Welcome Back to School and Back to Key Club! This year Westfield High School Key Club will continue to serve the community by volunteering, fundraising and advocating for various causes!

What is Key Club? Key Club is an international community service club!   

More than 270,000 members More than 5,300 clubs Represented in 36 countries

Kiwanis International is the parent organization to Key Club. There is an entire family of Kiwanis organizations: Kiwanis is for adults, Aktion Club for adults with disabilities, Circle K for college students, Key Club for high schoolers, Builders Club for middle schoolers, and K-Kids for elementary school kids.

Back to School Night Success On Thursday September 28th Westfield High School had its annual Back to School! Thanks to the hard work of the Student Government many clubs had tables throughout the hallways while parents walked between classes. This year Key Club sold cold water bottles and coffee by Cafeteria B to raise money for March of Dimes, one of Key Club International’s Service Projects. We raised $36.21! That’s 20% of the way to our goal of $180.00 this year for March of Dimes that was set by NJ Key Club board. Thank you to those members who helped run the table!

Club Day Coming up on October 9th is the annual Club Day in the courtyard where all the high school clubs recruit members and get the word out about their clubs. Key Club will have their own table where we will be handing out cookies to people who sign up to join the club. If you are interested in working the table during any lunch periods please let any officer know.

Fall Rally – Six Flags

First Meeting of the Year!

Want to go to Six Flags Great Adventure for only $47? Then come out to Key Club’s annual Fall Rally at Six Flags Great Adventure on Sunday October 11th! There is a meeting of Key Clubbers from all over New Jersey in the morning in the Six Flags Arena. Then members can spend the rest of the day at Six Flags including Fright Fest if you want! If you are interested please let one of the officers now so that we can get a head count, paper work can be filled out, and carpooling can be worked out.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 13th 3PM IN ROOM 117 We are very happy to announce that Ms. Amanda Cimaglia from March of Dimes will be joining us to talk with us about the work March of Dimes does in fighting prematurity from around the world to around the state. Please join us then and bring as many friends as you’d like! There will also be some food.

Purple Prematurity Awareness Day November 17th This year Westfield High School Key Club will be promoting the March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Day on November 17th. We will be spreading awareness by placing purple bows on 1 out every 10 chairs in the cafeterias to represent the 1 in 10 babies that are born prematurely. Each bow will be accompanied by a fact about prematurity and urge students to make a small donation in the bins outside in the hallway which will be manned by Key Club members. If you are interested in helping out with this fundraiser, make sure to attend the first two meetings of the year! And don’t forget to wear purple on November 17th!

Meet Ms. McGinley! This year Key Club will be led by our new adviser Ms. McGinley who teaches English at the high school. She says that Key Club is a wonderful club with a mission, and this is a great opportunity for students to get involved in helping the community.

Meet Stephanie Gonzalez! This year our district will be led by the wonderful Stephanie Gonzalez who is serving as the Lieutenant Governor (LTG) of District 14. Stephanie is a senior at Elizabeth High School and will help keep us connected to all the other Key Clubs in the district, New Jersey, and the country. Other high schools in our district include Arthur L. Johnson High School, Edison High School, Elizabeth High School, JFK Memorial High School, JP Stevens High School, and Rahway High School.
