Mikaela, los DJ de hoy son considerados los nuevos Rockstars. ¿Cuál es tu opinión al respecto y, ¿cómo manejas la fama que va con esto?

Es probable que ahora sea más guay poseer un equipo de tocadiscos que una guitarra, por lo que los niños hoy en día veneran a los DJ de la misma manera que solían idolatrar a las estrellas de rock, pero esta definitivamente no es una mala cosa.

Supongo que, mientras que la escena es preeminente, sólo tenemos que aprovechar el momento y asegurarnos de sentar un precedente sobre cómo queremos que el futuro de la industria evolucione y al mismo tiempo tener la oportunidad de inspirar e influenciar.

Love The Underground es ahora una realidad bien establecida. Por favor, háblanos de su evolución.

Efectivamente, estamos justo en el proceso de lanzar el sexto EP en el sello, que cuenta con dos originales del excelente Javi Bora y un remix de Yours Truly.

Para ser honesta, pienso que el sello es algo que me permite ser mucho más espontánea y creativa, sin las mismas presiones y el estrés que me dan los eventos que obviamente necesitan de mucha más planificación minuciosa. Siempre me he dejado llevar por la corriente, lanzando música por la cual siento un particular cariño y que yo misma iba a desarrollar o quería bailar.

Hablando de Onyx, tu nuevo evento de verano, ¿cómo nació tu colaboración con Space?

Tras la conclusión exitosa de nuestras series de residencia del pasado verano de 16 semanas en el Club Tox en Destino, mi equipo y yo queríamos aprovechar nuestro éxito y conservar algo que era mucho más conceptual, con una mayor profundidad

y significado que añadir a la ya amplia oferta musical de la isla.

Después de muchas noches sin dormir reflexionando sobre lo que podía ser, mi director de operaciones, Luke Farrugia, nos presentó el concepto de ONYX y sus ideas para el programa.

Esto se alineó perfectamente con una abertura en Space los lunes, que nuestro director de eventos, y promotor de larga trayectoria, Mo Chaudry, trabajó sin descanso para asegurar. Después de 4 meses de trabajo duro poniendo todas las piezas juntas, hemos llegado a donde estamos hoy en día. Ha sido un placer trabajar con el equipo de Space para hacer de este sueño una realidad, y cada uno en ONYX ahora está listo para dar el 110% y asegurarnos de poder ofrecer el verano más memorable de todos los lunes en Space cuando abramos oficialmente el 27 de junio. ¿Puedes decirnos más acerca de este nuevo desafío y cuáles son tus expectativas de esta cooperación?

Mentiría si dijera que no estoy un poco nerviosa por el reto de poner en marcha un nuevo evento en lo que se puede decir que es el mejor club del mundo, pero realmente creo que ONYX tiene todas las características de una serie de eventos que conseguirá todo lo que queremos para tener éxito este verano.

El programa es el aspecto más poderoso de ONYX, con algunos de los pioneros indiscutibles del techno del mundo listos para honrar la Main Terrace, muchos por primera vez en Ibiza. Ser capaz de invitar a gente como David Clarke, Karenn LIVE, Answer Code Request, Function, Rebekah, Juan Atkins y la lista sigue, a tocar junto a mí en la más legendaria terraza en el mundo, es por supuesto muy gratificante y emocionante.

Para ser honesta, cuando no estoy en el estudio, haciendo mis set o pinchando, me gusta mucho más pasar mi tiempo con amigos en lugar de escuchar música. Pero no te puede ir mal con un poco de Nils Frahm o Ólafur Arnalds, que siempre me relajan.

MIkaela, the DJs today are considered the new Rock Stars. What is your opinion in this regard and how do you handle the fame that goes with it?

It’s probably now cooler to own a set of turntables than to own a guitar, so the kids nowadays hype over DJs the same way they used to idolize rock stars, but that’s definitely not a bad thing.

I guess that as the scene is in the ascendancy, we just need to capitalize on the moment, and ensure that we set the precedent for how we want the future of the industry to evolve, while having the chance to inspire and influence.

Love The Underground is now a well established reality. Please tell us about its evolution.

It is indeed, we are just in the process of releasing the sixth EP on the label, which features two originals from the excellent Javi Bora, and a remix of Yours Truly.

To be honest, I feel the label is something that allows me to be much more spontaneous and creative, without the same pressures and stress as the events side which obviously requires a lot more meticulous planning. I’ve always just gone with the flow, releasing music which I have a personal affection for and that I would either play out myself or want to dance to.

Speaking about Onyx, your new event of the summer, how did your collaboration with Space start?

Following the successful conclusion of our 16-week residency series at Destino’s intimate Tox Club last summer, my team and I wanted to build upon our success, and curate something which was much more conceptual with a greater depth and meaning to add to the island’s already extensive musical offering.

After lots of sleepless nights thinking over what that could be, my Operations Manager, Luke Farrugia introduced the ONYX concept to us, and with it his ideas for our programme.

This aligned seamlessly with an opening at Space on Mondays, which our Event Manager, and longstanding promoter Mo Chaudry worked tirelessly to secure. After four months of hard graft putting all the pieces of the puzzle together, we’ve arrived at where we are today. It’s been great to work alongside the Space team to make this dream a reality, and everyone at ONYX is now ready to give 110% to make sure we deliver the most memorable summer every Monday at Space when we officially open for business on June 27th.

Can you tell us more about this new challenge and what are your expectations from this cooperation?

I would be lying if I said that I am not a little nervous about the challenge of launching a new event at arguably the World’s best club, but I truly believe that ONYX has all the hallmarks of a series of events which will achieve everything we want to be successful this summer.

