each workout. Even if you just start with body weight squats, it will help in body wide muscle building. Squats, pull-ups and deadlifts are three crucial size building exercises. 5. WATER TIME Drinking lots of water will help you burn calories and keep you hydrated at the gym. If you love drinking sodas and beer, learn to hate them. The occasional coffee or wine is okay but water should be your favorite thing. 6. EAT BETTER You know this one was coming right? You won’t reach your goals if you keep eating greasy fast food after the gym instead of clean protein filled meals. A small portion of oatmeal with yogurt and granola can be filling and more rewarding than a large order of fries. 7. PUSH YOURSELF Success at the gym is about pushing yourself and your limits. If your workout becomes too easy and routine, add more weight. If your cardio doesn’t make you sweat anymore, go faster and longer. Get your gym playlist together, find your zone and push yourself.
