Minhas primeiras semanas na posição de presidente da empresa, conhecendo e interagindo com nossas equipes e clientes, me deixaram ainda mais motivado. Nossa frota, que já conta com as aeronaves mais modernas, ganhou dois consideráveis reforços: um jato Legacy 650 com capacidade para 13 passageiros e um Phenom 300 com capacidade para oito, ambos da Embraer. Passion for flying It was with great pleasure and pride that I received and accepted the invitation from Global Aviation’s shareholders to be part of this winning team. After more than 20 years experience in the Brazilian aviation market, I accepted this challenge certain that, despite the difficulties the Brazilian economy is facing, my dedication and motivation to learn and share my professional experience with our employees, partners and customers, my passion for flying and doing the right things in a simple and transparent way, will produce good results very soon. My first few weeks as the company’s chairman, meeting and getting to know our teams and customers have left me even more motivated. I hope to use this and other channels of communication with you, our customers and friends, to provide you with news of the company and meet the demands that can contribute to creating an ever better relationship. Since its incorporation, Global has presented a path of steady growth. In the first semester of this year, the company made two important advances in this process. On June, we had the pleasure of inaugurating our hangar at Bertram Luiz Leupolz Airport in Sorocaba. The fourth largest city in the state of São Paulo, in demographic terms, Sorocaba invested in modernizing its airport, which, given its strategic location, near the capital, is an excellent choice to ease the airfields in the metropolitan area.

Our hangar, covering an area of 6 thousand square meters, has the capacity to accommodate 17 aircraft inside and ten on the outdoor patio. It has a VIP room and room for the crew offering the recognized global standard. This new base will enable us to add maintenance services to the current portfolio, offering more convenience and savings to our customers. Our fleet, which already includes the most modern aircraft, received two significant reinforcements: A Legacy 650 jet with capacity for 13 passengers and a Phenom 300 with seating for eight, both from Embraer. And, to make your travel even more enjoyable, we have excelled in this issue of the in-flight magazine. We have an article on the elegant and cosmopolitan Courchevel ski resort, a disputed attraction in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, that attracts demanding skiers from all over the world with its first-rate restaurants and challenging slopes. And Viña Vik, in the Valle de Millahue, Chile, is another destination to be revealed in the following pages: the design of the boutique hotel is reminiscent of the architect Frank Gehry and is surrounded by vineyards which spread throughout the immense property. Paz e amor Jude Law, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Bono Vox e Mick Jagger já passaram por lá. O hotel e resort GoldenEye, em Oracabessa, na Jamaica, tem uma história intimamente ligada a algumas das maiores celebridades contemporâneas. A propriedade de 52 hectares era originalmente a casa de praia do escritor britânico Ian Fleming, criador do agente 007, o James Bond. Mais recentemente, foi comprada por Chris Blackwell, fundador da Island Records, que reformulou a residência original de três dormitórios, e construiu outras 18 vilas, algumas voltadas para a praia e outras para a lagoa privativa. Blackwell quis manter a aura descontraída da casa do escritor, que recebia amigos para banhos de sol na costa intocada, e incrementou as opções com atividades zen e atrações gastronômicas que exploram com talento os ingredientes frescos da região. The Goldeneye resort hotel, located in oracabessa, Jamaica, has some of the major contemporary celebrities connected to its history. The 52 hectare propriety was originally owned by the British Ian Flemming, the creator of 007 James Bond, who kept a beach house there. more recently, it was bought by chris Blackwell, founder of Island records, who renovated the original three-bedroom house and built eighteen villas, each of them either facing the beach or the private pool. Blackwell wanted to maintain the relaxed atmosphere of the author’s original house, who welcomed friends to sunbathe on the untouched coast, but also added new options such as zen activities and gourmet attractions that skillfully make use of the regional fresh ingredients. Guests can choose from three options: low cay beach, located on the beach, and the Bizot bar, a few steps from the sea, provide light meals, cocktails and wines; the Gazebo, meanwhile, is open at night and serves international cuisine, delighting guests with the dazzling view of the pool. Field Spa offers a variety of treatments and experienced Yoga instructors give classes with views of the sunset or on top of stand-up paddle boards on the pool. Delícias da estação: a cozinha do chef Jérôme Banctel privilegia os ingredientes frescos

Aberto no início do ano, o La Réserve Paris Hotel & SPA oferece vistas para o Grand Palais, Torre Eiffel e obelisco de La Concorde a partir de suas varandas. O proprietário, Michel Reybier, comprou a mansão construída em 1854 pelo Duque de Morny, e promoveu uma grande reforma que deixou o espaço elegante e ligeiramente estranho, com um toque autoral no design. Um dos destaques é o restaurante Le Gabriel, que vem sendo saudado como uma das melhores novidades da capital francesa. O chef Jérôme Banctel conseguiu vencer o desafio de estar à altura de dois vizinhos estrelados, o Pavillion Ledoyen e o Epicure, de Yannick Alléno e Eric Frechon, respectivamente. Apesar de já ter trocado de cardápio três vezes desde o início do ano, Banctel já criou um clássico que, a julgar pela aprovação dos clientes, promete continuar na carta por muito tempo: o pombo marinado em cacau servido com tagliatelles crocantes de trigo sarraceno.

