Hello!

I’m Jack the Jackalope. Nice to meet you!

Introduction: For this design I decided to use a modern illustration style, with an easy to animate body form, and a very expressive face. His body form, was specifically designed to be different and easy to recognize by the users, creating an iconic design for the brand. I decided to use an animal character, because in some cases people have a hard time relating to human character (especially mascots, since their personalities cannot be fully develop), for example a blond boy character is easy to relate with blond boys, but tends to take more time for girls,

brunets boys and black boys to relate to him, animals and creatures tend to be easier to relate, because they don’t represent an specific group of people. The animal chosen for the design was a Jackalope (mythological creature, a hybrid between rabbit and deer), mainly because rabbits are very popular animals around the world, so everyone using th app will recognize it, but at the same time adding a small out-of-place detail like the horns makes the character more memorable and unique.

Chapter 4: CHARACTER USE

Character animation example: This is an example of how the character could be seen when animated. Each of the joints are separated allowing full mobility on the character.

If you’re happy and you know it,

clap your hands.

If you’re happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it.

If you’re happy and you know it,

stomp your feet.
