Sinopsis Hayashi(30), un tĂpico trabajador asalariado (salaryman) japonĂŠs vive pasivamente los embates de la rutina diaria en Tokio. Poco a poco se devela su vida personal y en ella se descubren la soledad y frustraciĂłn dentro de una sociedad en la que el trabajo nunca para.
Synopsis Hayashi(30), a Japanese salaryman has a passive routine everyday in Tokyo. Little by little his personal life reveals the loneliness and frustration inside a society where the work never stops.
El Proyecto Japón es sin duda uno de los lugares más cautivantes del mundo moderno. Su tecnología, respetuosas costumbres, las tendencias que imponen y el casi mítico código de honor con que se rigen y aceptan la culpa de sus actos, hace que al menos prestemos especial atención. Pero al superar esa primera impresión y vivir en la isla, como en todos los lugares del mundo, puntos negros comienzan a asomar, particularmente la forma en que los habitantes de Tokyo se relacionan entre ellos en todos los ámbitos. Lo impersonal y la distancia son clave para que la sociedad mantenga su ritmo, pero a la vez causa gran vacío en las personas. Desde esa observación nace “Peon“, que retrata a un trabajador común y corriente, acorralado en un bucle donde encontrar una salida es casi imposible.
The Project Japan is whitout a doubt one of the most captivating places of the world. Its technology, respectful customs, the trends that they impose and the almost mythical code of honor with which they accept the guilt of their acts, makes us at least watch them with special attention. But after that first impression and living on the island, as in every place of the world, black spots begin to show up, particularly in the way the people of Tokyo interact with each other in all the areas. The impersonal relations and the distance with others are key of the society to maintain its rhythm, but at the same time causes a deep emptiness feeling in them. From that observation borns “Pawn”, which portrays an ordinary “Salaryman“, in a loop where find a way out is almost impossible.

Director IGNACIO RUIZ [ESP] Director, director de arte y docente universitario natal de Puerto Montt, con estudios en la Escuela de Cine de la Universidad de Valparaíso, se especializó en ilustración en la escuela de creativos Brother Advertisement y participó de Talents Bs.As. En sus obras destaca una minuciosa dirección de arte y la búsqueda pictórica a través de los encuadres. Ganador del premio Pedro Sienna el año 2011 y nomidado el 2016. Con participación en diversos festivales de cine en Chile y el extranjero. Socio fundador de Niebla Producciones. [ENG] Director, art director and university proffesor, he was borned in Puerto Montt and studied at Valparaiso’s University Film School, he got a specialization in publicity illustration at the creatives school Brother Advertisement and he participated at Talents Bs. As. His works highlights are a strong art direction and the pictorical search in the cinematic image. Winner of the Pedro Sienna Price in 2011 and nominated in 2016.
