GOURMET-HARSTAD - a culinary Mecca for food lovers!
Every country has a region uniquely attractive to those who appreciate good food and drink. Harstad - in the middle of Northern Norway - has in recent years developed into such a place. Domestic and international food experts have come to visit the city, and have offered glowing appraisals of how fresh local materials are matched with international ingredients and dishes, particularly from Mediterranean countries. Combined with a unique network of wine producers and wine importers, the most delectable dishes are raised to an even higher standard with perfectly matched wines. There has been no shortage of praise from professionals and guests, and experts have written five-star reviews in both newspapers and professional journals. Proximity to the sea, the light and the Gulf stream have all contributed to making Harstad a culinary Mecca. It is the warm water from the Caribbean Sea that keeps the temperatures north of the Arctic Circle 5 to 10 degrees warmer than what it otherwise might have been. Ocean currents also contribute to making the fish population in the area particularly strong and healthy. The fjords and coastline around Harstad are full of fish; especially cod, halibut and pollock. But also specialties such as salmon, redfish and cusk. Shellfish, such as blue mussels and scallops can be found here, and a little further north is the hugely popular king crab. The area around the islands in the region offer particularly fine grazing conditions due to a climate with a perfect balance of sunlight, rain and clean air.
This yields locally sourced raw ingredients of high quality meat from fowl and including moose, venison, lamb, pork, beef, duck and grouse. In this hotspot of raw materials it’s no wonder that interest and talent for the preparation of these precious ingredients has flourished, as they are prepared alongside the vegetables and berries of the region, with pates, spices, hams and other exciting elements from the Mediterranean countries, just as our ancestors did centuries ago. Had we failed to developed restaurants and menus that make these unique taste experiences available to travellers from around the world, it would be nothing less than a betrayal against food lovers!

- a culinary, historical and cultural gem! This historical property with its scenic location is situated only six kilometres from Harstad. Built in 1673, it has been run by the Kulseng family for ten generations. The main building is in a Trøndelag architectural style and dates back to 1750, while the barn containing the Harr Gallery is from 1899. The manor has held royal permission to function as a guesthouse since the 18th century. The manor itself stands on the ridge of a steep hill with a view of the open fjord and the majestic mountains. Surrounded by an impressive nine-hole golf course and several preserved buildings. In the main building, tables are set for parties of up to 40 people with porcelain, crystal and elegance, in these splendid surroundings. Portraits of the family’s ancestors hang on the walls of the antique lounges decorated with rococo door panels. In the gallery, adorned with paintings by the artist Karl-Erik Harr, events can be arranged on one or two floors, with a capacity of up to 200 people. The manor also offers unique accommodation for those who wish to experience the peace, scents and simple sounds of the farm, evoking a sense of naturalism and pastoral romanticism. All the raw ingredients are in plain view at this manor. Delicious meals are offered from the generous sea, lush fields, flourishing vegetable fields and sun-drenched berry bushes. Through its openness and contact with Europe, Røkenes has incorporated European food traditions, dishes and wines that lend these culinary experiences a touch of luxury - if this is desired. The Northern Norwegian cordiality and rustic form has been infused with French traditions and secrets. Nature, the manor, the stories and the joy of food create a unique framework, and an atmosphere that has won Røkenes Manor and Guesthouse several awards, including St. Olav’s Rose for its exceptional efforts in preserving Norwegian cultural heritage. As its latest addition to its flora of services, Røkenes Manor and Guesthouse has opened an African-themed room in the silo (!), resulting from an eight year stay in Botswana. These unusual combinations of Norwegian tradition and international influence reveal a drive to maintain and preserve the coastal culture of the region while at the same time drawing inspiration from quality and diversity from abroad. There are so many reasons why you should book your next trip and your next event - at Røkenes Manor and Guesthouse!

