This project concerns the urban configuration of the pedestrian street that connects the two archaeological museums in the area of Ancient Olympia. The intervention aims at the remodeling of the already existing pedestrian street for the benefit of tourism development and the highlighting of the importance of this place. Urban lines tries to unite the two museums located at the crossing of the pedestrian street and offer visitors various stops and amenities such as a waiting stop, an entertainment, observation stop and more. A unifying link of the whole configuration are these engravings created by the associations of the edges of the balconies of the various buildings located on the pedestrian street, which create in turn the form of the new canopy that comes to invest the whole intervention over the pedestrian street. The canopy, finally, is studied and shaped according to the movements of the sun to offer the appropriate shading in all tourist seasons. This new intervention wants to become a new landmark for the area that comes in conjunction with the archaeological site and its history. A connection between the old and the new.

This project concerns the design of a new ecological and susstainable complex of buildings in the urban environment of the city of Wrocław, next to the mouth of the river that rains it. More specifically, taking into account all the climatic conditions prevailing in the city and its energy needs, we designed a complex of buildings with different uses such as laboratories, organic market, educational spaces and more. Wanting to bring as little footprint as possible to the environment, we designed a square grid on which we came and placed with absolute mathematical accuracy all our cubes respecting the existing vegetation and adding additionally to them. We strengthen our buildings with modern methods to be energy independent, in terms of water and the use of solar energy, while at the same time we choose materials that offer better insulation and protection from various weather phenomena.

Costa Nuova Design project for Architectural Design 8, 2020 Collaboration with N. Kouris Supervisor prof. D. Giannisis Location: Old Port of Patras, Greece

We chose for the intervention area the part of the old port between Marina and Agios Dionysios. It is an area consisting mainly of building blocks of residences, the choice of this area was based on the criterion of human presence. A lack of public socialization and relief was observed through the analysis of the area. The creation of the port changed forever the appearance of the natural coastline replacing it with an artificial platform of commercial use. On the occasion of the undergrounding of the train, we create a new alignment that essentially restores a new coastline, which withdraws the old and robust piers and creates a landscape accessible and friendly to residents, acting as a new landmark for the area. This new coastline was designed, taking into account future natural changes and rising sea levels. So Costa Nuova comes as a shield to protect the city, while at the same time it creates a new water network that can be used by the residents. Inside it encases a building of public character, which includes cultural uses while at the same time redesigning the old train station. Always based on modern data, maintaining however its classic character and form. Finally, the Costa Nuova does not lack the public square and the outdoor relaxation and recreation areas as well as a new marina for the parking of boats.

Ideo Andros (arch Ideon Andron) or Arsenio is a cave on a plateau on Mount Idi (Psiloritis) of Crete, in which, according to Greek mythology, Zeus was raised, hence the so-called "Cretan" from his infancy. His entrance was quarded by the Kouretes, mythical figures, and every time little Zeus cried, they would hit their swords on the shields they held so that Saturn would not hear his cry. In another version, the Kouretes danced a dance very intense. The box, like a piece of rock cut off from the earth, is transformed into the personal holiday space of the modern people. The compact structure of the box is deconstructed inside and manages to accommodate all the comforts that one encounters in a tourist resort. The connection of the exterior to the interior is achieved with a platform that operated a threshold. Taking into account the restrictive measures due to the pandemic at the entrance you measure the temperature of the visitor. Entering the holiday box is driven to the bathroom where the catharsis occurs. Now the visitor is free to create his personal experiences. The aquatic element has an important place in our proposal, as a new ground, giving the feeling that a visitor is at the seafront. Creating different levels associated with water make up different conversations each time. With the help of technology he can communicate, have fun with his friends and choose his own viewing frame. The reality is not far from renegotiating the concept of semi-outdoor space creating a slit in the roof that is the bridge to the outside world. The box as another concrete stone can be transported and repositioned in any environment.
