Color of The Year 2015 By Pantone

Come design by the warm fire of “Marsala” “A hearty yet stylish tone, Marsala is universally appealing with a richness that lends sophistication ... it’s a very modern hue that totally suits the times.” - Pantone

“ Marsala emanates a sophisticated natural earthiness that will enrich the body, mind and soul. ” - Leatrice Eiseman

Named for the renowned Italian wine, Marsala is the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year. A naturally robust, earthy wine red, Marsala makes its own confident, energetic statement. Because of its rich, impactful warmth, Pantone believes Marsala is a color that will resonate around the world, translating seamlessly across all spheres of design. Marsala was a hit on 2015 fashion runways, and an integral element in next year’s designs from interiors to beauty and more. For jewelry-making, the translation means tremendous possibilities. This wine-influenced color is perceived differently depending on the selection of design elements. Pearls or Swarovski crystal, in this red-kissed color, convey luxury and glamour. Matte surface materials, such as leather, have the appearance of being more robust and earthy.

Transparent options, such as glass or acrylic, lend a lilting clarity to Marsala’s warmth. Gemstones in Marsala hues capture the depth and richness this color has to offer. In addition, Marsala works well with a variety of color palettes. It is exceptional when paired with monochromatic mixes, such as peachy pinks. It harmonizes with numerous metals, illuminates smoky or neutral palettes, is compelling with amber, golden yellows, turquoise or teals and pops with vibrant blues. “Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us into its em bracing warmth.” Leatrice Eisemann

11 Rings Earrings

Tips

rings It’s about achieving a one-of -a kind look over time - creating stacks as individual as the person wearing them. Thegoal is to personalize the way you wear jewelry; mixing metals, textures, stone, dainty bands and etc. A gob-stopper-size ring is the ideal partner for your cocktail frock. Try one for day, too, when you’re wearing basics. Stack your rings for a funky edge. To properly layer, choose ones that have flat edges or single stones and can be twisted to fit on top of each other. Don’t load up every finger. One adorned digit per hand looks best (especially with cocktail pieces), but max out at two each if you like to wear multiples. When wearing an attention-getting ring, keep in mind people will look - which means your nails should be properly groomed.v

According to the upward picture you could start creat your stack by follow this triangle placement then add more.

Earrings Dainty drop earrings are the middle ground between petite studs and major danglies. They also offer a way to work color into your look.

Small studs are perfect if you like a tad of glitz and don’t change them every day. Diamonds are the ultimate and go with everything, but pearls or gold or silver studs are just as versatile.

Chandelier earrings draw attention. Keep your accoutrements limited to these stunners; pass on a necklace, brooch, or bangles.

13 Creating a Signature Look

Creating a Signature Look for Jewelry by ebay

Your signature look has a great deal to do with your personal sense of style, and these simple tips can help you to develop your own individual aesthetic in homemade jewelry.

2. Define Your Style You can also seek inspiration from other jewelry designers by visiting websites and local shops. In addition, you can find design ideas by browsing craft magazines and by visiting craft fairs. As you do, take note of the pieces to which you gravitate, and ask yourself what you like about each piece. Then, bring elements of the jewelry you like into your own homemade jewelry, and before long, you are sure to notice your own personal style evolve in your jewelry designs.

1. Design Pieces You Would Love to Wear Whether you design homemade jewelry for yourself or for someone else, the most important way to bring your own signature style to your jewelry designs is to create pieces that you would enjoy wearing. For example, work with materials that both spark your inner creativity and excite you about the process. Great materials can get your creative juices flowing, allowing you to create striking pieces in your signature style.

Tips

3. Use Similar Sizes, Colors, Patterns, or Materials Many jewelry designers create a signature look by creating lines of jewelry that feature a similar aesthetic. For example, a designer might use mixed metals in all designs or put brightly coloredAustrian crystal beads on all pieces, while another designer might create oversized silver pieces with chunky wooden beads. While each piece does not need to look the same, using similar materials and patterns throughout creates a cohesive look among the individual pieces of a jewelry line.

4. Select a Theme Some designers create homemade jewelry with a similar theme that ties all of the pieces together, and you might consider doing this with your own designs. For example, if you decide on a botanical theme, create delicate pieces that include beads in colors found in the natural world, such as greens and browns, and natural materials like wood or stone. Likewise, if you choose a botanical theme, you could includecharms and pendants featuring flowers, leaves, or trees in the collection.

