Adam and I met about four and a half years ago through a mutual friend, who got to be the best man in our wedding! We seemed to both be having similar conversations with our friend, Buck, about how we were serious about this and this felt different than anybody else we'd ever met! We had quickly become so close and had known that this was it for us, we were going to last a lifetime! We have enjoyed so many special memories from traveling near and far, buying a home, renovating our home and currently getting to live there and share our new life together. The house hunt had begun and ended quickly after finding our dream little 98 year old home! In March of 2021, we had closed on our house and had just experienced one of the most thrilling experiences together. After receiving the keys, we headed to our house to take our official picture now that we were homeowners! With our heads and hearts so full of love, excitement and pure joy for whatever we'd take on next, the best was happening right

behind me and I didn't even know it. I turned around and saw Adam was down on a knee with our house right in the background. It was truly the best and most special surprise I have ever experienced! DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING VISION

Adam and I really enjoyed putting all the pieces together on what we knew would be the best day together. The details sometimes weren't even in the design and the colors or the flowers. What was the most special was getting to piece together a day that we knew would mean the most to us forever. ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

The best advice I got and that I could give to any new bride in her planning season is to take in every moment. Slow down your mind and let the feelings sink in because there will be many throughout the journey and they are all so special.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING VISION My wedding vision was Enchanted Orchid. I wanted an elegant & whimsical fairytale feel to the evening. We chose the venue due to the woodsy, twinkling lights, secret-garden vibe. Our wedding was originally scheduled for May 2020, but due to COVID-19, we had to reschedule to November 2021. Needless to say, since we already had most of the planning done, I had to adapt my wedding vision from a Spring wedding to a Fall wedding. The bridesmaid dresses were lilac, so to fit the season, the flowers incorporated plum and orchid (magenta) tones. I also added rose gold as an accent color to make the color palette richer and more elegant. The flowers also incorporated rose gold, orchid, and lilac streamers to give them a whimsical element. My bouquet was a gorgeous cascade of white orchids, with accents of the other colors as well. The tables all had rose gold table runners to add sparkle and charm. The centerpieces were potted purple mums (sprayed with glitter, of course), with purple paper and sparkly ribbon tied around them. ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES Be FLEXIBLE. Be open to new ideas and the fact that things may/will not go according to plan. Instead of arguing or being upset, go with the flow and savor each moment, planned or not. The wedding (ceremony and reception) is a celebration! There's no need to get overly stressed or worked up over tiny details. It's fun to plan and see your wedding vision come to life, but if something isn't exactly as you had arranged or envisioned, don't worry about it!! It's hard to put into perspective beforehand, but when the wedding's over, you'll discover that the things you worried about are really not important; 18

just relish in the fact that you found your forever mate and your new life together is just beginning. D E S C R I B E Y O U R W E D D I N G D AY We really had two wedding days. Since our original date had to be rescheduled, we had a small ceremony with just our immediate families in September 2020. It was a gorgeous sunny day and so perfect in its simplicity. We got to properly celebrate with extended family and friends on November 6, 2020. (YAY for getting to wear my dress twice!). I feel so fortunate to say that our (2nd) wedding day was exactly how I imagined it and even more than I dreamed it could be. Magical is the only way to describe the feeling and scene of walking down the aisle with my dad, candles flickering in the hallowed Church, hearing the sweet violin strings of Canon in D. I sobbed the happiest tears as I saw dear friends and family members gathered for us. My heart exploded with love when my eyes finally met my groom's also damp eyes at the altar. It was a beautiful ceremony that concluded with an exuberant trumpet as we skipped out of the church! The reception flew by and every detail came together splendidly. Our vendors were incredible and went above and beyond expectations. The speeches made us laugh and cry, the dance lessons paid off when we finally got to show off our choreographed first dance, and the food and cake fueled us for partying the night away!

Spring is finally here, and wedding season is in full bloom! We love when brides incorporate the Pantone Color of the Year into their wedding color palette and this year’s famous color is Very Peri! Periwinkle is a perfect mixture of blues and purples all mixed into one and ideal for springtime weddings! Snapdragon Designs created the most amazing periwinkle inspired wedding. We loved how she

incorporated pastel colors along with bold and bright hues in her floral centerpieces and bouquet. The ceremonial arch that Snapdragon designed feels like it came from a fairy garden! It was simply whimsical with wood branches and garden roses peaking through the greenery. The flowers that she used were Delphinium, Anemones, Garden Roses, Ranunculus, Sweet Peas, Scabiosa, Veronica, Spray Roses and her famous Snapdragons.

The tablescape décor was provided by AAYS Event Rentals. The floral dishes were stunning and gave off a European ambiance and complemented the wood chargers. The copper flatware popped against the light blue linens.

Our model, Leah Lynch, looked stunning in a spaghetti strap, sweetheart neckline gown from Simply Yours Bridal & Formal Wear! The beaded bodice that flowed into the skirt of the dress is beautiful. The style of the gown matched perfectly with the whimsical theme of this shoot. Salon J did Leah’s hair and makeup. We loved how they swept the hair to one side with a loose braid and added in a few pieces of floral. Her makeup was immaculate with a rosy colored shadow and light pink lips. Leah looked like a beautiful fairy herself.

