WELCOME This year, Hamburg is the hub of our Fleet Europe Community. There’s more than 600 of us, ready to share expertise and best practices, to network and - last but not least! - to be honoured for excellence. The Village has expanded to include 29 booths. This is the place to be to exchange, share and discover. When you visit, don’t miss the 15 vehicles on display - a fantastic addition to the Village! Our Forum aims to bring added value to your business. And Wednesday evening, we will be honouring this year’s outstanding professionals in our industry. Nexus Communication will also be spicing up the event with a decidedly regional angle. This year we will be presenting a Special on the Nordics and Baltics. But there’s a lot more interesting stuff going on than just this regional focus. > Our first Remarketing Event, this Tuesday, was a great success. This is an important focus for the future of our industry. We will be paying close attention to it from now on. > We will continue to enhance the quality of content across our media outlets. So not just in our magazine, which will be restyled by spring 2015, but also on our digital platforms. > Nexus will also pool its expertise in a Knowledge Center, which will feed our content - and vice versa. > Our Team is getting stronger by the year. Johan Verbois now heads our Knowledge Centre, and we welcome Tony Elliot, who has joined us as industry expert! Also, Robert Boscari is now part of our board. > In parallel to the Fleet Europe platform, our Global Fleet concept is growing in Turkey, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and China. And we are consolidating our expertise with our US partner Automotive News. > Fleet Europe has been with you for 17 years already. This is our 13th event. Such longevity is possible only because we nurture the same core values that you do: trust, respect, listening to your partners. Your concerns are central to what we do. Without you, our trusted partners, none of this would be possible. You are all great. And together, we are even better. We sincerely thank you for your trust!

TURNING TODAY’S FLEET MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES INTO SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMMES Exchanging ideas and best practices to stimulate future solutions. Welcome to the Fleet Europe Forum 2014 in Hamburg, one of the most dynamic and innovative cities in Europe. What is new about this thirteenth edition of the Fleet Europe Forum? “The aim of the Fleet Europe Forum has not changed. The main goal is to provide delegates with engaging content, market insight, and best practice advice to support efficient vehicle fleet management. And it is the first time there’s such a high mix of expert presentations and fleet manager testimonials. What’s more, it is the first time that we have dedicated a session to Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) fleet management, as we witnessed that many multinationals have LCVs in their corporate fleets – and these entail unique challenges.” Why choose the theme ‘Turning today’s fleet management challenges into successful fleet programmes’? “The Fleet Europe Forum wants to support value creation. Therefore we believe it is necessary not only to describe challenging trends, new market insights, and innovative services and customer approaches, but also to offer solutions that support efficiency in international vehicle fleet management. Together with the Fleet Europe community we will look for ways to build a better future for our industry. “We have built the programme in four chapters. We will start with paying attention to fleet

management in the Nordics. They might not be the biggest markets in terms of volume, but it is nevertheless an engaging region in terms of market dynamics and best practices. Afterwards we will dive into winning fleet management strategies from international fleet managers who will share their experiences on different topics such as driver satisfaction, and reporting. We will conclude the morning sessions with a high-level executive debate on the future of car leasing. “In the afternoon we will start with our dedicated chapter on LCV Management. Representatives of the main LCV OEMs will introduce their strategies in a panel discussion. And the fourth and final part will be set for exploring various topics that will become increasingly important in tomorrow’s fleet management. We will evaluate how elements like driver behaviour, telematics, big data, alternative powertrains and alternative mobility can be incorporated in international fleet programmes.” What is your main message to this year’s attendees? “Seize the day. And with that we want to encourage attendees to take full benefit from this year’s Fleet Europe Forum, Village, Awards ceremony and networking opportunities .”

FLEET KNOWLEDGE EUROPECENTER FORUM
A VARIETY OF EXPERTISE SOLUTIONS At the industry’s request, we’re launching a knowledge center. It will be the objective reference for fleet and remarketing insight through the activation of a series of products. Academy With the Academy, we will work on the many challenges facing International Fleet Managers. In the future we will increase the options for knowledge-sharing through a range of sessions on topics decided together with our customers. The Academy sessions will be followed by an assessment and if positive by a certification. The scientific and technological support of this process is done by Assess Group and is certified by the HEC group. Survey As of 2015, an increasing number of surveys and reports will be produced at European and Global level for Fleet and Remarketing. On top of this we will also provide this as a service to customers and suppliers. For example when combining a few OEMs with the need for similar research, we can save budget for our partners or do more in depth or frequent research. There are concrete discussions going on about surveying user-choosers with regard to their decision criteria, the globalisation of the fleet industry and the used-car customer motivation. Webinar Following the positive response of the audience this year, we will be increasing the number of webinars in 2015. 80% of attendees were satisfied with the ROI, 91% agree on the added value of the webinars, and 84% have stayed for the full length of the session. Taking the taped version into account, more than 500 people participate in a webinar. Library In order to respond to customer requests for support through documentation e.g. do’s and dont’s, templates and presentations, we will launch an on line library in the spring of 2015. This will facilitate easy research through key words and will save some precious time.

INTERVIEW
ENHANCING EXPERTISE
Johan Verbois Director of Knowledge Development
Johan Verbois joined Nexus Communication a few months ago, not only to take the lead in the remarketing area, but also to focus on the creation of a Knowledge Center. “After discussing with fleet industry stakeholders, we identified the need for even more informationsharing and discussion,” explains Johan Verbois. “We aim to be the objective reference for fleet and remarketing knowledge. We create the basis through experience, analysis, and our network of local and international experts. With this we connect and support the fleet leaders’ community by sharing knowledge.” How do you keep updated on the latest developments? “On the one hand we are in daily contact with the various stakeholders within the industry. On top of this we have a network of experts in fields like market volumes, residual values, taxation, human resources, and many others, in order to have the latest trends immediately identified and commented on. We also seek advice through our advisory boards.” You are also going to invest in research and business surveys? “Research is also a field where suppliers have requested us to support them. All suppliers like manufacturers or leasing companies need customer research, and this can often be expensive when doing it on their own. Our added value lies in the fact that we combine
different survey requests in order to lower the initial investment, and in our access to customer databases.” You have also launched a Fleet Europe Academy in Turkey. “International fleet customers have highlighted the fact that there is a need for more training and sharing around specific topics. Many existing trainings have too broad a scope and create more questions than answers. We plan to hold full-day sessions where there will always be an expert speaker supporting the specific topic, focusing on practical elements that can be put into practice immediately after the session. Where appropriate participants will be assessed and certified. This is done with HEC University, a leader in this field on an international level.” This year you started organising webinars. Will this continue? “We bring knowledge to our audience in various ways, and webinars are a key part of this. The results of the surveys after every webinar have been extremely positive. 92% of people see this as having added value, satisfaction levels reach up to 88%. In some webinars we have close to 200 participants live with another 600 viewing the recorded version afterwards. Customers already proposed more than 30 new subjects, clearly a sign that they want more.” FLEET EUROPE FORUM & AWARDS I PROGRAMME 2014
