Description To redesign a photo book, I used the LED ZEPPELIN biography. The design is based on geometric figures with bright yellow and red, which corresponds to the bass players’ favorite instrument. In addition, the “four–lines” figure throughout the work symbolizes the guitar strings. This design aims to use bold colors and figures to convey the ROCK spirit of music.

Description This design is about my imagination on the stories happened in a laundromat, on how does the atmosphere feel like, what do people do and who do they may meet. I used the scattered set of types to imitate the sounds in a laundry room, and I also used warmer colors to lead the audiences to a sun warmed, quiet afternoon in a laundry room where people may wait, read books and enjoy the time of themselves.

Description The greasy food culture and unhealthy meal habit has been my concern since I came to the United States. SInce only few has awareness on how serious this issue actually is, I designed this book in order to explore how the American food culture forms. I conducted a lot of research on the food culture in addition to a survey study on people’s meal habit. According to all the studies, I found out what the biggest concern among the public is and what kind of help do people actually need. Eventually I used graphic design with figures of traditional American high–calories food to draw people’s attention to the issue.

Description This part of creation is for director Danny Boyle’s film festival, who is famous for the movie “Trainspotting”. The film festival design includes environment settings, image design, posters, tickets and packaging of movie products such as DVD, program sheet and film festival introductory. The theme of the festival is “before dawn”, using darker colors with faintly bright light to tell audiences what most films of the director are about, and they are about surviving, fighting and reviving to the light even it’s the darkest time of all. So to bring out the idea, most packagings were designed by the idea of opening a black, dark box to find the light of hope.

Description This design aims to redecorate the image of a shop selling homemade chocalate and Blue–Bottle coffee. I redesigned the coffee cups, the bags, the coffee bean packages, the ads and billboards, and the brochure that introduces different types of coffee. The illustrations design of the brochure is unified by simple hand-drawing figures. The main purpose is to bring customers the warmth and pride of the shop on their homemade products. And the packaging part is overall redesigned by gunny material, in order to promote the brand name recognition on their coffee beans among customers.

Description The covers and introductions of three books were redesigned to look like they’re from the same publisher, but in the mean time, to carry out their own independent characters. So, the watercolor was used in all the backgrounds and the text layouts are in the same format to connect three designs visually. But at the same time, the covers are in different style according to the book contents, so that the audiences can understand the ideas of the books at their first sight.

Description In order to redefine a descending brand and give directions to their company services, I chose the historical sports wear brand, FILA, and tried to expand its definition based on the original spirit. I hope the public can see this redefined brand as not only a sports gear business, but also as an image of self-challenging and limit–pushing. The “NEW FILA” has become a consulting company helping the customers to set up and arrange any challenging sport activities they can think of, including all the gears and any insurance. In order to connect to the new definition of the brand, in the logo I used a triangle shape in the character to express “SKY IS THE LIMIT”, and colors of green and yellow were used to associate to outdoor activities and sunshine. In general, the whole design is filled with bold colored triangle–shaped blocks to immediately show the NEW FILA’s passion to their customers.

Description This design is for a Tattoo Museum and aims to build up its identity through designs of business systems, tickets, post cards, paper bags and etc. The whole design follows the idea that every single tattoo is gradually and slowly engraved on people’s skin, by every different tattoo master, in every unique style. The abundant usage of color black allows people to appreciate the pure beauty of every tattoo, and treat them as pieces of art.

Description Now, try to imagine the books in the future. This book design shows my imagination on books in the future, which are not in papers, but rather a thin and foldable displaying device with all content in it. In the future, books made out of paper are seldom used and reading is not just about words and sentences. Readers in the future can actually feel the books, sense the atmosphere within. Putting all these ideas together with hand窶電rawing figures and photos, this design shows that the cutting edge technology is not only about the progress of mankind but also contains the warmth of humanity.
