This meeting brought together over 200 nurses and midwives who shared openly with nurse leaders on all issues affecting them. The meeting was presided over by Nurse leaders such as Dr Safinah Museene, Commissioner for Health Education and Training as well as Ms Angella Ilakut, Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council answered these questions.

Key issues arising from this meeting have been forwarded to the respective professional bodies for follow up and action. The Think Tank Thanks to all Nurses and Midwives who took part in this dialogue.

ACHIEVEMENTS

The NMLTT wishes to congratulate the following nurse and midwife leaders on their recent achievements. Nurse Martin Lubega - an aspiring young nurse and author who will be joining the editing team for this newsletter from January 2022 Ms. Irene Atuhairwe, one of the editors for the Newsletter, appointed as the Country Director for Seed Global Health. Read a recent interview here, where she narrates her journey. Sr. Beatrice Amuge recognised for her outstanding contribution to health service delivery in 2020/2021. Dr. Museene Safina, recognised for Outstanding contribution to Health Professionals’ Education and being the first Commissioner for health education and training by Hoima School of Nursing and Midwifery.