uma BoSSa nova O espaço Bossa, na alameda Lorena, segue uma tendência de lugares multiuso, mas traz uma novidade pouco vista: além de ser um bar e restaurante, tem um estúdio de música, onde os artistas poderão realizar gravações, programas de rádio e trilhas sonoras e também fazer seus ensaios. O proprietário é o DJ Renato Ratier, que contratou o escritório de Marcelo Rosenbaum para criar as instalações. Na cozinha, quem orquestra sabores e aromas é o chef William Ribeiro, recriando pratos clássicos do Rio de Janeiro e de São Paulo a partir de influências árabes, espanholas, italianas e francesas. Entre as delícias estão o manjar de tapioca com calda de jaboticaba e leite condensado cozido; a salada de folhas com maçã verde, lâminas de bacon, nozes pecã caramelizadas e nacos de queijo; e o espaguete com lula, presunto de Catanduva e agrião. O menu tem peixes, carnes e até versões para as crianças, como o bifinho de Kobe. No café da manhã, a carta traz o famoso pão na chapa, tapiocas variadas e sucos. The menu includes fish, beef and even kid’s versions of dishes, like the small Kobe steak. he Dorchester, ponto de encontro de famosos como o poeta Cecil Day-Lewis, os atores Elizabeth Taylor e Richard Burton e até a rainha Elizabeth, que esteve lá no dia anterior ao anúncio de seu casamento com o príncipe Philip, em 1947, é uma instituição na Inglaterra. Criado em 1931, em frente ao Hyde Parque, em Londres, mantém a atmosfera luxuosa da época, mas periodicamente moderniza suas instalações. No final do ano passado, foi a vez do restaurante de carnes The Grill, que ganhou nova decoração, um chef com reputação de ser o queridinho de Alain Ducasse e um staff renovado. Christophe Marleix, o responsável pelas caçarolas, trabalha há mais de dez anos para a Dorchester Collection e foi escolhido como consultor e instrutor do instituto Alain Ducasse Education, onde teve a oportunidade de trabalhar na cozinha de seu mestre. As mudanças que ele promoveu no cardápio do The Grill levaram em conta a tradição do local, de aproveitar ingredientes locais sempre que possível, com um toque pessoal. O espaço abre para o café da manhã, almoço e jantar. A primeira refeição do dia tem pães frescos e cestas de viennoiserie caseira, além dos tradicionais desjejuns ingleses, com delícias como ovos Benedict, waffles e panquecas. No almoço, os cortes de carnes de aberdeen angus produzidos na fazenda orgânica de Rhug Estate, em Denbigshire, vêm acompanhados por um molho de pimenta caseiro. Um dos mais pedidos é o tournedo maturado de tutano acompanhado por torta Yorkshire e molho bordelaise. O menu a la carte tem também a famosa sopa de lagosta do restaurante e vários outros pratos confeccionados com produtos do terroir britânico, como o tradicional salmão defumado Hansen & Lydersen, que traz quatro diferentes partes do peixe, cada uma com textura e sabor particulares. Na área de doces, quem manda é o chef francês Ludovic Cuny, que trabalhou no três estrelas Michelin Le Buerehiesel, em Estrasburgo, e criou uma série de suflês doces com ingredientes de excelente qualidade, como pistache siciliano, baunilha do Taiti, rum cubano e chocolate de São Tomé. A refeição termina com uma seleção de queijos britânicos, incluindo o Lincolnshire e o Barkham. O belga Ruben Desport é o responsável pela carta de vinhos, que traz 400 rótulos, com destaque para a variada produção francesa, mas também rica em outros produtos europeus e do novo mundo. Para quem prefere provar vários tipos, a opção é pedir a generosa seleção de vinhos em taça ou jarra.

A tarefa de renovar a decoração do The Grill foi entregue ao arquiteto de interiores Bruno Moinard, que antes havia decorado a Christie’s de Nova York, os prédios da elegante Hermès, em Paris, lojas Cartier ao redor do mundo e ainda as propriedades da vinícola Château Latour. A base do novo ambiente elaborado pelo designer são painéis que mudam de cor durante as várias fases do dia: pela manhã e durante o almoço, emitem uma luz esverdeada; à noite, fica exposta uma face mais escura, que cria uma atmosfera quente e acolhedora. “Eu procurei ter em mente a reputação do The Grill como uma instituição britânica, e trazer essa bagagem para os dias atuais. Ao mesmo tempo em que queríamos dar novos ares ao ambiente, também procuramos respeitar as características originais e preservar esse fantástico ponto de encontro de personalidades desde a década de 1930. O teto original e as portas ornamentadas continuam; e os frequentadores mais atentos repararão que os novos painéis reproduzem partes do teto, com o objetivo de unir passado e presente”, explica Moinard. A mudança no restaurante faz parte de uma renovação maior que já havia sido feita nos quartos e suítes do Dorchester. A designer de interiores Alexandra Champalimaud, responsável pelo projeto, preservou o estilo residencial inglês clássico, mas acrescentou itens que trazem o conforto contemporâneo e um glamour atemporal.

