SPORTS REPORT BY PAUL ALLEN TAMPA BAY BUCS At press time we are days away from the NFL draft. By now the Bucs have added a few new players and they just might be the luckiest rookies in the league! They get to start their NFL journey playing with the GOAT! Can you imagine being drafted by Tampa Bay and know that you have a chance to win a Super Bowl, a chance to play with Tom Brady, have a game in Germany and play a schedule that includes the who’s who in the NFL … LA Rams, SF 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, KC Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys? Well … the last part may not be so lucky as the Bucs play the hardest schedule in the league but you get my drift! The 2022 NFL schedule will be released on May 12!
TAMPA BAY RAYS Damn those injuries! The Rays have started the season with a few injuries to their starting pitchers but this team is so deep and so resilient it amazes me! Kevin Cash and the front office have put together a team and farm system that seems to overcome everything that is thrown their way. I am ultra-impressed with shortstop Wander Franco. This kid is an out-and-out superstar! He can hit, throw, run and play excellent defense. When people ask who are the best players in baseball … Wander’s name needs to be right up there with Trout, Acuna, Soto and others … he is a stud!

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING It’s playoff time and the Bolts are going for a three-peat! After watching the team flounder for a while, they seemed to get their shit together the last week of the regular season and look ready to defend their two Stanley Cups! Winning the Cup is one of the hardest things to do in sports. You have to beat multiple teams four times to advance and the game is fast and hard-hitting. We are a bit spoiled here in Tampa Bay after winning Lord Stanley’s Trophy the past two years but I honestly believe we have a chance to do it again. I know that there are really solid teams out their but you can never dismiss a squad that has players like Stammer, Hedman, Kooch, Point and Vasy … Go Bolts !!
MISC SPORTS – The first Saturday in May is one of my favorite days as the Kentucky Derby is raced at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. This year the race should be very competitive with 20 scheduled starters . Epicenter is the 2022 Kentucky Derby favorite at 5-1, with Taiba (6-1), Messier (6-1), Zandon (6-1) and Mo Donegal (8-1) among the contenders. I will give my picks online with my Paul Allen Sports page on Facebook! On May 19-22, The PGA Golf Championship will take place on Kiawah Island, South Carolina … but don’t forget the NightMoves Charity Golf Tournament will take place on June 25 at Tarpon Woods Golf Course.