RØKENES MANOR AND GUESTHOUSE
De 4 roseR
- a flagship in the region’s restaurant flora! Someone has to lead the way. And when Northern Norway decided to actively make use of its natural resources to create the most exquisite dishes based on local raw materials and top culinary expertise, De 4 Roser (The 4 Roses) restaurant was established in Harstad on 8 March 1996. The goal was to create a restaurant that would “shine” - even beyond the borders of the region. And so it does. Today it is considered to be one of the country’s foremost restaurants based on the quality of the food and wine and on the highly skilled staff. This has been made possible by the owners’ unique and unwavering passion for the pleasures of food and wine, with an insistence on using only the highest quality ingredients, and by an uncompromising desire to provide guests with an optimal dining experience. This is why, from the very beginning, they have recruited the best chefs and cooks from both Norway and abroad. As the word has spread, some of the most skilled professionals have expressed a desire to work at this quality restaurant. It is situated in the city centre, in a venerable old house. There is a high-quality restaurant on the upper floor, and a trendy cafe with simpler dishes, using the same raw ingredients, on the floor below. De 4 Roser prefers to source its produce from the local area. The world’s best strawberries from Kvæfjord, and lovely raspberries from Grytøya. Vegetables grown exclusively by the best farmers in the region. Lamb from Lofoten. King crab from Finnmark. Fish from just outside the restaurant in Vågsfjorden and adjacent fjords in the archipelago. All of this is infused with a touch of Italy and France. When a sommelier serves your wine, you should know that every course on the menu has been tried and tested by a discerning palate. Study trips may have resulted in a preference for the wines from the Piedmont region. But here you can simply trust our recommendations! The crystal and damask tablecloths have been given competition by new and modern décor. While maintaining quality and elegance they have still managed to make this an informal dining experience. This combination has made De 4 Roser one of the most sought after restaurants in the country for both professionals and guests.

UMAMI
- Well-deserved food enjoyment!
- the fifth taste!
In the middle of Harstad town square stands Hoelstuen, inside one of Harstad’s oldest townhouses, dating back to 1895. Café and restaurant businesses have been run in the townhouse since 1933.
Umami is the latest addition to Harstad’s gourmet paradise. When Kim-Håvard Larsen and Sigrid Rafaelsen established the place in Havnegata in 2011, it arrived as a breath of fresh air. They were literally described as “the new wine” in Harstad’s restaurant environment.
Today, this is home to one of the best gourmet restaurants in the region, with an excellent staff. You will be served the finest meals in splendid surroundings, in a relaxed and home-like atmosphere.. Well-trained waiters and chefs ensure this experience, and it will be unusual if the owner himself isn’t there, making sure that you and your party are receiving the top quality and personal service for which Hoelstuen is renowned. Hoelstuen supports Northern Norwegian coastal culture and actively participates in creating unique Arctic menus. The owners also travel abroad, seeking inspiration and knowledge. Drawn by its warm and hospitable atmosphere, producers and suppliers of raw ingredients from Norway and abroad often come to visit. The staff has developed a preference for Italian wine, although wines from the other great wine countries are certainly served as well. Like many other restaurants in Harstad, Hoelstuen loves to produce menus with matching wines. Like any other friend might do, you are free to change your selection if you prefer a different wine. - I can’t sleep at night if the wine doesn’t suit our meals, says the owner with a smile, and adds - I’ve become more and more convinced that part of the secret to our success is just that. We don’t give up until our guests are one hundred percent satisfied. Hoelstuen now has an offshoot in the Bark café, just 50 metres away. Simpler meals are served here, also in a venerable and traditional venue. Sometimes our guests want a simpler solution, and this is an alternative. At Hoelstuen, however, we want our guests to take their time. And we have plenty of time to wait until they are finished with food, avec and good conversation. And if the guests need a guitar to convey their messages and emotions, and this can also be conjured up from the back room.

HOELSTUEN
Umami is also known as the fifth sense of taste. It was discovered more than a hundred years ago, and is the “little brother” of sweet, salt, sour and bitter tastes. Literally, the word means pleasant and savoury. And that is precisely what Umami has succeeded in creating. They are uncompromising in terms of the quality of their ingredients. Once this is ascertained, their main priority is to bring out the unique qualities and flavours of the ingredients in the best possible manner, without adding too much else to the mix. When this is done with artistic design, the dishes become a delight for the eyes, and a new experience for the palate. Umami has managed to introduce a new taste to Harstad’s unique gourmet landscape. The young owners have both worked at some of the best restaurants in the country, and received their certificates in Oslo. Both the chefs and the apprentices at Umami have participated in World Chef Championships and the Culinary Olympics for the Norwegian national youth culinary teams.Umami has a small, intimate restaurant with a capacity for 25 guests and is designed as a kitchen and dining room. Here you can try your hand at preparing food with the chefs, take a cooking course, participate in food games or simply share an appetizer with the chefs before the meal. Their slogan is “food where you are”, which means that they can also serve you a meal wherever you are - whether you’re at home, in the mountains or by the sea. Skilled as they are in cooking fish and shellfish, a gastronomic experience by the sea is a magical event. After all, they are members of “Taste of the coast”, an organisation which promotes coastal gastronomic experiences. It is impossible not to notice the young owners’ love of the region, and we guarantee you will find their playful and flexible style and mannerisms infectious.