he Dorchester, a meeting point for the famous, such as the poet Cecil Day-Lewis, the actors Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton and even Queen Elizabeth, who was there the day before the announcement of her marriage to Prince Philip in 1947, is an institution in England.It was created in 1931, in front of Hyde Park, London, and maintains the luxurious atmosphere of this period, but periodically modernizes its facilities. Late last year, it was the turn of the steak restaurant, The Grill, which received a new decor, a chef with the reputation of being the favorite of Alain Ducasse and a renewed staff. Christophe Marleix, responsible for the casseroles, has worked for over ten years for the Dorchester Collection and was chosen as a consultant and instructor at the Alain Ducasse Education Institute, where he had the opportunity to work in his teacher’s kitchen. The changes he introduced to the menu at The Grill took into account the local tradition, using local ingredients whenever possible, and added a personal touch. The restaurante is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The first meal of the day offers fresh bread and baskets of homemade viennoiserie, as well as the traditional English breakfasts, with treats like eggs benedict, waffles and pancakes. At lunch, the roast beef from the Aberdeen angus produced on the organic farm at the Rhug Estate in Denbighshire, is accompanied by a homemade pepper sauce. One of the favorites is the beef tournedos, with shallots and accompanied by Yorkshire pudding and bordelaise sauce. The a la carte menu also has the restaurant’s famous lobster chowder and several other dishes made with British products, such as the traditional Hansen & Lydersen smoked salmon, which offers four different parts of the fish, each with its own particular texture and flavor. The dessert area is headed by the French chef Ludovic Cuny, who worked at three-star Michelin restaurant, Le Buerehiesel in Strasbourg, and created a number of sweet souffles using excellent quality ingredients such as Sicilian pistachio, vanilla from Tahiti, Cuban rum and São Tomé chocolate. The meal ends with a selection of British cheeses, including Lincolnshire and Barkham. The Belgian Ruben Desport is responsible for the wine list, which features 400 labels, highlighting the varied French production, but also rich in other European wines and also some from the new world. For those who prefer to taste a variety, the best option is to ask for the generous selection of wines by the glass or pitcher. HigH tecHnology

empre tive vontade de conhecer Edimburgo, que evoca elegância, com seus parques, castelo e ruelas pontuadas por edifícios de pedra e recheadas de mistério. É o berço de grandes nomes da literatura, como Robert Louis Stevenson, Conan Doyle e J.K. Rowling – que, aliás, escreveu seu primeiro Harry Potter em um café da cidade. A bela capital escocesa, declarada Patrimônio Mundial da Humanidade pela UNESCO, tem 4.500 edifícios tombados de inestimável peso histórico e artístico e divide-se em duas partes: a cidade velha ou medieval (Old Town), com suas ruelas e becos de paralelepípedos, e a cidade nova (New Town). A reputação de metrópole culta deve-se às suas duas prestigiadas universidades e à grande quantidade de museus. Mas não pense em sisudez. coceses e ingleses, o castelo foi palácio real até o século XX. Ergue-se, soberano, no topo do Castle Rock (Rochedo do Castelo), penhasco que domina o panorama de Edimburgo. Entre as suas atrações estão as joias da Coroa Escocesa (Coroa, Espada e Cetro), guardadas após a união dos Parlamentos da Escócia e da Inglaterra, em 1707, e exibidas na Sala da Coroa. Ali também se encontra a chamada Pedra do Destino, o assento de coroação dos reis da Escócia. por ter sido usada pelo rei no século XVI para se deslocar entre o Castelo de Edimburgo e o Palácio de Holyrood. É uma sucessão de vias que formam a artéria principal da cidade velha e é dividida em quatro partes: Castlehill, onde fica o Scotch Whisky Experience (354, Castlehill) e se explica todo o processo de elaboração do uísque; Lawnmarket, antigo mercado têxtil; High Street, o coração da cidade velha, com alguns dos edifícios mais emblemáticos – a Catedral de St Giles, cuja estrutura atual data do século XV, o Parliament House, sede do Parlamento escocês entre 1639 e 1707, os edifícios civis City Chambers e John Knox House, e ainda o Canongate, onde se encontra o Museu de Edimburgo (142, Canongate), dedicado à história da cidade desde a pré-história. As lojinhas da na Royal Mile vendem artigos típicos, como souvenires típicos e os infalíveis kilts.

holyrood – Este bairro localizado no final da Royal House abriga o palácio de Holyroodhouse, residência da monarquia desde o século XIV. Das suas dependências, destacam-se os aposentos da rainha Maria da Escócia e a Great Gallery. A saída do palácio conduz à Abadia de Holyrood, fundada em 1128. Ali perto fica o Holyrood Park, o mais central e popular de Edimburgo. No seu ponto mais elevado, fica o mirante chamado Arthur’s Seat (251 metros).

A CIDADE NOVA – NEW TOWN Princess sTreeT – Uma das principais vias do

centro de Edimburgo, a Princess está quase toda fechada para carros particulares. Ali, os edifícios mais importantes são a Royal Scottish Academy, que exibe pinturas e esculturas, e a National Gallery of Scotland, dona de uma dos melhores acervos de pintura do mundo, do Renascimento ao Pós-Impressionismo. calTon hill – A colina situada no centro de Edimburgo é outro excelente mirante da cidade. Também chamada de “Acrópole de Edimburgo”, abriga vários monumentos do século XIX de inspiração grega. Entre os destaques estão a torre do Monumento a Nelson (1830), o inacabado Monumento Nacional (1822), o edifício da Royal High School (1829) e o Observatório Municipal (1818). É muito fácil chegar a Calton Hill. A subida a pé leva cerca de 10 minutos a partir de uma escadaria que começa na Regent Road.