The programme is the most powerful facet of ONYX, with some of the World’s undisputed techno pioneers set to grace the Main Terrace, many for their first ever time in Ibiza. Being able to invite the likes of Dave Clarke, Karenn LIVE, Answer Code Request, Function, Rebekah, Juan Atkins, the list goes on, to play alongside me on the most legendary terrace in the World, is of course extremely humbling and exciting.

When you are not playing, what type of music do you enjoy listening to?

To be honest, when I am not in the studio, crafting my sets or DJing, I much prefer spending my time with friends rather than listening to music. But you can’t go wrong with some Nils Frahm or Ólafur Arnalds, who never fail to relax me.

How do you see Mikaela in 10 years?

Married with a family, and hopefully still being invited to spin records at amazing venues to receptive crowds, all around the World. Mind you, living in Thailand on a secluded island wouldn’t be a bad thing either!

Se trata de una playa de arena blanca y aguas turquesas a pocas millas del puerto de Ibiza. Muy ambientada, con servicio de recogida en Zodiac desde los principales restaurantes de la zona. Protegida de vientos de levante frecuentes en el verano ibicenco. Presenta aguas calmadas ideales para el fondeo y baño prácticamente a diario.

If there is a destination par excellence for a charter trip to Formentera, this is undoubtedly Illetas beach. The reason is quite simple. It is a white sandy beach with turquoise water a few miles from the port of Ibiza. Very livened up, with a zodiac yacht pick-up service from the main restaurants in the area. Protected from the frequent easterly winds of the Ibizan summer. Its calm waters are ideal for anchoring and going swimming almost daily.

Cala Saona es una playa no muy grande, pero con un agua cristalina espectacular. Diferenciada de Illetas en que está algo menos masificada, si bien en temporada alta es muy popular. Ideal para aquellos que quieran navegar algo más que con la primera opción y ver el paisaje que ofrece la fantástica costa Suroeste de Formentera. Con esta ruta acertará siempre.

Cala Saona is not a very large beach, but with spectacular crystalline water. Differently from Illetas, it is somewhat less crowded, although in high season it is very popular. Ideal for those who want to sail more than with the first option and see the fantastic scenery offered by the South West coast of Formentera. With this route you are always going to get it right.

En aquellos raros días de verano con vientos importantes de Poniente o Sur es cuando sale al rescate esta ruta, que lleva a la costa Este de Formentera, para disfrutar de un agua calmada y cristalina sobre fondos de arena. También, como en las anteriores rutas encontraremos restaurantes a pie de playa con deliciosas cartas y servicio de dingui.

Es Vedra is an impressive 382m high islet, that emerges from the sea almost vertically. Not only admired by yacht charter and navigation lovers, they have always been attributed magical and mystical qualities. Stories of a giant who lived there, analogies with the Bermuda Triangle and contacts with extraterrestrials... Whether they are true or not, there is definitely something sure, its breathtaking and awesome beauty.

It is a nature reserve and the landing on it is therefore prohibited.

Before arriving, it is very interesting a dip in Atlantis (its real name is Sa Pedrera, an ancient stone quarry used to build the walls of Ibiza). A mystical place for the hippies of Ibiza.

The route ends at Cala d'Hort, a small beach with an amazing sunset and, why not, disembarking to eat some fresh fish or paella.

Tagomago is an elongated island, with plenty of coves to throw out the anchor and go swimming or snorkeling. It is an island of great ecological value and therefore it should be highly respected.

This year part of La Maison de l’Éléphant is dedicated to an art gallery where painters and photographers meet, together with people like the Belgian Zadig who customizes bikes to make them artworks. With all the jet-set in the island, they will surely not have lack of work!

Estos días pude participar con mi cocina detox en Depura Ibiza, otra de nuestras colaboradoras de Salud y Wellness en N&D Magazine. La primavera es el mejor momento para depurar nuestro organismo y limpiarlo de toxinas y excesos.

Una dieta depurativa hará que nos sintamos más activos y energéticos y preparará nuestro cuerpo para la llegada del verano.

Si quieres empezar un DETOX deberás eliminar de manera gradual y en este orden,las grasas (aceites,frutos secos, quesos...), los hidratos de carbono (cereales, harinas, azúcares...) y por último las proteínas (carne, pescados, huevos...). Invierte de tres días a una semana para cada grupo. Después empezamos con tres días de una dieta puramente líquida a base de zumos y licuados de frutas y verduras, tes de hojas amargas y sopas de raíces y vegetales. Opta por ingredientes orgánicos, locales y de temporada. Tomar en ayunas polvo de hierba de cebada con zumo de limón y polen de abejas es un buen shot de nutrientes como proteínas, minerales y vitaminas del grupo B, muchas veces carentes en esta fase. El apio, el pepino y el hinojo tampoco pueden faltar.

Son de gran poder alcalino, diurético y depurativo. A la hora de hacer los zumos opta por combinar dos frutas con verduras de raíz o hoja verde. Un ejemplo; pera, kiwi, espinacas, apio, pepino e hinojo. Por la noche sopa de miso o caldo filtrado de verduras. Y durante el día infusiones de diente de león, cola de caballo o cardo mariano son de gran ayuda para el hígado y facilitar el filtraje de toxinas.

Después tu cuerpo estará listo para ir introduciendo de manera gradual los macronutrientes. Los dos primeros días sigue con los zumos de la mañana y las sopas de la noche y al mediodía un plato de ensalada, verduras al vapor o cremas de raíces. Después ya podrás introducir un cereal y por último una proteína.