intended use. There is also a “coastal artillery collection” of equipment and instruments from the German coastal batteries during World War II, and later used by Norwegian coastal battery gunners.
The fort is a monument to those who lost their lives during the construction work, and to those who were driven from their homes as a result of the defence line during World War II.

CHIEFTAIN’S FARM AT THRÓNDARNES Asbjørn Sigurdson inherited this large farm at Trondenes at the age of 18. In 1022 he sailed to Sola to buy grain from his uncle, Erling Skjalgsson. At Avaldsnes, both his cargo and sail were stolen by Tore Sel. The following year, Asbjørn sailed out with a longship and 90 men to seek revenge. He decapitated Tore Sel before the eyes of King Olav at the king’s farm on Karmøy. With the aid of Erling Skjalgsson, Asbjørn escaped with his life. As punishment he was to become one of the king’s men at Avaldsnes. Asbjørn was allowed to return home to Trondenes, but defied the king and never returned to Karmøy. On his way from Vågan in 1024, he was killed with a spear. Sigrid, his mother, gave the spear to Tore Hund with the following words: “It would be a manly deed, if thou shouldst throw this spear from thy hand so that it stood in Olaf’s breast. And this I can tell thee, that thou wilt be named coward in every man’s mouth, if thou dost not avenge Asbjorn.” Tore Hund landed the killing blow on Olav with his spear Selshemnaren, impaling him through his armour at the battle of Stiklestad in 1030. At Altevågen, just past the lookout point Prekestolen, are five burial mounds and two ruins of boathouses from the Viking Age.

MEDIEVAL CHURCH – “That church has something to tell us” These are the words of poet Petter Dass. In 1613, Peder Calussøn said: “Trondenes Church is the most beautiful stone church in the Norwegian countryside”. The church had a somewhat enigmatic beginning, a golden age, but also periods of decline. After several years of restoration the door were re-opened in 1950, and bishop Berggrav called it “Northern Norway’s Cultural Heirloom”. All who enter Trondenes Church are captivated by the unique atmosphere in the great church room. No less impressive is the chancel, which is larger than what is commonplace today. At the heart of the chancel stands the triptych, which represents an important part of the church’s 700-800 year history. PAINFUL HISTORY - THE WAR YEARS War left its mark on Trondenes. German occupation forces constructed “Batterie Trondenes” on the ridge of the peninsula. From this position they could protect targets in Andfjorden without being seen, but the location also enabled them to participate in attacks on targets in the outer part of Ofotfjorden. This way, the artillery battery at Trondenes could be utilised in the defence of all routes into Narvik. Four 40.6 calibre guns were erected. From 1942 to 1945 there was a large prison camp at Trondenes. Many of the prisoners died here. Russian prisoners who were held at the camp when Norway was liberated raised a monument to their fallen comrades in the summer of 1945. The prisoners claimed that 800 had died under horrendous conditions in German captivity at Trondenes. Finnmark lay in ruins after the war, and a total of 930 inhabitants were lodged in 100 barracks at Trondenes. The Finnmark camp was in use until early 1951, and was thereby the evacuation camp In Norway which was operational for the longest period of time.
HAVE A HISTORICAL DAY! Trondenes is a historical peninsula. Stroll along the marked heritage trail, through the Viking Age and boathouse sites, and onward to the painful history of the Soviet prison camp and the Finnmark camp. Enjoy watching the Norwegian wild sheep and Nordland cattle graze, as they maintain the cultural landscape. Enjoy the birdlife at Laugen, where 42 species of birds have been registered, or walk “The Trail Along The Sea” accompanied by the sound of crashing waves. Join a tour of one of the world’s largest land-based guns, enjoy the tranquillity of the world’s northernmost medieval stone church, and wander through 1000 years of ploughs, crosses and swords, at Trondenes Historical Centre. Enjoy a nice meal at the café or bring a packed lunch, perhaps even a swimsuit, to Altevågen No matter what you choose, we know you’ll have a historical day!