The apartments include the queen mary chambers, and the great gallery. The path from the palace leads to holyrood abbey, which was founded in 1128. nearby is holyrood Park, the most central and popular park in edinburgh. THE NEW TOWN Princess sTreeT – one of the main thorough-

fares in the center of edinburgh, Princes street is almost totally closed to private cars. here, the most important buildings are the royal scottish academy, which exhibits paintings and sculptures, and the national gallery of scotland, which owns one of the world’s best collections of painting from the renaissance to Post-impressionism. calTon hill – The hill, in the center of edinburgh, is another excellent point to view the city. also called the “acropolis of edinburgh”, it is home to several monuments from the nineteenth century, inspired by ancient greece. The most significant include the tower of the nelson monument (1830), the unfinished national monument (1822), the royal high school (1829) and the municipal observatory (1818). it is very easy to reach calton hill. The walk up the hill takes about 10 minutes from a stairway that begins on regent road. charloTTe square – The square in georgian style, built in 1791, is considered the architectural jewel in the new part of the town, with monuments and buildings that stand out for their elegance. The most iconic buildings include the bute house, the official residence of scotland’s first minister; and the georgian house, which was restored and has regained its original splendor as a high class house from eighteenth century edinburgh.

Louis XIII, known as the king of brandies, is one of the most prestigious drinks in the world. From time to time, the house of Rémy Martin, the owner of the brand, launches a special edition, such as the Black Pearl, which will arrive here in Brazil this year. Two bottles will arrive: one will be auctioned in the second semester for the benefit of Laramara – the Brazilian Association to help People with Visual Impairments; and the other will be kept at Unique Hotel in Sao Paulo, where it will be served in doses – a full dose will cost R $ 3,450.00 and a half, R $ 1,150.00. Other hotels in the world that have exclusive sales of Black Pearl are the Plaza, in New York, and the Dorchester in London. The drink comes in a bottle made of Baccarat crystal that consists of carbon, titanium and gold for the pearl effect. The drink was prepared by four generations of cellar masters and contains 1,200 eaux de vie, or liquor, aged between 40 and 100 years, and was stored in the private cellar of André Heriard Dubreuil, the owner of Rémy Martin. With its spicy and striking aroma, the brandy from this special edition has dominant tones of fig, ginger and sandalwood, and its flavor is gradually revealed.

In Sarkis Semerdjian’s words: “In order to create Ani, we sought inspiration in simplicity and decided to eliminate everything that was superfluous. For us, sustainability means durability. So we wanted to design a piece that wouldn’t require complex ironwork or expensive replacement parts, and as such, it would become timeless. It also needed to be a fun piece to have, enabling other pieces to be created.” The base of the lamp is made from wood and the removable shaft is made of corten steel, which means you can adjust the focus of the light. Sob medida para braSileiroS Que tal visitar galerias, museus e ter dicas quentes de Nova York com uma brasileira que, além de ter formação na área, conhece os lugares aos quais só quem mora na cidade tem acesso? As visitas guiadas de Gisela Gueiros, em Nova York desde 2007, fazem sucesso com essas premissas. Formada em Comunicação Social pela Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM) e em Artes Plásticas pela Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (Faap), a brasileira fez um mestrado em história da arte contemporânea no Sotheby’s Institute of Art e aproveita todo esse conhecimento para criar roteiros interessantes desde 2012, quando começou, a pedido de amigos, a trabalhar com tours. Gisela Gueiros – Vim estudar em Nova York em 2007 e os tours começaram de forma orgânica − primeiro para os amigos, depois para os amigos dos amigos e assim por diante. Grande parte do meu público vem por indicação de quem já fez o tour. Como é a rotina de descobrir novos espaços para levar os turistas? Estou sempre conectada, assino várias revistas e jornais. Antes de montar o tour visito as galerias e escolho as exposições que considero mais interessantes. Estudo sobre os artistas, as mostras e monto uma

Tem a turma que adora arte contemporânea e outros que ainda parecem desconfiados durante as exposições. Durante o passeio também falo um pouco sobre arquitetura e sobre o High Line (novo parque suspenso da cidade). Como as exposições mudam todo mês, muita gente volta ao tour quando visita Nova York de novo. Já tenho um público fiel que acaba trazendo ao passeio referências das visitas que fizeram comigo antes. Quais são os seus endereços prediletos na cidade? Ai, que pergunta difícil! São tantos… Neste exato momento eu diria que meu museu favorito é Whitney Museum, meu restaurante preferido, o Jack’s Wife Freda, a loja, Creatures of Comfort, o cinema, Angelika, a livraria, Strand, e o jardim, Wave Hill. Mas se você me perguntar amanhã, as repostas podem ter mudado. Essa é a graça de Nova York. O que você destacaria da programação para os próximos meses? O artista libanês Walid Raad ganha exposição solo no MoMA a partir de outubro. Como escrevi minha tese de mestrado sobre ele, não vou perder por nada! O novo museu Whitney, que se mudou para Meatpacking District, e ganhou projeto do arquiteto Renzo Piano, também merece a visita. Quem, na sua opinião, são os novos talentos e galerias nos quais devemos prestar atenção? Adoro o trabalho do artista Cheyney Thompson e da Amy Sillman. A galeria Anton Kern representa alguns artistas muito bons. Adoro o Jonas Wood, a Shio Kusaka e o Brian Calvin.