Escucha tu cuerpo cada vez que vas introduciendo los alimentos sólidos de nuevo. Mira a ver que es lo que te sienta bien, o no.

Tu sientes, tu eliges, tu te nutres y tu cuidas tu salud.

These days I had the chance to participate with my detox cuisine in Depura Ibiza, another of our Health and Wellness collaborators in N&D Magazine. Spring is the best time to purify our body and cleanse it from toxins and excesses.

A cleansing diet will make us feel more active and energetic and prepare our body for the arrival of summer.

If you want to start one DETOX, you'll have to gradually eliminate and in this order, fats (oils, nuts, cheeses...), carbohydrates (cereals, flours, sugars...) and finally proteins (meat, fish, eggs...).

Do this for three days up to one week for each group.

Then we start with a three-day purely liquid diet, based on fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies, bitter leaves teas and roots and vegetable soups.

Opt for organic, local and seasonal ingredients.

Having barley grass powder with lemon juice and bee pollen on an empty stomach is a good shot of nutrients such as proteins, minerals and vitamins B, often lacking at this stage. Celery, cucumber and fennel cannot be missing either. They are highly alkaline, diuretic and purifying. When making juices, do choose to combine two pieces of fruit with root vegetables or green leaf. An example; pear, kiwi, spinach, celery, cucumber and fennel. At night, miso soup or filtered vegetable broth. And during the day, dandelion, horsetail or milk thistle infusions are of great help to the liver and to facilitate the filtering of toxins.

Then your body will be ready to gradually introduce macronutrients. The first two days you carry on with the morning juices and night soups and at noon a plate of salad, steamed vegetables or creamed roots.

Then you'll be able to add a type of cereal and finally a protein.

Listen to your body every time you're introducing solid foods again. Check what makes you feel good or not.

You feel, you choose, you feed yourself and your care of your health.

De Ibiza.

“Los Crímenes del Día de Todos los Santos” es un drama costumbrista de terror rural ambientado en la Ibiza de 1971. Tratando de inspirarnos en clásicos americanos del género slasher como “La Matanza de Texas” o “La Noche de Halloween”, hemos construido una historia coral que sigue a una serie de personajes de lo más heterogéneo.

Consideramos que la mezcla de un humor negro muy peculiar con todos esos elementos inherentes al cine de terror puede resultar muy atractivo para el espectador.

Vicente Torres (coguionista, coproductor y codirector de la película) y yo decidimos apostar por el largo de “Los Crímenes del Día de Todos los Santos” después del buen funcionamiento del corto, que fue seleccionado en 26 festivales (entre ellos Cannes 2013 y Sitges 2013) y ganó 4 premios.

I work with audiovisual production. I work in a production called Pauxa and, on my own, I develop fiction projects. So far, I have eleven short and a fulllength film.

"The Crimes of All Hallows’ Day" is a rural horror folkloric drama set in 1971 in Ibiza. Trying to draw inspiration from American slasher genre classics as "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" or "Halloween", we have built a choral story that follows a series of characters of the most heterogeneous kind. We believe that a very peculiar mixture of black humour with all those elements related to horror movies can be very attractive for the viewer. Vicente Torres (cowriter, co-producer and co-director of the film) and I decided to go for the full-length version of the "The Crimes of All Hallows’ Day" after the smooth running of its short version, which was selected in 26 festivals (including Cannes 2013 and Sitges 2013) and won four awards.

¿Cuáles fueron las dificultades para What were the difficulties in producing producir una película a coste cero? a film at zero cost?

La dificultad ha sido máxima. Hasta el punto que, si tuviéramos que empezar ahora la producción, sabiendo de antemano la que nos caía encima, posiblemente no habría película. En la película hemos gastado exactamente 6000€, una cifra más que ridícula si vemos presupuestos medios de cine español (casi siempre superando el millón y medio de euros). Al carecer de presupuesto hemos tenido que rodar durante un año en los fines de semana en los que podíamos reunir a todo el equipo (algunos además no viven en Ibiza), con todos los problemas que derivan de trabajar así (uno de los peores, mantener la continuidad de decorados, peinados, vestuario etc.). Otra dificultad ha sido ambientar la historia en 1971. Hemos tenido que conseguir atrezo, casas, coches, bares, tiendas, vestuario adecuado a la época. Además, hay escenas muy duras que han contado con la participación en fx del maestro Adrián Cardona (multipremiado

The difficulty has been high. To the extent that, if we were to start now the production, knowing in advance what was happening, possibly there would be no film. In the film we spent exactly 6000 €, a more than ridiculous figure if we see the average budgets of Spanish films (usually over a million and a half euro). As we didn't have the budget, we had to shoot for one year at the weekends where we could gather all the team (besides, some don't live in Ibiza), with all the problems that arise from working in this way (one of the worst ones, to keep continuity of decorations, hairstyles, clothing etc.).

Another difficulty was to set the story in 1971.

We had to get props, houses, cars, bars, shops, appropriate clothing for the time. "blood scenes"). And finally, we cannot ignore the latex makeup (in the middle of August) to age 20 years actors Miquel Riera and Francisca Salvadó.

Despite all difficulties, we must not forget the extraordinary work of an entire team of professionals who believed in the project. We hope to give them back very soon what they have given us.

La Ibiza que me fascina es la que reflejamos en la película, cuando la isla era un paraíso. Una época mucho más light y más dulce. Me fascinan las relaciones de los payeses con los hippies. Pero los intereses económicos y la especulación la han convertido en lo que es ahora.

