CONCEPT FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION The students attending West Haven High School are near adulthood. They need to be in a space that encourages creativity, have the ability to express themselves freely, and focus on their individuality. However, there must also be an equal balance of teamwork and collaboration with their fellow peers.

SUSTAINABILIT Y West Haven wanted to include sustainable features in the new building. A recycling station was included in the commons areas and media center to encourage recycling. With seperate bins for all paper, plastic, glass, organics, metals, and e-waste. Recycling comes with many benefits, including reducing waste, conserving natural resources, saves energy, reduces pollution, creates jobs in the industry, and more. The wall behind the station is a live wall, which comes with positives for both people and the enviornment. Not only are they beautiful in a room, they are creating natural filtrartion, act as a natural insulator, and reduce noise level all to help earn LEED Credits. WELL Credits can also be earned by including a live wal as they boost happiness, productivity, and well being.
