saturn
EDITOR’s... Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second-largest in the Solar System, after Jupiter. It is a gas giant with an average radius of about nine times that of Earth. It only has one-eighth the average density of Earth; however, with its larger volume, Saturn is over 95 times more massive. Saturn is named after the Roman god of wealth and agriculture; its astronomical symbol represents the god’s sickle. The Romans named the seventh day of the week Saturday, Saturni dias (“Saturn’s Day”) no later than the 2nd century for the planet Saturn. Saturn’s interior is most likely composed of a core of iron–nickel and rock (silicon and oxygen compounds). Its core is surrounded by a deep layer of metallic hydrogen, an intermediate layer of liquid hydrogen and liquid helium, and finally a gaseous outer layer. Saturn has a pale yellow hue due to ammonia crystals in its upper atmosphere. An electrical current within the metallic hydrogen layer is thought to give rise to Saturn’s planetary magnetic field, which is weaker than the Earth’s, but has a magnetic moment 580 times that of Earth due to Saturn’s larger size. Saturn’s magnetic field strength is around onetwentieth of Jupiter’s. The outer atmosphere is generally bland and lacking in contrast, although long-lived features can appear. Wind speeds on Saturn can reach 1,800 km/h (1,100 mph; 500 m/s), higher than on Jupiter, but not as high as those on Neptune.[27] In January 2019, astronomers reported that a day on the planet Saturn has been determined to be 10h 33m 38s + 1m 52s − 1m 19s , based on studies of the planet’s C Ring. The planet’s most famous feature is its prominent ring system, which is composed mostly of ice particles, with a smaller amount of rocky debris and dust. At least 82 moons. are known to orbit Saturn, of which 53 are officially named; this does not include the hundreds of moonlets in its rings. Titan, Saturn’s largest moon, and the secondlargest in the Solar System, is larger than the planet Mercury, although less massive, and is the only moon in the Solar System to have a substantial atmosphere.

Alain Giroux Canada
Tell us about your artistic work: why do you do it, what do you want to express, if you have a precise style and a specific technique or change them in every project. My journey consist of creating art with different colors to see how I feel personally with each piece as well as to share them with others and see how they feel. In both cases, We can definitely feel strong connections with the art and try to find words to explain the emotions. All of my artworks have a natural flow of different vibrations filled with textures and landscapes represented in a colorful way. Within which mood of art you place your artwork (if there is a specific one) It’s all about the energy. Selecting the right colors can set the mood you want to create. Could you tell us something about the art in your country? Is there an active artistic community? Are you part of it? (if there are links to suggest, please indicate them.) If you mention collective groups or societies, please report them correctly and verify that the links work - If you want to attach some images, do so too) Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and Calgary have great art communities with all types of art. But for me so far, the best experience that I have been part of for the last 3 years is the art fair in Florida named Art Fort Lauderdale on water. Here is the link: https://www.artftlauderdale.com/ What’s a typical day in Alain Giroux’s life? I like to be creative everyday so typically I would start my day with making some drawings. I have a massive collection of 15 000 drawings of funny little creatures that I started at 17 years old. Then, I would compose some electronic music to go on my next album or play some drums. I would then go to the gym or go for a run in the afternoon. And after dinner, I would spend most of the evening painting. Traveling for art, for example for personal exhibitions or for other art exhibitions you want to see?Do you like to see others’ art? In 2015, I decided to travel with my art and be part of exhibitions with other artists around the world. So far, it has been a wonderful experience and you get so much out of each experience. You get to share your art and discover other artists. Where are your favorite places or themes where you can find inspiration for your work? Since I am exploring nature and landscape in my paintings, I like to visit beaches and outdoor areas. Have you studied art or are you self-taught? I am a self-taught artist. I was born in a family of musicians and artists that inspired me growing up so I learned a lot. I also have a degree in graphic design and I am a musician. Do you remember the first artistic work you did? Having an amazing memory, my first artistic work was at age 4. I would hide behind my bed and draw with colored pencils the wooden base of the bed. Then I decided to draw directly on the walls in my room and my parents were not to happy to clean the walls. By age 14, they made my room in the basement as I could paint on all the walls. What do you think about social networks and the web about art and artists? Social networks and the web give a lot of opportunities to connect around the world and discover other amazing artists. It also helps me tell my story and share my passion. Could you talk to us about the idea of your project? My project is the creation of a series of abstracts to explore the effect of colors on us. Everyone
has a different experience and that is what I am interested in. By creating colorful landscapes that lets your imagination take over, it brings a deep connection to your inner self and you express what you see and feel from the artwork. Have you organized any exhibitions in the past? How does it feel to involve others in your art? In the last couple of years, I did a few art talks and shared with other artists. I am definitely looking to organize some exhibits in the future. What is your favorite artwork? My favorite artwork is The persistence of Memory from Salvador Dali. I have an autobiographical memory that goes all the way back to 14 months old. That is rare so that’s why this painting speaks to me a lot. If you could show off your artwork anywhere in the world, where would you choose? My goal is to show in major cities around the world. Cities that I would love to showcase in the next 2 years are Tokyo, Amsterdam, London, Barcelona and Los Angeles. Are you reading a book at the moment? There is one book you have on your reading list? Actually, I just finished writing and creating a series of 12 books for kids in English and in French. For reading, I like to read biographies of artists and their journey. Is there a famous contemporary artist that you want to report? I like the famous Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama with her colorful installations. And an artist who is not famous but who you like and whose artistic research do you share? I like Joshua Smith who is a miniaturist. http://www.iknowjoshuasmith.com You have been contacted by No Name Collective Gallery and did not know what kind of project we would have made: are you happy to trust us? I am happy to be part of your group. I like to see innovative ways to engage art around the world and I like your approach. We ask for a small fee for the selection of the magazine and our other calls (artistic residencies and art clashes) but for the artists, we have selected and which we will select every year then we work for free. What do you think about this thing?I agree as long that it is affordable for artists who are not selected. Also, you give a fair chance to still be part of the selected group each year.
