Who are you? I work at the LBTS6 Media Company to create a short film to demonstrate different camera shots, movements and angles. The Big Idea in 25 words or less. My story is about speed dating. A guy dates two girls at the same time and goes to meet them. After meeting them, both girls refuse him. How will you include – shot reverse shot/ 180-‐degree rule/ rule of thirds? Shot reverse shot is a film technique where one character is shown looking at another character and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character. I will be including this by having a scene of shot reverse shot in 3-‐4 of my scenes. This is to show what is happening from one shot to another. The 180-‐degree rule is there to ensure the audience not to become confused and to make them understand the point of view of the scene. Therefore the camera must not cross the invisible line that crosses the filming area. I will make sure that I do not cross the line by keeping the camera in one place and not crossing over. The rule of thirds is a guideline, which applies to the process of composing visual images such as paintings, photographs and designs. The guideline proposes that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-‐ spaced horizontal lines and two equally-‐spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections. I will include this by ensuring that my character is touching the line of the 9 boxes. Where will you film? Who you will you cast? What props, costumes etc. will you need? I will be filming in the school in the sixth form, outside a café in the local area and outside a house to get the first opening scene for my film. I will be casting a guy and two girls. The prop I will be using is a mobile phone and the costumes are going to be formal for the guy and casual for the girls. When you will film? I will be filming in the afternoon next week Wednesday 10th. I will practice my camera shots and angles so that when I film next time, I have an idea of what I am filming.