Tailored made for Brazilians How about visiting galleries, museums and getting the hot tips for New York from a Brazilian who, in addition to having graduated in this area, knows the places which only those who live in the city have access to? Guided tours by Gisela Gueiros in New York, since 2007, are a success. Gisela, who graduated in Social Communication at the College of Advertising and Marketing (ESPM) and in Fine Arts from the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP), then completed a Masters in the History of Contemporary Art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art and has made the most of all this knowledge by create interesting tours since 2012, when, at the request of friends, she started to work with tours. The tour is usually takes place in the galleries in Chelsea, it lasts two hours and includes six exhibitions. She posts the program on Instagram, @taxiamarelony and the site www.taxiamarelo.com.br. Global Aviation - How did you develop the idea to plan and offer tours in New York? Gisela Gueiros - I came to study in New York in 2007 and the tours began organically - first for friends, then for friends of friends and so on. Much of my public comes from those who have already made the tour. How do you go about finding new places to take the tourists? I’m always connected, I subscribe to various magazines and newspapers. Before organizing the tour, I visit the galleries and choose the exhibits that I believe are the most interesting. I study the artists, the exhibitions and prepare a short presentation on my iPad with references. What are the programs that Brazilians prefer the most? The groups are very diversified. There is always a group that loves contemporary art and others who are not so convinced during the exhibitions. During the tour I also talk a little about the architecture and about

the High Line (the city’s new suspended park). Since the exhibitions change every month, many people repeat the tour when they visit New York again. I already have a loyal public who remember prior visits they did with me. What are your favorite addresses in the city? Oh, that’s a difficult question! There are so many ... Right now I’d say my favorite museum is the Whitney Museum, my favorite restaurant, Jack’s Wife Freda, the store, Creatures of Comfort, cinema, Angelika, the bookstore, The Strand, and the garden, Wave Hill. But if you ask me tomorrow, the answers may have changed. This is what makes New York so different. What would you highlight from the program for the coming months? The Lebanese artist Walid Raad was given a solo exhibition at MoMA from October. Since I wrote my master’s thesis on him, I will not miss this for anything! The new Whitney museum, which moved to the Meatpacking District, and was designed by the architect Renzo Piano, is also worth a visit. Who, in your opinion, are the new talents and galleries that we should pay attention to? I love the work of the artists Cheyney Thompson and Amy Sillman. The Anton Kern gallery represents some very good artists. I love Jonas Wood, Shio Kusaka and Brian Calvin.

