A LONG-TERM TRAINING COURSE ON BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN EUROPE
Project Context The year of 2016 has brought a wide chaos to our society, caused both by refugee-crisis and the reaction by the hosts. There has been a drastic increase in number of radicalization of individuals on one hand, and on the other increased number of attacks, hate crimes, isolation of the minorities, ethnic groups, religious groups and refugees. The problem is more acute in youth, mostly they end up as victims of the violence of all the forms mentioned above. We believe that there is a special need for youth workers to conduct their work adequately to the situation; to hold the competences to state their position, to act relevantly towards the issue, have a constant feedback with their peers, to educate, motivate and spread peaceful message. They are also often one of the first ones in line who detect problems in young individuals. Therefore, they need the set of skills to advocate and mediate. These facts show the necessity to increase the capacities of the organization not only to tackle and prevent hate speech, but also give them a set of competences that would help them to react, advocate, lead and use non-violent crisis communication. Aim of this project is to raise the efficiency of the local/international activities fighting against hate speech and discrimination in all its forms through enabling youth workers to become "no hate speech ambassadors", who will tackle these issues in their various forms. Following objectives were set: • to explore the concepts of hate speech and other forms of discrimination; • to reflect on how hate speech affects the community on regional and European levels; • to open the topic of possible strategies and activities combating hate speech and violence; • to develop youth workers' competencies in dealing with hate speech in the youth work and in their communities, such as non-violent communication and action, dialogue, crisis communication, media literacy etc. • to create a network of "No Hate Speech Ambassadors" acting on Online and Off line space; • to discuss and improve cognition in the field of non-formal learning, and by that achieve skills on how to multiply notions of No Hate Speech Movement in future projects - to realize the opportunities of Erasmus+; • to support the implementation of the long-term projects on the local or international levels. This project consists of two training courses and an intermediate phase in-between: 1. TC - in Château de Fondru, ANJOU (Isère), France - 15-22 August, 2017 2. Intermediate activities back home - where participants will implement the activities using human rights education and activism with young people; 3. TC/Seminar - in Misaktsieli, Georgia - Dates to be set (October, November);
The first activity of is a training course in France brings together youth workers aiming to make them “No Hate Ambassadors” in their communities. They will do this through a series of activities that explore the concepts and realities of hate speech and violence in their communities and how this impacts young people and has an effect on the regular basis. They will explore how mass media and social media work and gain understanding of how young people in their communities are influenced. It is also important to acknowledge and understand our own contribution to hate speech and violence through our own stereotypes, prejudice and actions that each of us takes consciously or subconsciously. Through this the participants will be in a strong position to become active witnesses, to begin developing strategies and activities to combat hate and become No Hate Ambassadors. The INTERMEDIATE PHASE aims to transfer the competences gained throughout the first activity to the target audiences of the youth workers participating in the project. Participants will be planning in the national groups projects/activities/workshops that they will conduct after they finish the first activity. This will enhance their motivation, sense of responsiveness, commitment and readiness to act. For the second activity in Georgia specific tools related to non-violence and dialogue will be introduced or developed during the second TC of the project. The participants will explore the role of how they see a “No Hate Ambassador”. This second activity will see a closer relation between the participants and the partner organizations as specific plans are developed for each local community represented. They will also have space to develop joint projects between partner organisations, also based on the theme of “no hate”. The trainer team will be providing support and mentoring opportunities throughout the whole training course. The second term will also aim to make the participating organizations “No Hate Embassy”, the places which will advocate the victims of hate and try to prevent hate speech. We will also create a social media page and webpage of “International No Hate Embassy” which will share the same aim Online.
A youth campaign of the Council of Europe for human rights online, to reduce the levels of acceptance of hate speech and to develop online youth participation and citizenship, including in Internet governance processes. More on: www.nohatespeechmovement.org

Travel Arrangements
The accommodation and meals (3) are covered under the Erasmus+ programme. The first activity - training course will take place in Anjou. Anjou village (1 000 inhabitants) is a residential district without any activity (just a baker: no bar, no dancing, no hotel, no restaurant, no public transport). It’s a nice green place in the Rhône Valley; private car is necessary to go and buy something (at 9 km : Le Péage de Roussillon). But the Carrefours and other hyper markets on the High way N° 7 do not offer any original products: you’ll find the same ones in any duty free airport.
The travel costs are reimbursed under Erasmus+ programme according to the travel limits (50EUR is deducted as a participation fee).
Fondru Castle is refurbished as a Youth Hostel. It is officially recognized by the French Youth and Sport Ministry to receive hikers groups, sport clubs and training courses, with rooms from 2 / 4 beds and large spaces for workshops and a big park all around. The informatic room, after recent harms, is not available. WI FI doesn’t go very well for the walls’ thickness. Some views of the castle and the region are available in the video we realized in April 2016 during a TC about “Open air Sports + Bi-tri-multi”: https://vimeo.com/130851172. The Fondru Castle’address : montée du Village, 38150 ANJOU. Bedrooms are large and heated, with private shower and wc, without elevator. YOU HAVE TO BRING YOUR TOWEL and other personal toilet effects. Organizers recommend NOT TO BRING ANY VALUABLES: in all international meetings exists the risk to loose (or to steal) smartphone, laptop, cameras etc. August is the top of summer time in France: 20/25 °. Summer clothes are recommanded. Shoes for walking, swimsuits and swimming suits... We recommend to check the weather online before coming. Insurance is not covered under Erasmus+ programme, we strongly urge you to have one for your travel. Be ready for multi-culti evening - bring some info or experiences from your community. Bring some food and drinks, the kitchen will be at your disposal.