Y a mí, como cineasta, la Ibiza de las grandes discotecas y los beach clubs no me interesa.

The Ibiza that fascinates me is the one we reflect in the film, when the island used to be a paradise.

A time much lighter and sweeter. I'm fascinated by the relationships of the farmers with the hippies. But the economic interests and speculation have made it what it is now. And, as a filmmaker, the Ibiza of the big clubs and beach clubs doesn't interest me.

Another full-length film. But for this one I really need a "normal" budget, otherwise we're not going to shoot. It is entitled "Una Noche en la Guarida del Ángel" and we have made two short films to show them to producers and investors. We presented the project in Sitges last year.

Cada miércoles y viernes Walking Ibiza organiza paseos, los así llamados “community walks”, donde todos son bienvenidos. Cada miércoles hay una ruta sencilla y corta que toma alrededor de 2-3 horas, y todos los viernes un paseo clásico que lleva alrededor de 4-5 horas.

Toby: "Después de caminar alrededor de la isla siguiendo toda la costa, la gente me pidió que le mostrara el lugar a pie, y entonces lo hice. Eso se convirtió en el inicio de Walking Ibiza. Ahora tenemos 9 guías maravillosos y también organizamos senderismo, paseos privados, excursiones en kayak y otros eventos al aire libre, pero los paseos de grupo son nuestras raíces".

"Uno de mis paseos favoritos se llama ‘La ciudad perdida’. Tienes la oportunidad de ver los restos de una pared con una gran historia detrás, que crea el escenario ideal para un hermoso paseo. Otro paseo muy popular es el paseo para Atlantis, otra ciudad perdida. Hay una gran cantidad de piedra arenisca y con los años las personas han grabado Budas y signos de la paz. Otro hermoso paseo es el paseo para un lugar llamado Es Broll. Es un paseo hacia el interior en un valle al único lugar en Ibiza que todo el año tiene agua que fluye. Un lugar verdaderamente bonito”.

Every Wednesday and Friday Walking Ibiza organizes the so called community walks which everyone can join. On Wednesday there is a Short & Sweet walk that takes about 2 to 3 hours, and every Friday a classic walk that takes about 4-5 hours.

Toby: “After walking around the island following the whole coastline, people asked me to show them around on foot, and so I did. That became the start of Walking Ibiza. Now we have 9 wonderful guides and also organize walking holidays, private walks, kayak tours and other outdoor events, but community walks are our roots”.

“One of my favorite walks is called ‘The Lost City’. You get to see the remains of a wall with a great history behind, which sets the scene for a beautiful walk. Another walk that’s quite popular is the one to Atlantis, another lost city. There is a lot of sandstone and over the years people have engraved Buddhas and peace signs. Another beautiful walk is the one to a place called Es Broll. It’s an inland walk in a valley to the only spot on Ibiza that has all-year-long flowing water.

“It always amazes me that we still find new trails. In particular, the inland ones are a mystery. You think you know an area and suddenly you come across a valley you didn’t even know was there. You find new springs, new wonderful ruined fincas, farmhouses... So it’s truly a magical island, where even in my own very close neighborhood I find trails I didn’t know existed”.

Toby vivía en el Reino Unido, absorto en la carrera de locos: un trabajo, un coche, una casa, el largo viaje al trabajo. Wow! Me han pedido que vuelva atrás diez años… y me cuesta un poco… parece que hubiese pasado una vida entera… o muchas... y, al mismo tiempo, ¡es un soplo!

Mi 2006 comenzó en el sur de India, Trivandrum, acabando un mes y medio en un ashram para obtener mi titulación de International Yoga Teacher.

Volví a Europa y más o menos estas fechas comenzaba a preparar “Savage Grace” con Julienne Moore y Eddie Redmayne; a la que siguió una TV movie italiana “Il padre delle spose” con el genial Lino Banfi, film controvertido porque hacía con su hija una pareja lésbica.

En 2007 escribi y dirigí el cortometraje “Se Ven De” que obtuvo uno de los premios en el desaparecido festival de cine de Ibiza… Ya por entonces venía cada vez más a Ibiza y empecé a quedarme todo lo posible… hasta que dí un giro a mi vida, dejé la ciudad, y me instalé en este paraíso, desarrollando lo que ahora ocupa casi toda mi vida… nuestro amado DePura Ibiza… cómo no, haciendo honor a este pedacito de tierra que a tantos nos acoge!

No sabía yo por entonces que todas mis experiencias serían el caldo de cultivo de lo que soy ahora… ¡Gracias, gracias por todo, gracias infinitas!

Wow! I've been asked to go back ten years... and it costs me a little... a lifetime seems to have passed... or many lives... and at the same time, it's a breath!

My 2006 began in southern India, Trivandrum, while finishing a month and a half in an ashram to get my degree in International Yoga Teacher.

I returned to Europe and more or less at this time began to prepare "Savage Grace" with Julienne Moore and Eddie Redmayne; this was followed by an Italian TV movie "Il padre delle spose" with the great Lino Banfi, a controversial film because his daughter and I played a lesbian couple.

In 2007 I wrote and directed the short film "Se Ven De" which won a prize in the defunct Ibiza film festival... By that time I came to Ibiza more and more and started staying there as much as possible... until I gave a twist to my life, I left the city and settled in this paradise, developing what now occupies most of my life... our beloved DePura Ibiza... doing honour to this little piece of land that welcomes all of us!

I didn't know then that all my experiences would be the breeding ground of what I am now... Thank you, thanks for everything, infinite thanks!