Música/ Music esTado da arTe A Philharmonie de Paris, projetada pelo arquiteto Jean Nouvel, prêmio Pritzker, é a nova joia da Cidade Luz. A sala de concertos é considerada estado da arte, abriu no início do ano na Cité de la Musique, no moderno bairro La Villette, e tem uma programação eclética, em que concertos de música clássica alternam-se com shows de jazz e world music, sem preconceitos. Para melhorar a acústica e proporcionar uma sensação de intimidade entre o público e os músicos, as poltronas são dispostas em camadas em volta do palco, de forma inovadora. É a casa da celebrada Orchestre de Paris, mas recebe sinfônicas do mundo inteiro, além de ter várias salas para oficinas musicais as mais diversas, de tambores indianos a percussão cubana. Até o final de maio, o espaço de exposições exibiu a mostra David Bowie Is, que passou por São Paulo com enorme sucesso de público; e uma completa programação sobre Pierre Boulez. The Paris Philharmonie, designed by the architect Jean Nouvel, Pritzker prize winner, is the new jewel in the City of Light. The concert hall is considered state of the art, opened earlier this year at the Cité de la Musique in trendy La Villette neighborhood, and has an eclectic program, in which classical music concerts alternate with jazz concerts and world music, without bias. To improve acoustics and provide a sense of intimacy between the audience and the musicians, the seats are arranged in rows around the stage in an innovative way. It is the home of the celebrated Orchestre de Paris, but receives symphonies from around the world, and has several rooms for various musical workshops, from Indian drums to Cuban percussion. By the end of May, the exhibition space exhibited the David Bowie Is exhibition, which had been on in São Paulo, where it was a huge success; and a complete program of Pierre Boulez. O Victoria & Albert Museum, em Londres, exibe até o dia 27 de setembro a mostra What is Luxury?, com 100 objetos que exploram a intrincada conexão entre artesanato e luxo, seu futuro e conceitos fundamentais. Os curadores foram ousados ao reunir um conjunto versátil e surpreendente de objetos que, além de muito raros e pouco acessíveis, dão uma ideia do que significa o luxo no século XXI e no futuro. Os exemplos são incríveis: tem desde um colar feito a mão com mais de mil bolhas de nylon, o Bubble Bath, até uma sela para andar a cavalo da Hermès que combina a mais alta tecnologia com artesanato em couro tradicional, passando por um vestido de alta-costura cortado a laser da estilista Iris van Herpen. luxury is also culTure One of the exhibitions at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London is What is Luxury ?, on until September 27. It presents 100 objects that explore the intricate connection between craftsmanship and luxury, its future and the basic concepts. The curators creatively put together a versatile and amazing set of objects that, in addition to being very rare and not easily accessible, present an idea of what luxury means in the twentieth century and in the future. The examples are amazing: the exhibition ranges from a handmade necklace made from over a thousand nylon bubbles, the Bubble Bath, a saddle to ride Hermes’ horse, which combines the latest in technology with traditional leather craft, to a haute couture dress, laser cut, by the designer Iris van Herpen. The exhibition will be a delight for those who like exquisite quality watches, with the Space Travellers’ Watch, hand crafted by the British artist George Daniels; and jewelry fans will be able to admire the elaborate ecclesiastical crown made from gold. o maior evenTo do hemisfério Entre os dias 9 e 12 de abril, o universo das artes esteve com a atenção voltada para a Bienal de São Paulo, que abrigava a 11a edição da SP-Arte, Feira Internacional de Arte de São Paulo. Foram 140 galerias, 83 nacionais e 57 estrangeiras, público de 23 mil pessoas e atrações que rivalizam com os maiores eventos de arte do planeta. Das ultrafamosas White Cube e Gagosian até a Piero Atchugarry, localizada no vilarejo de Pueblo Garzon, no Uruguai, representantes de 17 países exibiram mais de 3 mil obras. Quem quisesse ter uma boa ideia do que se produz de arte contemporânea pelo mundo poderia ficar bastante satisfeito com uma visita, que exigia pelos menos cinco horas de passeio, para os mais rápidos. Além de ver obras de estrelas como Damien Hirst, Miró, Dalí, Ferreira Gullar, Marcel Duchamp, Alexander Calder, Athos Bulcão, Joana Vasconcelos, Adriana Varejão e Beatriz Milhazes, entre tantos outros exemplos, o público pôde conhecer novas promessas das artes. Um exemplo é o talentoso fotógrafo brasileiro Ivan Padovani, que exibiu a série de fotos Campo Cego, que mostra as empenas dos edifícios numa leitura abstrata e conceitual, com um sutil processo experimental: as imagens são impressas em blocos, que parecem de concreto, em espessuras e formatos diversos. Outro artista surpreendente é o cubano Jorge Mayet, representado pela Inox, do Rio de Janeiro, com suas pequenas árvores desgarradas. The hemisPhere’s BiggesT evenT Between April 9 and 12, the art universe was focused on the São Paulo Bienal, which housed the 11th edition of SP-Arte, the International Sao Paulo Art Fair. It consisted of 140 galleries, 83 Brazilians and 57 foreigners, a public of 23 thousand people and attractions that rivaled the largest in the world of art events. From the super famous White Cube and Gagosian to Piero Atchugarry, located in the village of Pueblo Garzon, Uruguay, representatives from 17 countries exhibited more than 3000 works. For those who wanted to have a good idea of what is being produced in terms of contemporary art worldwide, would be more than pleased with a visit, which required at least five hours, for the quickest. Besides finding works by stars such as Damien Hirst, Miró, Dalí, Ferreira Gullar, Marcel Duchamp, Alexander Calder, Athos Bulcão, Joana Vasconcelos, Adriana Varejao and Beatriz Milhazes, among many others, the public were able to see the new potential in the art world. One example is the talented Brazilian photographer Ivan Padovani, who exhibited the series of photos Campo Cego (Blind Field), showing the gables of buildings in an abstract and conceptual interpretation, with a subtle experimental process: the images are printed on blocks that look like concrete, with different thicknesses and formats. Another surprising artist is the Cuban Jorge Mayet, represented by Inox, from Rio de Janeiro, with its small stray trees. In order to develop knowledge about art, the fair promotes activities such as the series of Talks, in partnership with the Brazilian magazine Art! With the theme Art As Value, the program included inspirational conversations with big names like Sarah Thornton, sociologist and writer; Paulo Herkenhoff, the cultural director of the Rio Art Museum; and Thomas Galbraith, CEO of the online auction house Paddle8. It was so successful that even the singer Cher made an appearance, and was welcomed by the director of the fair, Fernanda Feitosa. Global Aviation, realizing the potential of the event and its alignment with the company’s business strategy, acted as partner and sponsored the Casa Vogue VIP room .

o alto da colina, pairando como uma nave espacial em titânio bronzeado, a construção impressiona e aguça a curiosidade. E é apenas uma das surpresas na imensa propriedade com vinhedos que se espraiam pelo Valle de Millahue, no centro do Chile. A construção, que remete à arquitetura de Frank Gehry, abriga o hotel da Viña Vik, que tem ainda outro projeto futurista no prédio de sua vinícola. Tudo moderno e espetacular para fazer o velho e bom vinho. O hotel foi projetado pelo arquiteto uruguaio Marcelo Daglio em associação com os proprietários: o megainvestidor norueguês Alexander Vik e sua mulher, a designer Carrie − ambos colecionadores apaixonados por arte. O casal primeiro criou os incensados Vik Retreats, em Jose Ignácio, perto de Punta del Leste, no Uruguai, que inclui o Estancia, o Playa, o Bahia Vik e o restô La Susana. E, há uma década, Alexander decidiu produzir um vinho sul-americano que tivesse uma qualidade superior, com critérios próximos aos dos míticos franceses de Bordeaux. Quase comprou uma vinícola em Mendoza, na Argentina, mas os proprietários desistiram da venda na última hora e o Chile ganhou a parada quando lhe contaram que havia no país um extenso vale que, na língua indígena mapuche, significa “lugar de ouro”.