ATTRACTIONS The Harstad region is home to a number of historical sites spanning several eras and historic events. The Viking Age, the Middle Ages, World War II and the old engineering industry in Harstad are well-represented with local history tied to each attraction. On the Trondenes peninsula you will find the world’s northernmost medieval stone church (approx. 1250), one of the largest land-based guns from World War II, Viking sites and the Trondenes Historical Centre. The latter presents the Harstad region’s history, starting from the early Stone Age up to the present day. The schooner Anna Rogde, the pride of the city and a cultural treasure, is also an important part of Harstad. Dating back to 1868, the ship is the world’s oldest operational schooner. If your interests lie in industrial history, you can visit Helleren Power Plant Museum in the municipality of Skånland. The museum teaches an important part of Norwegian technical devel-
16
opment over the last 90 years. Within the same municipality you will find the sculpture “7 Magical Points”, which is a part of Artscape Nordland. In the municipality of Tjeldsund you will find both relics from the Viking Age and the sculpture “Media Thule”. One of the most impressive Viking weapons ever found is from Tjeldøya, and a replica is on display at Tjeldsund museum. Outside of Harstad lies Nupen, a popular vantage point for watching the Midnight Sun. It was awarded the title “Norway’s most romantic place to see the Midnight Sun” by a renown travel magazine.

Experience Harstad and its surroundings from a bicycle seat! In 2013, Harstad organised a popular celebration when the first ever “Arctic Race of Norway” completed its final stage in the heart of Harstad. 850 cyclists biked the difficult Arctic Race of Norway challenge- from Harstad city centre, along the scenic trail of Kvæfjord and Nupen, before returning to central Harstad. The terrain around Harstad also offers options for mountain bike enthusiasts. Trails in Folkeparken, bike paths at Storhornet, or off-road and off-track - there is plenty of fun available for those will full-suspension bicycles!

ROUTE 1 Harstad around Kvæfjord (from ARN Challenge text:) Route information: The route starts in Samagata at Sama. From there the trail will take you upwards (2.3%) for 7.5 km to Kvæfjord eidet, which is the course’s highest point at 200 masl. You then cycle downward towards Kvæfjord on a steep slope, before reaching the first break of the day after 17 km, at Borkenes. The journey then continues along the sea through a beautiful landscape all the way to Nupen, where you reach the second rest stop after about 34 km. From Nupen you will continue in the direction of Harstad again, and after 41 km you will encounter the final challenge of the day: cycling uphill over Høgda (5.8%). The final stage to the town takes you through beautiful Ervik. ROAD/TRAIL 2 Folkeparken, less than 2 km from central Harstad. TERRAIN/TRAIL 1 Storhornet, 510 masl. Drive towards Aunfjellet (approx. 8 km northeast of central Harstad), and start from Høgda just after the exit towards Aunfjellet/Elgsnes. On the right side of the road is a tractor road that eventually becomes a trail. Follow this trail to the top. Follow the same route back. A pleasant trip. TERRAIN/TRAIL 2 Kvitnesvetten, 303 masl. Kvitnesvetten is easily accessible by mountain bike. Drive southward from Harstad, over the Tjeldsund bridge. Park at the parking lot where the bridge meets the mainland. The trail begins right there from the parking lot before the toll bridge, on the right side, up a steep slope. From here it is easy to follow a well laid-out trail to the top. Before you pass the stream, there is a smaller trail turning right, whichh Is better suited for cycling. After passing the spring it becomes steeper for a while, before it again plateaus towards the top. Follow the same route back. Challenging at times, but a pleasant cycling route. Warning! The beginning of the route may be wet and muddy. www.destinationharstad.no

HARSTAD ARCHIPELAGO Harstad is located on Norway’s largest island, Hinnøya, providing the region with a rich and varied archipelago, as well as excellent opportunities for fishing and other recreational activities. Outside Harstad is a multitude of islands, islets and skerries, with fantastic white sandy beaches and rocky shores. The area has bird cliffs inhabited by thousands of sea birds nesting each spring, a large eagle population, seals and whales. Fun fact - this is also the northernmost inhabited archipelago in the world! The Tjeldnes nature reserve on Tjeldøya also includes a vital breeding and resting area for wetland birds. Grovfjord in the Skånland municipality displays the local coastal culture, with an emphasis on boat building. Here you can see the splendid cutter ship M/K Folkvang from 1911, or book a boat tour of the fjord. Harstad is the home port of the world’s oldest operational schooner, the ”Anna Rogde”, and the northbound and southbound Hurtigrute ferries meet each morning at the quayside.
You can visit this natural paradise by bicycle, bus, boat or kayak. Or perhaps you’d prefer a fast-paced coastal RIB safari?
© B åt & M oto r s e r v i c e
We recommend a trip out to the Krykkjeberget bird cliffs on Bjarkøy island, or to the skerries outside Krøttøy to look for seals. White-tailed Sea Eagles can be spotted almost anywhere in the region.