5. Use Your Intuition Ultimately, the design process remains a creative pursuit. When designing homemade jewelry, listen to your intuition and trust the design decisions that your gut tells you to make. Listening to your intuition allows you to create work that appeals to your personal aesthetic and comes from the heart, which remains the place from which many feel that the true process of creation arises.

I hurt that you studying faculty of architecture and it’s famous of hard working. How come do you have time left to do such things? I think the question is not about what I am learning. It’s about how well I manage my time. Believe me, not everyone who learn design must has lack of sleep.

Do what you gain from study affect to this kind of hobby? Definitely being the design student when I have been taught to solve the problem by myself before running to other and use money to buy thing instead of making it happens. I can do whatever I like. 22 Unconventional Materials

Main

UNCONVENTIONAL In a society where pictures take the place of words, ‘fashion offers us recognisable visual signs’, writes Dorothea Mink, author of Fashion Body Cult. Jewellery is part of this system of signs – and the possibilities for self-expression are far greater than you’d think while browsing your local Accessorize. We are fortunate to be experiencing an extraordinary era of creativity in jewellery with a proliferation of designers emerging over the last decade conjuring up dazzling designs to inspire us. This is not just an accessory, like a handbag: it is a beautifully crafted contemporary art form, and one that you can enjoy wearing and sharing.

This is not just an accessory, it is a beautifully crafted contemporary art form with design boundaries freed up, there are new themes emerging, such as asymmetrical and geometric shapes; ear cuffs; original ways of wearing rings (double rings across two fingers, or incomplete circles). This unconventional approach to jewelry making has many jewelry designers and artists thinking outside of the jewelry box as they create sprawling, layered masterpieces with oxidized wire, filigree metal, odd typography bits, old keys, tiny watch gears, charms, metal buttons, pictures and coins. Materials are the crucial part that bring the senses of beauty, joy and gives new meaning to the jewelries to have more story and dimensional in terms of abstract. Behind the scene, unconventional jewelry is actually the accessories that contains of jewelry elements, whether threads, beats, silver chain, pendants or etc. but they are replaced by the other kinds of materials which is the important factor to change your jewelry to be more than jewelry by the characteristic and uniqueness.

MATERIAL UPDATES loudspeaker wire, the general stuff that every house must have ,but who knows that threre's a beauty hidden inside which every one ignore and focus on its function instead. It's to transfer an electric wave. From one place to another place by copper wire which is covered by plastic. In terms of material, loudspeaker wire is quite strong and endure. For its character, line shape makes this kind of material really suitable with knitting, tatting, weaving or sort of things.

‘Jewellery talks for its wearer. It tells whoever is looking at them about the way the wearer sees themselves.’

From T-shirt to jewelry Easy Ways to Turn T-Shirts into Jewelry You know we’ve got a weakness for repurposing just about anything. Today’s foray into style hackery comes in the form of t-shirts! With help from a bit of copper tubing, a few brass rings, and our trusty needle nose pliers, see how we turned 3 t-shirts into 15 pieces of jewelry, perfect for everything from summer festivals to fancy springtime soirees.

Materials Copper tubing T-shirts (the soft ones work best) Brass rings of various sizes Copper chain Gold chain Gold key rings Cord ends Gold clasps + Jump rings

Tools Tubing cutter Hand saw Needle nose pliers Fabric scissors Fine sand paper

For materials, we hit up the hardware store to stock up on copper tubing and these cool brass rings. We recommend taking a picture of these things to your hardware store if you want to get the same goodies. The rest of our materials are pretty standard issue in the jewelry department.

Old worn out t-shirts work best for jewelry-making as they aren’t as stiff as brand new ones. We went with navy, gray, and black.

31 From T-shirt to jewelry

DIY

1 Flirty Fringe Necklace To get your t-shirt fabric to curl, cut it into 1/2 inch strips and pull to stretch. When you let go, your t-shirt material should curl into a cord-like shape. You’ll use this method in just about every piece on this list. For this necklace, simply fold a piece of material in half, loop around the chain, and pull through. This type of knot is technically called a Lark’s Head but we always refer to it as topsy tail.

This would be a great finishing touch to a maxi dress.

2 Tiered Copper Necklace First, we’ll show you how to properly cut your copper tubing. Place a piece of tubing in your tubing cutter to score your copper. Then use a handsaw to cut. Sand the edges smooth and you’re done. To create the necklace, we stretched out 5 pieces of material, varying in length by about an inch. String the copper pieces on like beads and center them on each strand of fabric. Use a cord end to secure both ends of the fabric, then attach a jump ring and keychain as a clasp.