Vale de Millahue

Os 4.300 hectares da propriedade que hoje abriga o Viña Vik estavam plantados apenas com árvores frutíferas, e a família espanhola que cuidava do local aceitou o acordo: o empresário queria realizar testes geológicos, durante um ano, para descobrir se os terrenos eram apropriados ao plantio de uvas viníferas, aquelas próprias para a elaboração de vinhos finos, ao contrário das uvas doces de consumo direto. A conclusão foi favorável, mas dentro do complexo mundo vinícola os testes determinaram que só as uvas tintas cresceriam bem ali. O plantio foi iniciado em 2006 com as variedades Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc, Merlot e Syrah, em 400 hectares. E as vinhas foram favorecidas pelo clima excelente, com dias ensolarados e noites frescas adequadas à colheita noturna, como se pretendia. Na taça, sente-se que o projeto ambicionado pelos Vik encontrou sua vocação. Na boca, os vinhos Vik são puro prazer. O edifício vanguardista que abriga a vinícola foi projetado pelo chileno Smiljan Radic, célebre arquiteto que assina o pavilhão de 2015 da Serpentine Gallery, em Londres. É uma construção em arco, com um espelho d’água pontuado por pedras da região à frente. Abaixo ficam as cubas de fermentação, as adegas de garrafas e 1.600 barris de carvalho francês para a maturação do vinho Vik, que rapidamente tornou-se, a partir da safra de 2009, um dos ícones chilenos, vinificado

Patrick Valette revela que o plantio e elaboração do vinho valoriza o conceito holístico, “baseado na sinergia entre a terra, o homem, a experiência, o clima e a alta tecnologia”. Chile like you’ve never seen it A boutique hotel in the middle of vineyards, with plenty of art in the suites, and a vineyard with its award-winning design and great wine. Meet the new viña vik

t the top of a hill, hovering like a spaceship in bronzed titanium, the building impresses viewers and awakens one’s curiosity. And this is just one of the surprises you will find in the huge estate with vineyards that spreads throughout the Valle de Millahue, in central Chile. The construction, which reminds you of Frank Gehry’s architecture, is where you will find the Viña Vik hotel, which has another futuristic design in the vineyard building. All very modern and spectacular to make the old and good wine. The hotel was designed by the Uruguayan architect Marcelo Daglio in partnership with the owners: the Norwegian mega-investor Alexander Vik and his wife and designer, Carrie - both passionate art collectors. The couple first created the incensed Vik Retreats, in Jose Ignacio, near Punta del Este, Uruguay, which included Estancia, the Playa, Bahia Vik and Restô La Susana. And a decade ago, Alexander decided to produce a higher quality South American wine, with criteria similar to the mythical French Bordeaux. He almost bought a vineyard in Mendoza, Argentina, but the owners backed out of sale at the last minute and Chile benefited when he was told that the country had an extensive valley that, in the indigenous Mapuche language, means “place of gold.”

Millahue Valley The 4,300 acres of property that now houses Viña Vik were planted only with fruit trees, and the Spanish family who ran the place accepted the deal: the entrepreneur wanted to conduct geological tests for a year to discover whether the land was suitable for planting grapes appropriate for the production of fine wines, rather than sweet grapes produced for direct consumption. The conclusion was favorable, but within the complex world of vineyards, the tests concluded that only red grapes would grow well there. Planting began in 2006, which included Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah grapes in the 400 hectares. And the vineyards benefited from the excellent weather, with sunny days and cool nights, suitable for nighttime harvests, as was intended. In the glass, one feels that the project imagined by the Viks found its vocation. In the mouth, the Vik wines are pure pleasure. The avant-garde building that houses the winery was designed by the Chilean Smiljan Radic, a celebrated architect who was responsible for the 2015 pavilion at the Serpentine Gallery, in London. It is constructed in the shape of an arc, with a reflecting pool with stones from the region in the front. as from the 2009 harvest, quickly became a Chilean icon, made into wine by the head enologist, Patrick Valette, son of a French father and a Chilean mother, and who worked at Château Pavie, famous for one of the great Bordeaux wines. He is assisted by two other enologists, Gonzague de Lambert, from France and the Chilean Cristian Vallejo. Synergy Patrick Valette reveals that the plantation and the winemaking value a holistic concept, “based on the synergy between the earth, man, experience, the weather and advanced technology.” The winery is based on the practice of sustainable development, with the use of solar energy and reusable rainwater, stored in a pond full of herons, and used to irrigate the vineyards. The wines tasted demonstrate a style known as bordalês (much appreciated in Chile), reminding you of black fruit and a very concentrated flavor because of the 23 months spent in oak barrels and another year resting in the bottles. Organic luxury It looks like an aircraft on top of the central Millahue hill: the hotel with only 22 suites, each with different decor – reflecting the good taste of Carrie Vik, who was responsible for buying each designer piece to create environments that are more than just charming – the hotel is filled with works of art, by names such as Richard Serra and Anselm Kiefer. The bathrooms are also quite distinct from each other, with baths either in the traditional style or with innovative designs, such as the amazing Splinter baths, and amenities made