Mas allá de Hollywood, allí donde el cine se vuelve exótico, existe una enorme industria cinematográfica. Telengu Cine o también llamado TOLLYWOOD. Centrado en los estados indios Andhra Pradesh y Telangana . Desde que en 1921 se produjera la primera película muda Telengu la industria allí ha crecido en el silencio para el mundo de occidente. No obstante, el talento de sus actores y actrices nos ha ido llamando la atención desde hace ya unos años.

Desde allí emerge con fuerza su gran estrella Akhil Akkineni, de origen hindú pero nacido en EE.UU (California). Hijo y nieto de actores y productores del cine Hindi. Akhil se forma en New York en el Lee Stragberg Theatre siguiendo la línea de los buenos actores que se formaron en EE.UU de la mano Konstantín Stanislavski como; Marlon Brando a la cabeza y Al Pacino que hoy en día dirige el Actors Studio de N.Y.

Muy joven realiza ya de niño un primer debut pero después y durante su educación está alejado T de las cámaras. Después de dudar si se dedicaba a la gestión empresarial se da cuenta de que su U vocación es la de seguir con la saga de enromes V actores con que cuenta su familia.

MAX – Akhil sé que tu padre deseaba que te dedicaras y estudiaras gestión de empresa pero tu decidiste ser actor, ¿cómo fue esa decisión?

AK – Yo sabía muy bien lo que quería ser pero también sabía los riesgos. La gente puede pensar que por pertenecer a una familia de cineastas todo esta hecho.Yo sabia que no iba a ser tan fácil por que tendría que demostrar más.

MAX– ¿Has venido a la isla a descansar?

AK – Si... ¡Y No! Me encanta Ibiza desde que la descubrí contigo el año pasado Max! Me gusta salir por la noche en Ibiza pero este año me propongo descubrir la otra cara de la isla. Quiero vivir otras experiencias aquí.

MAX – Vienes a cargar pilas para tu nueva película?

Puedes contarme algo?

AK - ¡No puedo Max! Pero te diré que es una bonita historia de amor y suspense que se empezará a rodar en julio.

AK – Gracias a Night&Day y a ti Max. De Akhil Akkineni me ha llamado la atención como alguien con 22 años puede tener una cabeza tan clara. Él mismo se ha cargado con una enorme presión al decidir demostrarle al mundo su talento como actor. Solo si le miras a los ojos te das cuenta de que el secreto que tiene para triunfar no es el respaldo de los grandes cineastas que tiene en su familia. Su secreto es la fe que tiene en si mismo.

Beyond Hollywood, where film becomes exotic, there is a huge film industry. Telengu Cinema or also called Tollywood. Focused on the Indian states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Since in 1921 the first silent film Telengu was produced, the industry there has grown in silence for the Western world. However, the talent of its actors and actresses has been calling our attention for a few years. From there its star Akhil Akkineni emerges strongly, of Indian origin but born in the USA (California). Son and grandson of Hind films actors and producers, Akhil is trained in New York at the Lee Theatre Stragberg, following the line of those good actors who were trained in the US by the hand of Konstantín Stanislavski; Marlon Brando in the lead and Al Pacino that today runs the Actors Studio in NY. As a very young boy he performs his first debut, but after and during his education he stays away from the cameras. After hesitating about whether to engage in business management, he realizes that he wants to follow his vocation and continue with the theatrical dynasty of huge actors available within his family.

MAX - Hi Akhil, welcome to Ibiza!

AK - Thanks Max, it's wonderful to be here again!

MAX - I want to be direct so that my readers can get to know you a little okay?

AK - Ok Max! MAX - Akhil, I know that your father wanted you to

dedicate yourself and study business management, but you decided to be an actor, how was that decision made?

AK - I knew very well what I wanted to be, but I also knew the risks. People may think that because you belong to a family of filmmakers everything is done for you. I knew it wasn't going to be so easy as I would have to show more.

MAX - Have you come to the island to rest?

AK - Yes... and not! I've loved Ibiza since I discovered it with you last year, Max! I like going out at night in Ibiza but this year I intend to discover the other side of the island. I want to live other experiences here.

MAX - Are you coming to recharge your batteries for your new film? Can you tell me something?

AK - I can't Max! But I’ll tell you it's a beautiful love and suspense story that we'll start shooting in July.

MAX - Akhil, we from Night&Day Magazine and myself on its behalf, would like to thank you for being so kind to grant this interview.

What struck me most from Akhil Akkineni is how someone who's 22 can have such a clear head. He himself has taken on an enormous pressure when had to decide to show the world his talent as an actor. Only if you look into his eyes, you realize that the secret he has to succeed is not supported by the great filmmakers he has in his family. His secret is the faith he has in himself.

I live in San Jordi, Ibiza. I came many years ago as a tourist, first to enjoy the island’s famous entertainment.

Then I was here working as a photographer to use a particular light and I discovered the many other cultural aspects of the White Island. I discovered why Ibiza is magic…

I have participated in many magazine and newspaper publications, with photos and articles about lifestyle and travel. Awesome Ibiza is my first book fully published alone. A: Me enamoré de la isla desde la primera vez que la pise. Y aquí sigo 11 años después.

J: Espiritual y laboral, medio corazón es madrileño y medio ibicenco, me enamoré.

A: Amavida en una ONGD centrada en ayudar a los más desfavorecidos, especialmente niños y mujeres. Ahora nos encontramos trabajando en Nepal tras los terremotos del pasado abril del 2015. Colaboramos con gente local para hacer llegar la ayuda de forma directa. Estamos ayudando en la reconstrucción de una escuela en el pueblo de Nala, lugar muy afectado por el seismo. Nuestro futuro proyecto es construir un orfanato para niños de la zona que quedaron huérfanos tras la catástrofe

A: Amavida in an NGO focused on helping the disadvantaged, especially children and women.