ARCHIPELAGO SAFARI BY RIB With some of the safest and most robust RIB boats ever built, we offer a safari in the archipelago, with various themes and routes. Our boats, equipment and skippers will guarantee some fantastic adventures on this swift journey past interesting sights and animal habitats, interspersed with a more relaxed pace between islets and skerries for a true nature experience. Now and then, we’ll stop to listen to the skipper and guide talk about animal life, history and natural phenomena. The world’s northernmost inhabited archipelago is imbued with a rich history from the Viking Age to the present day, and the Arctic wildlife is diverse and exciting - on land, in the air or under the sea. Sundsvoldsundet is home to some of the most impressive nesting cliffs along the Norwegian coast. We’ll get as close to the cliffside as possible, and to the kittiwakes nesting there by the thousands, while white-tailed eagles circle overhead, hoping for a bite to eat. At our destination on Bjarkøy, Midtgard, we offer excellent facilities for meals, storytelling and nature experiences.

HIKING AND MOUNTAINS Harstad is a Mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. The Harstad region offers a variety of opportunities for hiking and mountain trips, at all levels of challenge, in summer as well as winter. Less than 2 km from central Harstad is Folkeparken, a popular recreational area frequented by Harstad inhabitants. Here there are marked hiking trails with wide pathways. You can choose to make a loop, or continue up past Musvannet Lake if you prefer hiking in the mountains. Harstad Hiking Association offers cabins, routes and trips in the Hinnøya and Sør-Troms area. The routes and cabins are on the north-eastern part of Hinnøya where the terrain is less alpine and more ”foot-friendly”. However, it is still possible to reach peaks above 1000 metres. ”Top Ten” is a facilitated mountain hiking package for people of all ages. The pamphlet includes descriptions of 20 trip destinations around the municipality. During the winter, ski trails are routinely prepared at Kvæfjordeidet Folkeparken and at Kilbotnmarka. Our neighbouring municipality of Tjeldsund also offers some good hiking opportunities in the beautiful Kongsvikdalen valley. On the mainland side you will also find one of Norway’s longest cave networks, Trollkjerka. Wandering below the ground is an exciting alternative!

From the middle of June to early October you can be fairly certain that the high mountains will be free of snow. This period varies from year to year, but below 350 masl and close to the coast, the season normally lasts longer. Weather conditions can shift quickly and unexpectedly, so remember to bring warm clothes, a map and a compass! Maps and advice for your hike are available at Harstad Tourist Office. We are also a service office for Harstad Hiking Association and the Norwegian Trekking Association, so you can buy and rent keys to their cabins here.
PUBLIC RIGHT OF ACCESS The right to freely access nature is an important part of the Norwegian cultural heritage. It is prohibited to light fires in forests and fields between 15 April to 15 Sept. For more information about the freedom to roam, see: www.dirnat.no
RECOMMENDED DESTINATIONS Keipen north, 490 masl (easy) Keipen is a relatively easy hike which offers a magnificent view from the top. Drive to Aunfjellet (8 km northwest of Harstad). Keipen is located on the left-hand side of the road at Aunfjellet. Park in the large parking lot at the top, just after the smaller shoulder parking area. From here there is a marked trail that leads to the peak. Fantastic view towards the west, and an excellent place to see the midnight sun. Approx. 4 km return trip, estimated time to reach the top is about 30 minutes. Elgen, 534 mals (intermediate) Elgen is located at the outermost point of the little peninsula between Kasfjorden and Toppsundet. Drive over Aunfjellet (8 km northwest of Harstad) and take a left towards the intersection when you reach the sea. Follow the road until you reach the chapel. Parking and starting point from Elgsnes chapel. Cross the road and follow the tractor road upwards. After 500 metres it becomes a trail which leads back up the ridge of the mountain. Approx. 7 km return trip, estimated time to reach the top is about 1 - 1.5 hours. Fantastic view from the top, and one of Harstad’s best vantage points for viewing the midnight sun. Sætertind, 1094 masl (difficult) Drive south from Harstad past the Tjeldsund bridge in the direction of Lødingen. Drive up to the sports centre at Sandtorg and park there. Follow the road/the trail from the soccer field, through the gate. Follow the road up to Årbogvatnet, then head south to the ridge where you will find a path leading to a cabin. From here you can follow the posts to reach the top. Follow the same route back. Warning! If you walk down the road on the northern side of the river, continue straight on at the crossroad near the sports grounds. If not, the trip will become considerably longer. Approx. 15 km return trip to the top, estimated time to reach the top is about 4 - 5 hours.