from local grape seed. Pure organic luxury. All of the suites have windows that stretch from the floor to the ceiling, providing wonderful views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains. A courtyard full of flowers, and two bonsai trees welcomes visitors, who are also offered the Comfort of a sitting room, a spa with massages and treatments using products made from grape seed, a fitness center, yoga room, hairdressing salon, a dry sauna, games room with pool table, a small conference room and, almost hanging in the air, a beautiful infinity pool, with the horizon as its limit. One of those places where the interior and exterior merge, with the notion of hospitality and home mixed with first class service and the air of a contemporary country retreat that the hotel breathes. Activities include horseback riding, bicycle tours, trekking, cooking classes, participation in grape harvests and of course the tastings of different vintages of Vik wine, in the cellar or in the excellent restaurant run by the friendly and talented chef Rodrigo Acuña Bravo, who favors fish from the Pacific and good meats, most of them smoked right there, as well as sausages and salmon. His delicious foie gras terrine is one of the favorites on the menu. And one of the best options offered to guests and visitors is the barbecue (a traditional parrilla) amid the vineyards and you, in the midst, holding a glass of wine - a must! a satIsfação de ser útIl Piloto há 33 anos, o comandante Rogério Reis trabalhou por um breve período na Global Aviation à época da fundação da companhia. Há seis, retornou, e desde então pilota os modelos Citation Jet 1, 2 e 3, além do Pilatus. “Meu maior prazer é fazer os voos aeromédicos. Me sinto útil, porque posso ajudar pacientes e seus familiares em situações extremamente delicadas”, diz o comandante. Ele destaca a importância da completa infraestrutura e da alta performance das equipes da empresa para realizar um bom trabalho: “Além de termos os equipamentos mais modernos, passamos por reciclagens periódicas sobre procedimentos de voo, tecnologia das aeronaves e tudo o que envolve nosso trabalho”, detalha. Reis faz voos aeromédicos e executivos, e diz que o principal diferencial de um profissional que transporta pessoas doentes deve ser a serenidade. “Precisamos ter uma boa estabilidade emocional para estarmos aptos a tranquilizar os passageiros e seguir as recomendações médicas em cada etapa do voo, já que alguns procedimentos podem ter consequências na saúde do paciente”, explica. Em muitos momentos, lembra, o piloto precisa ter habilidades de psicólogo, já que muitos, além de apresentar uma condição física fragilizada, também têm medo de voar. “Nesses casos o melhor é conversar calmamente”, afirma.

He stresses the importance of the company’s complete infrastructure and the high performance of its professional teams for sustaining quality work: “Besides having the most modern equipment, we go through periodic refresher courses on flight procedures, aircraft technology and all other areas related to our work”, he tells in detail. reis operates air medical and executive flights, and states that the major differential for someone transporting sick passengers is serenity. “We need to be emotionally stability so we can reassure passengers and follow the medical recommendations in each step of the flight, since some procedures might affect the patient’s health”, he explains. He reminds us that, often, the pilot needs to have the skills of a psychologist, since many patients, besides being in a fragile physical state, are scared of flying. “In these cases, the best solution is to chat calmly”, he recommends.

oPortunIdade únICa Luis Guilherme Rossetto Silva tem 23 anos e mais de 1.200 horas de voo. “Comecei a trabalhar na Global no setor de despachos, em agosto de 2012, mas logo a companhia me ofereceu a chance de atuar como copiloto”, conta. Ele atua ao lado do comandante em uma aeronave Citation Jet 2, e conta que o seu momento preferido nos voos é o pré-pouso. “Gosto de tudo o que envolve a aproximação com o aeroporto, da forma com que o avião é preparado para tocar a pista, as manobras… Acho interessante conhecer e seguir todas as regras e orientações do circuito do tráfego”, conta. Luis Guilherme Rossetto Silva explica que seus planos para o futuro incluem ganhar cada vez mais horas de voo e eficiência para um dia poder ser comandante de uma aeronave. “Acredito que se eu tiver a experiência suficiente, posso conseguir realizar esse sonho aqui na Global”, planeja.

He sits next to the captain in a Citation Jet 2 aircraft and tells us his favourite moment during the flight is the preparation for landing. “I enjoy everything that envolves approaching the airport, the way the plane is prepared to touch the runway, the manouvres... I find it interesting knowing and following all the regulations and recommendations from the air traffic control”, he says. luis Guilherme rossetto silva explains that his plan for the future includes earning more flight hours and enough experience to one day become a captain. “I believe that once I have enough experience, I’ll be able to fulfill this dream here at Global”, he states.

n Saturday 13 June, Global Aviation inaugurated its new hangar at Bertram Luiz Leupolz Airport in Sorocaba, offering cocktails to its customers and partners. Sorocaba, which is near the state capital, S piPaulo, and the fourth most populous city in the state, has an excellent climate and visibility, and its airport has recently undergone a major overhaul, making it more modern and efficient. The hangar, which extends over 6,000 square meters, will provide hangar services – with capacity of up to 17 aircraft within the covered area and another 10 on the outside - runway services, aircraft management, air-medical transport, shared ownership, sale and acquisition of aircraft and charter services for domestic and international flights. “The company continues to invest and expand its bases. We chose Sorocaba because of its strategic location and because it is an airport that operates 24 hours a day, plus other benefits”, stresses Ricardo Gobbetti founder and chairman of the company‘s management board. With this new space, we will be able to offer more maintenance services and improve the efficiency and speed of the operations. “We have always prioritized safety, investing in technology and people to provide the best options in services from the sector.