Now we are working in Nepal after the April 2015 earthquake. We are working with local people to get aid directly to those in need. We are helping to rebuild a school in the village of Nala, a place that was very affected by the earthquake. Our future project is to build an orphanage for the local children who were orphaned after the disaster.

Tal vez habréis escuchado aquí y allá la palabra hackathon; ¿Pero, qué significa?

El término Hackathon es la fusión de dos palabras; hacker y maratón. Por lo tanto, un hackathon es un evento al que asisten los ”hackers”, un término que en este contexto se utiliza para identificar los expertos en desarrollo de software, pero no sólo. De hecho, pueden participar incluso los expertos en economía y marketing, un aspecto igualmente importante en el desarrollo de una aplicación. El término “maratón” se refiere a la duración del evento que va desde 24 a 36 horas. ¿Cómo funciona esto? Un hackathon comienza con la presentación por parte de las empresas invitadas o los organizadores, de las principales cuestiones en las que los "hackers" tienen que concentrarse. Perhaps you've heard here and there the word hackathon; but what does it mean?

Giulia, cuéntanos acerca del lado crecimiento personal y sobre todo las grandes oportunidades que ofrece esta isla. artístico de la isla...

Esta isla está llena de arte, de los etruscos, a los hippies hasta nuestros días.

Mi arte, sobre el que quiero hablar y del que me ocupo, es el arte de la expresión, que transmite sentimientos a través del cuerpo, la danza, la acrobacia, el movimiento.

Gracias a la fuerte inspiración que transmite esta isla, todo tipo de espectáculos han desarrollado aquí. Al igual que un gran gimnasio, una sala de ensayos, nuestra Isla Blanca ha dado paso a artistas como yo para expresarse bailando y experimentando las artes corporales de expresión en todos los rincones.

De hecho, no muchos conocen Icarus, la escuela de circo en Ibiza que forma los artistas profesionales, gestionada por el gran Javier De Roa, fundador de la empresa Cirkomentarios.

Por no hablar de las muchas escuelas de danza y gimnástica que preparan a los artistas y bailarines de espectáculos de alto nivel.

Y si queréis ir más profundamente en el cuerpo y el alma, no os perdáis el Ibiza Tango Love, el festival de danza más sensual e interior que se pueda experimentar.

Como opino, Ibiza es una madre que acuna y que te da lo que necesitas para crecer. Depende de nosotros beneficiarse de ella. La isla abre las puertas del éxito, pero el compromiso y la profesionalidad de cada uno te permiten mantenerlas abiertas.

Así era mi camino, consciente de que también tenía que merecer lo que la isla me ofrecía. Es por eso que continué estudiando más y más disciplinas artísticas, también trabajando sobre mi misma para asegurarme de que este gran circo del mundo del espectáculo en Ibiza no me llevara fuera de la realidad, de lo que soy como persona.

Inicialmente llegó el éxito de los clubes, donde me conocen gracias a mi baile y mi sonrisa.

Entonces me he especializado en las artes acrobáticas y, con el fin de entender mejor mi alma, he empezado a estudiar el tango.

A esto, añadí la meditación, el yoga y largos períodos de tiempo cuando, en las playas desiertas del norte, me desconecto de todo.

Creo que su evolución ha ido en paralelo con la de la isla en general, todo se ha vuelto más comercial, pero al mismo tiempo también más profesional.

Quiero citar los espectáculos de hace muchos años de Manumission, que fueron los primeros en llevar artistas acróbatas de Cuba. En ese momento era algo tan original como la misma fiesta donde actuaban. Ahora acróbatas y contorsionistas son un poco en todas partes, pero el profesionalismo de los espectáculos que se representan significa que el nivel de los artistas es cada vez más alto y los espectáculos más y más específicos y adaptados a la misma fiesta.

Como artista me ejercito 2-3 veces a la semana, haciendo yoga y meditación todas las mañanas.

Por otra parte, este verano me voy a dedicar a varias direcciones artísticas y esto implica el movimiento, reuniones, creaciones, y sobre todo una intensa relación con muchos artistas de la isla. Me siento muy afortunada y agradecida de tener a mi alrededor artistas tan profesionales y de alto nivel, como Caroline Blot, Javier De Roa, Joe Burley, Judah Luna y muchos otros.

Cuéntanos acerca de un día típico para ti.

¿Cuál ha sido la evolución artística de 2016 vino a mí lleno de oportunidades que estimulan mi creación al máximo.

¿Cuál es por ti el arte en general?

El arte para mí es la expresión de lo que vibra en el alma. Es cerrar los ojos y escuchar al corazón, para expresar amor incondicional.

Salva Schiera alias EMOJI, nació en Palermo en 1985.

Asistió a la escuela de arte local y a los 20 años se trasladó a Londres para buscar su fortuna. Londres trajo muchos nuevos sentimientos y oportunidades, por eso dejó su pasión por el arte para trabajar en la industria de la vida nocturna. Comenzó a trabajar en relaciones públicas para los clubes más famosos de Londres. Luego se trasladó a Ibiza, colaborando con organizaciones importantes, como CADENZA y MUSIC ON. Estas experiencias abrieron muchas puertas, que lo llevaron a un trabajo de relaciones públicas en Miami y Nueva York. Con el tiempo comenzó a trabajar para uno de los festivales más grandes del mundo, The BPM Festival en México. Pero su necesidad de expresar su talento artístico nunca se desvaneció, llevándolo a tomar tiempo libre de la escena nocturna. Su primer trabajo de arte fue creado en la casa de un amigo que le ofreció sus paredes como un lienzo en blanco para poderse expresar.

