Hey! What is
the Summer Reading Club?
It’s a club here at the library for kids of all ages…it’s in the SUMMER and we hope you’ll find lots to READ, so we call it the Summer Reading Club!
Summer reading fun for children of all ages! June 16 to August 8 Read-To-Me
- for babies, toddlers and children not yet reading on their own
Summer Reading Club (SRC) - for children going into kindergarten through soon-to-be fifth graders!
There will be great fun activities and programs for summer readers of all ages. .. and all you need is your very own LIBRARY CARD!!
So, how soon can I sign up? Registration begins June 16, but you can sign up anytime between June 16 and July 31.
How do I join?
It’s simple – get your library card, then go online to www.northlandlibrary.org either at home or at the library and fill in the registration form. Once you have done that, come to the children’s area and we’ll get you started in the fun.
More questions you may askIs there anything new this year? All summer reading club members MUST have
their own library card! It’s easy and it’s free. Sign-up for your card at the customer service desk on the lower level of the Library, or online at www. northlandlibrary.org and pick it up the next time you are in the Library.
And....When you have your library card and have signed up for Summer Reading Club, stop by the children’s desk for your SRC folder to start the fun!
Do I need to come on a certain day?
Nope! Come whenever it fits your schedule. As long as we are here the fun goes on!!
How many books do I have to read? As many as you’d like-this is a fun club! Do I have to report on the books I read?
No, this is a fun club. But if you want to write a review of any of the books that you have read– you can do that at the same place you registered for Summer Reading Club.
Do I have to read books on a certain list?
No, this is a fun club! Although, if you have to read certain books for school over the summer, we’ll help you find them!
How do I keep track of the books I’ve read? You can keep track online using the same login ID and password that you used to register - but you don;t have to!
Are there prizes?
Of course! Each time you visit, you’ll get a token for the prize machine. You could get a prize right away, or you might get a slip telling you to go to the children’s reference desk to get your prize.
Is there anything else going on besides reading?
You bet! We’ve got lots of fun programs and activities planned for the summer. Check online for the most current information. Plus, we have lots of contests going on throughout the summer! You must be a member of the Summer Reading Club to enter the contests and attend the programs.
I registered to attend a special program, but how will you know I did?
Once we verify that you are signed up for summer reading club, and are the right age for the program we will give you a wristband. Only people with wristbands will be admitted to certain programs.
What is Questyinz? If you are in grades K-5 you can
participate in an online, interactive game called Questyinz. You can complete quests and win prizes for your character. Questyinz requires a membership card which you can get at the children’s reference desk.
Remember- we have lots of other things to borrow here at the library-like DVDs, Wii & x Box games, magazines, and for those long car rides-Audio Books!
Don’t miss out on the fun… join the Summer Reading Club… you’ll be glad you did!