WINTER ACTIVITIES More and more people are travelling north to experience the “Arctic light”. This not only refers to the Northern Lights, but also the beautiful colours that paint the horizon blue, pink and orange in the winter darkness. The northern winter can also offer some harsh weather conditions with howling winds and unyielding blizzards. Some of the experience lies in the huge contrasts presented by the weather. After a strenuous ski trip or a day of winter activities and outdoor play, a cup of cocoa tastes even better indoors, as you reflects on the events of the day. Or perhaps you would prefer a cup of hot coffee prepared over a bonfire in the lavvo? The Harstad region offers a variety of options for the winter season. Cross-country skiing, mountain skiing, downhill skiing, treks to the peaks, ice-skating, sleigh rides, sledding or snow shoe excursions. There is both gentle terrain and prepared trails for those who prefer them, while the steep mountain slopes, with untouched powdery snow may tempt adrenaline seekers. ”The Great Ice Bathing Day” is held in the neighbouring municipality of Skånland each December. This is an opportunity to really test your manhood! Our partners in the region can offer everything from cross-country skiing instruction, fast-paced RIB boat trips on the fjord, or a day filled with a variety of winter activities and lavvo comfort, to chasing the Northern Lights on one of the mountaintops in the region. We adapt the trips to your needs and wishes.

POLAR NIGHT Polar Night encompasses the period between 2 December to 10 January - with only a few hours of midday twilight. The ”blue light” on the southern horizon, just before it grows dark, is especially beautiful.
NORTHERN LIGHTS ”Aurora Borealis” is the Latin name for the Northern Lights - solar winds which hits the atmosphere in a zone around north magnetic pole. Northern Lights can only be seen when it is dark and the skies are clear, from August to April, and is most intense from 10 pm until midnight. The Harstad region is a great place to experience the beautiful and intense colours provided by the Northern Lights.

THE NORTHERN LIGHTS In the Harstad region the Northern Lights are best experienced at one of our mountain destinations, such as the Sollifjellet or Aunfjellet. We have several base camps for chasing the Northern Lights, far away from artificial lighting and right beneath the Aurora Borealias belt between Hinnøy and Senja. Weather and other natural conditions will determine the appearance of the Northern Lights appear, but we guarantee a fantastic experience chasing the Northern Lights, and a nature adventure in a class of its own. AUNFJELLET AURORA CAMP At Aunfjellet we have established a lavvo camp across a 800 m² area surrounded by snow and mountains. The sea and fjords can be seen on the horizon. This beautiful and impressive area is practically designed for experiencing the northern lights. The lavvo camp is only a few metres from the bus stop, and the camp is directly beneath the Aurora Borealis belt between Hinnøya and Senja. When weather and other conditions permit, this base is the superb starting point for Northern Lights experiences. There are campfires for heat, and food and coffee preparation, both inside and outside the lavvos. Duration: approx. 3 hours. October to April. Prices from kr: 690,-
AURORA SUMMIT LODGE At the top of Sollifjellet, 535 metres above sea level, is our “Aurora Summit Lodge”, an excellent base camp for chasing the Northern Lights, photo safaris and other spectacular nature experiences. The view is amazing! The cabin has room for up to 25 people to dine around the open fire pit, and a 360 degree view of the landscape offers a unique setting for a delicious meal. Specialties include Northern Lights Cocktails and Aurora Wild Chips made from dried reindeer meat. Transportation up the mountain by “Aurora Wildcat” snowmobile or snow scooters. October to April. Prices from 950 kr