Esto le permitió salir de la oscuridad y ver lo positivo de la vida. Desde ese momento muchos han llegado a apreciar su arte, y cada día más lugares de Ibiza están representados por su estilo. Esto condujo a una escalada hacia arriba, y al final del verano de 2015, su fe en Dios lo llevó a Argentina. En este viaje conoció a la familia Bergonzi, una familia inspiradora que le dio la fuerza para afrontar con determinación los cambios en la vida. De Rosario y Buenos Aires llegó a Miami, donde comenzó a crear arte en vivo alrededor de la ciudad, además de un mural gigante para THREEHOUSE, uno de los principales clubes underground de Miami. Hoy hay muchas obras que se pueden encontrar alrededor de Italia, España y EE.UU. Este verano nace un nuevo proyecto, inspirado en un artista de Los Ángeles. El nuevo estilo contará con emoji, marcas de moda y dibujos animados, una mezcla de colores y el arte pop.

Eventually he began working for one of the biggest festivals of the world, The BPM Festival in Mexico. But his need to express his artistic talent never faded, leading him to take time off from the nightlife scene. His first work of art was created at the home of a friend who offered him his house walls as a blank canvass to express himself. This allowed him to get out of darkness and see the positive in life. Since that time many people have come to appreciate his art, and every day more places in Ibiza are represented by his style. This led to an upward climb, and at the end of the summer of 2015 his faith in God took him to Argentina. On this journey he met the Bergonzi Family, an inspirational family that gave him the strength to face with determination the changes in life. From Rosario and Buenos Aires he reached Miami, where he began creating live art around the city, eventually creating a giant mural for THREEHOUSE, one of Miami's top underground clubs. Currently there are many works that can be found around Italy, Spain and the United States.

This summer a new project is born, inspired by a Los Angeles artist. The new style will feature emoji, fashion brands and cartoons, a mix of colors and pop art.

Cada vez que veo a los clientes que sacan limones de nuestros árboles, noto su deseo de tener contacto con la naturaleza, que tal vez parece estar muy lejos para los que vienen de la ciudad. Entiendo el deseo de llevar en la ciudad algo que puede traer de vuelta a la memoria nuestra isla, nuestros perfumes, nuestros sabores. El único problema es que una vez en los árboles los clientes ¡no siempre logran bajar! Así que hemos optado por darles a la salida unas mermeladas caseras, evitando incidentes desagradables.

Ogni volta che vedo i clienti portare via i limoni che raccolgono dai nostri alberi noto il loro desiderio di avere un contatto con la natura, che magari sembra lontana per chi viene dalla città. Capisco la voglia di portarsi in città qualcosa che possa far riaffiorare alla memoria la nostra isola, i nostri profumi, i nostri sapori.

L’unico problema è che una volta sugli alberi non sempre i clienti riescono a scendere! Perciò abbiamo optato per regalare a fine soggiorno delle marmellate fatte in casa, evitando così spiacevoli inconvenienti.

El concepto de hotel boutique se está imponiendo un poco por todas partes y proponer novedades es difícil. Creo que una estructura como la nuestra en Ibiza puede funcionar porque permanecer en un lugar donde se respira paz y armonía después de todo el alboroto que se vive en la isla es ideal. Por supuesto intentaremos respetar la tipicidad del lugar y de su historia, sin hacer una copia de nuestra estructura, sino llevar las cosas buenas que hemos aprendido para fusionarlas con la cultura ibicenca, a la que soy muy aficionado y que no encuentro muy lejos de la nuestra.

Muchos ven Ibiza como un lugar de diversión y transgresión, pero yo veo un montón de relajación, un paisaje impresionante y el bienestar. Después de todo, todo el mundo ve lo que quiere ver.

Credo che a Ibiza una struttura come la nostra possa funzionare perché alloggiare in un luogo dove si respira pace e armonia dopo tutto il trambusto che si vive sull’isola è ideale. Naturalmente cercheremmo di rispettare la tipicità del posto e la sua storia, senza fare una copia della nostra struttura ma portando quanto di buono abbiamo imparato per fonderlo con la cultura ibizenca, a cui sono molto affezionato e che non trovo distante dalla nostra.

Molti vedono Ibiza come un luogo di divertimento e trasgressione, ma io vedo tanto relax, paesaggi mozzafiato e benessere. Del resto ognuno vede ciò che vuole vedere.

Yo diría que Night&Day. Trato de vivir mi día lo mejor que puedo y cuando estoy de vacaciones las energías nunca fallan.

También depende del lugar donde estoy, tal vez soy más night en Ibiza!

Direi Night&Day. Cerco di vivere la giornata al meglio e quando sono i vacanza le energie non mancano mai.

Lo que estamos viviendo probablemente será recordado como uno de los años más negros de la música. La desaparición de grandes artistas como David Bowie, Prince, el guitarrista Paul Kantner de los Jefferson Airplane, el autor de "Woderful Life" Black, el fundador y líder de Earth Wind & Fire Maurice White, uno de los músicos símbolo del Rock Progresivo Keith Emerson y George Martin, productor histórico de los Beatles, para nosotros crecidos con sus canciones es una gran pérdida.

Sino también la generación más joven está experimentando el final de una era, con la decadencia de la EDM, el género que dominó la escena de los festivales y clubes de los últimos 10 años.

