Whether participating in a family swim, aquafit class, or swimming lessons, the pool is a great place for people of all ages and abilities to make friends and stay active.

Swim Admission Standards

Admission standards are in place to increase the safety of young swimmers and to provide an additional level of supervision. Norfolk County pools use a wristband policy and facility swim test to identify young and at-risk swimmers in the pool.

• All children under 7

• Shallow end only

• Must be arms reach of a responsible parent or guardian over 14

• Maximum of 2 children per parent/guardian or 4 children per parent/guardian if children are in lifejackets

• Children 7-10 years of age

• Shallow end only

• Must be arms reach of a responsible parent or guardian over 14

• Maximum of 2 children per parent/guardian or 4 children per parent/guardian if children are in lifejackets

• Children 7- 10 years may do the swim test to be allowed to swim in the deep end.

• Children 7 – 10 years of age who have successfully completed the facility swim test may swim in any area of the pool and without a parent/guardian.

• We suggest that the parent/ guardian continue to swim with their child regardless of the children’s swimming ability.