You would like the linear look of this piece.

32 From T-shirt to jewelry

DIY

3 Deco Dangly Earrings For these little beauties, we cut a two pieces of material a chain about 6 inches in length. Loop them together and pull them onto two brass rings, topsy tail style. Use needle nose pliers to attach earrings hooks and you’re good to go.

These have such a great simple silhouette.

4 Fringed Pipe Pendant For some reason, this reminds us of a little jellyfish or something. Loop short pieces of fringe onto a piece of copper tubing, string chain through the tubing, and you’re done!

you might love the long pendant style for a smaller piece like this.

33 From T-shirt to jewelry

DIY

5 Brass Ring Statement Necklace I used all three t-shirts for this one. The method of putting the rings on is just like my washer bracelets. You loop one ring through, then the second one. Then you pull your fabric over the second ring and weave it through the first one. Pull it all the way through, then weave back through your second ring. Pull tight and repeat until you get a pattern that looks like ours. Braid the excess material and clasp at the end using cord ends and a clasp.

you have to admit, it might be your favorite one of the bunch!

6 Minimal Copper Strand Necklace For this one, take two pieces of gray t-shirt fabric and one piece of copper chain. Braid all three and secure at each end with cord ends. String a piece of copper onto the necklace and that’s all!

This one is definitely on the more subtle side, and would look great layered with a pendant necklace or two.

34 From T-shirt to jewelry

DIY

7 Braided Chain Necklace Taking a cue from a chunky braided necklace, this slightly tiered number is a breeze to make. Make five braids using chain and two colors tf t-shirt material. Clasp them on both ends using cord ends. Attach jump rings to the ends of each braid and attach to gold key rings. Add another length of chain and that’s it!

Mixing up your favourite colour!

8 Chunky Braided Necklace Similar to the braided chain necklace, this one is made of three black fabric braids. Secure with cord ends and use a jump ring to pull them together. String a few brass rings over all three braids and add chain to finish it off.

WHAT if there’re more brass rings?

Jewelry blocks Let me ask you this: have you ever left The Container Store and felt a kind of high for how organized you are about to be? This happens to me about once a year after a big shop there and one time I asked the clerk if people are normally as giddy as I am as they check out? They said that actually there are studies done that there like serotonin released when one thinks that they are going to get organized. I’m sure I’m misquoting and it’s probably all propaganda, but I believe it because I’ve felt it. But the problem is that once you leave the store and you have to not only organize your home with you new fancy (and probably expensive) products but you have to keep them organized. And this is where I fail, miserably. Which is why I’ve enlisted the help of Beth Ziegler, a local organizing expert (and all around awesome/cool chick) to help me with a bunch of organizing projects.

We came up with fun challenge of how to organize your bountiful, incredible jewelry collection. These aren’t for your precious gems (or family heirlooms) for i believe those should probably be put in a jewelry box. But for those daily wears that you take off drunkenly and throw on your nightstand, we thought there could be an easier system that looks good and modern. Thus we invented these jewelry blocks.

So welcome to this ‘customize it’, where we get organized. Our goal was to do organizational projects that are not only functional, but visually appealing. You can read Real Simple or one million mommy blogs to find out how to properly organize your coupon station in your kitchen, but I think that organization can be kinda cool, nay even sexy.

Here’s what you need: - hammer - lint-free cloth - sawtooth hangers - wood stain - gorilla glue - wood block - brass dowels

1. You can buy a 2×2 block of wood in any length at the hardware store. Just have them cut it into squares for you or use a handsaw as I did to easily cut them at home. I sanded any rough edges and then used a lint-free cloth to lightly stain each block. I used very little since I wanted the grain of the wood to peek through.

2. Hammer the sawtooth hanger onto the back of the wood block. Keyhole hooks also work in a pinch if that’s what you have on hand.

And there you have it. I love how simple and modern they are which lets your baubles stand out. Or if your baubles are less bauble-y and more simple and modern then all the more reason why something like this is for you.

3. I chose gorilla glue instead of wood glue because I didn’t want to compromise the clean and minimal look I had going for me. It holds up really well which is surprising–but perfect since it dries clear! Hang each block on the wall and arrange your jewelry as you like.

not only function is neccessary for storage but also visually appealing!