No voy a tratar de analizar las causas y las consecuencias, pero me gustaría ver que la música siempre nos reserva grandes emociones y sorpresas inesperadas. De hecho, si un género musical acaba su empuje innovador y se vuelve repetitivo, las ganas de bailar y divertirse van en busca de nuevos sonidos y ritmos. Y esta es la razón de la explosión, que muchos consideran inesperada, del reggaeton, hip hop y géneros urbanos.

La fiesta más famosa para que miles de niñas hagan twerk en la pista italiana es sin duda Mamacita.

Nacida en Lignano Sabbiadoro en 2011 gracias a la reunión entre Gianluigi Ottomeni (director artístico de varios clubes italianos) y Roc Stars (colectivo activo durante muchos años en el mundo del hip hop, R&B y dancehall), aterrizó en 2013 en Pineta Club de Formentera a través de Andrea Pellizzari.

La reunión y la asociación con Max Brigante (DJ hip hop y presentador de Radio105) finalmente transforma esta fiesta en un proyecto real que permitió a la marca MAMACITA convertirse en un líder de entretenimiento hip hop, R&B, reggaeton, con una gira de verano de más de 90 fechas en los más importantes clubes y festivales italianos.

Mamacita en las Islas Baleares es todos los miércoles en Pineta Club de Formentera con Andrea Pellizzari y Max Brigante.

Questo che stiamo vivendo probabilmente verrà ricordato come uno degli anni più neri per la musica. Non voglio cercare di analizzarne le cause e le conseguenze, ma mi piace constatare che la musica ci riserva sempre grandi emozioni e sorprese inaspettate. Infatti se un genere musicale esaurisce la sua spinta innovativa e diventa ripetitivo, la voglia di ballare e di divertimento va alla ricerca di nuovi suoni e nuove ritmiche.

Ed è questo il motivo dell'esplosione, che molti considerano inaspettata, del reggaeton, dell'hip hop e dei generi urban.

Il party più famoso che fa twerkare migliaia di ragazze sulle dancefloor italiane é sicuramente Mamacita. Nato a Lignano Sabbiadoro nel 2011 grazie all’incontro tra Gianluigi Ottomeni (direttore artistico di vari club italiani) e Roc Stars (collettivo attivo da diversi anni nel mondo hip hop, R&B e dancehall), sbarca nel 2013 al Pineta Club di Formentera grazie a Andrea Pellizzari.

En el grupo de Facebook, que manejo desde hace seis años, una cosa une a las casi cinco mil personas del grupo; hablan todo el año de Formentera para compensar la gran nostalgia provocada por la lejanía de esas vacaciones anuales que, a toda costa, cada año hay que hacer. Para muchos de nosotros, de hecho, TENEMOS que ir a Formentera, así como TENEMOS que respirar. No hay mucho que elegir...

Sus playas cada año atraen a miles de turistas y entre ellos siempre hay alguien que se va con algo más: una inexplicable necesidad de saber cuándo va a volver.

Estas son las personas que están en sintonía con el aire de la isla y que sienten que no se pueden separar más de ella completamente. Pero ¿por qué?¿Qué tiene Formentera más de otras islas igualmente bellas del Mediterráneo? Además de sus aguas caribeñas, ¿qué es lo que la hace única e irreemplazable? (de Formentera no existe) En realidad, no sé. O mejor dicho, no lo sé describir en palabras, pero puedo intentar: en Formentera se nos siente más libre que en otros lugares y es más fácil creer que nuestros sueños, los que a menudo nos condujeron a renunciar a todo, no sean todavía "caducados", pero están ahí listos para ser realizados.

Aquí, lo superfluo no tiene sentido y te encuentras en el presente, sumergido en el aquí y el ahora, y estás bien. Sin quejarte, sin juicio. En Formentera se ES. No importa exactamente qué. Pero eres más fieles a ti mismos. El por qué, no lo sé.

Para aquellos que busquen una excusa para volver a Formentera, mi blog muestra todas las fechas y los detalles para participar en Formentera Ladies (septiembre) y Formentera Gourmet (octubre).

Sul gruppo di Facebook che gestisco da sei anni, una cosa accomuna le quasi cinquemila persone che vi fanno parte: si parla tutto l’anno di Formentera per sopperire alla grande nostalgia provocata dalla lontananza di quella vacanza annuale che, a qualsiasi costo, ogni anno si DEVE fare. Per molti di noi, infatti, si DEVE andare a Formentera, così come si deve respirare. Non si ha molta scelta…

Le sue spiagge attirano ogni anno migliaia di turisti e tra loro c’è sempre qualcuno che riparte con qualcosa in più: un inspiegabile bisogno di sapere quando potrà ritornare. Sono le persone che si sono sintonizzate con il respiro dell’isola a sentire di non potersene più distaccare completamente. Ma perché? Cosa possiede Formentera in più rispetto ad altre isole altrettanto belle del Mediterraneo?

Oltre alle sue acque caraibiche, cos’è che la rende unica e insostituibile? (da Formentera non esiste) In realtà, non lo so. O meglio, non lo so descrivere a parole, ma posso provarci: a Formentera ci si sente più liberi rispetto ad altri luoghi ed è più facile credere che i propri sogni, quelli a cui spesso tutto ci ha portato a rinunciare, non siano ancora “scaduti”, ma siano lì pronti a essere realizzati. Qui, il superfluo non ha senso e ci si ritrova nel presente, immersi nel solo qui e ora, a stare bene. Senza lamenti, senza giudizi. A Formentera si È. Non importa esattamente cosa. Ma si è più fedeli a se stessi. Il perché, non lo so.