We went on a very intense backpacking trip through Isle Royale National Park. Evan had been there a few times with his family and really wanted to share the experience with me. We hiked almost 60 miles on trails (but walked many more miles in total than that according to my Fitbit) from one end of the island to the other, carrying 35 lb packs and filtering our drinking water from Lake Superior. He ended up proposing at Mount Ojibway which is his favorite spot on the island and also over the halfway point of our hike across (and at a part where I finally felt confident that we were going to make it through this hike since we had done the hardest parts already). D E S C R I B E Y O U R W E D D I N G D AY

We went to the courthouse to get married in 2020 and had to postpone our big celebration. When we had our courthouse nuptials, we didn't have anyone come with us so the ceremony was still incredibly special and our first public declaration of our marriage. We laughed, we cried, a large barge made a cameo in the background - it was perfect. We

also took group photos after the ceremony instead of a receiving line so we got a picture with everyone who attended our wedding - I will cherish those photos forever! DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING VISION

We wanted our day to be fun and beautiful. To us, fun meant not having to worry about coordinating a bunch of moving parts so we found a venue that took care of most of the big ticket items so we could have fewer vendors and also that was naturally beautiful so we didn’t feel like we had to go all out on decorations. ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

My advice would be to figure out what will make the day better/more fun for you and your spouse and focus on those aspects during the planning process and make sure your wedding party and vendors know what is most important to you. Be decisive when it comes to making decisions but be ready to go with the flow if little things go awry. It'll lead to a day that is less stressful for everyone involved!

CLP Events completely outdid themselves creating the most stunning tablescape. There were numerous fine details from the black candlesticks to the gold detailed charges and different styles and shapes of stemware. The sequined linens really stood out giving off a royal vibe. We must mention the amazing greenery arch that CLP Events created for this shoot! It felt like we were walking right into a magical forest. If you are having an indoor wedding but want to

bring nature inside, adding a floral arch is the perfect touch! Dixon’s Florist created the most beautiful centerpiece for the tablescape and bouquet for the bride. We loved the tall vase with floral draping over the side. Most of the floral they used were spring flowers! They used burgundy amaranthus, burgundy mini callas, rose hearts, white hydrangea, white snapdragons, white peonies, white orchids, and burgundy cymbidium orchids.

Our model, Amber Klut, looked stunning in a full-length spaghetti strap gown from Something Blue Bridal. We are obsessed with this dress from the lace detail to the long train. When the light hits the gown, it sparkles. Completely and utterly breathtaking! Amber added in a leather jacket and black riding boots creating that special edgy look that matched the vibe of this shoot! Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio (Highland & Crown Point) did an amazing job doing Amber’s makeup. We loved how beautiful and dramatic the smokey eye and bold lip looked. Amber’s hair was done by Leah from Generations Hair Salon, who created loose waves that cascaded down her back! It gave off a goddess vibe.

A truly magical day. It was a warm October day where the sun shone through the stained glass altar. I remember looking out at the pews and thinking how incredible it was that all of our loved ones were in one room for us. I'll never forget walking into The Brick to see all of our work come together. The tall centerpiece and bouquet were filled with various shades of white blooms including roses, tulips, ranunculus, and more. Our florist incorporated a few pale pink quicksand roses to add dimension. Our favorite floral detail was the spray of greenery and blooms throughout the space. Our tablescape featured white linens, a black cheesecloth runner at the occasional farm tables, white pillar candles with varied height glass votives and gold beaded chargers and flatware. We dressed the plated chargers with custom menus featuring our monogrammed wax seal. On the menu, we had a traditional Polish dinner for our meal. We always knew we wanted to celebrate Ryan's Polish background and Allie's did just that. It is a day that we will never forget and cherish for the rest of our lives!

As an interior designer I’ve always loved the elegant beauty found in simplicity. We chose to forgo the traditional pops of color and instead focus on the whites, golds and blacks that gave our wedding a timeless elegance. Our venue was a “blank canvas” venue with beautiful light that will always make our hearts skip a beat. It opens the door to a million different aesthetic possibilities. Sophisticated clean lines and abundance of natural light thanks to the many large windows. The white brick walls, concrete floors, and exposed ceilings adorned with crystal chandeliers are some of the features that this gorgeous venue is known for. Florals were an area in which we wanted to shine, but also stay true to our classic, somewhat delicate approach. We brought in black velvet through the bridesmaids dresses as a soft, yet high contrast to the overall aesthetic as well as bringing warmth from the occasional farm table. Additionally, we wanted to add details that were personal to us, like adding our Grandmothers’ charm to my bouquet, incorporating our dog, Rufus, into the bar, and our custom wax seal.

WEDDING VISION

I spent the morning getting ready with my bridesmaids at an Airbnb (The Arbors at Lemon Creek). It was a charming house nestled along the Lake Michigan Wine Trail. The property was so beautiful that I decided at the last minute to do our first look in the backyard underneath the arbor. We had unbelievably perfect weather and the fall colors were in full bloom. Our ceremony was outside in the middle of the vineyard and our reception was steps away in their gorgeous estate tent. The grapes were still on the vine throughout the vineyard and I loved seeing our guests exploring the grounds. It really was Pinterest worthy!

We always envisioned having an intimate wedding (around 70 guests) and I wanted the style to be minimalist yet classic. With friends and family, mainly from Illinois and Michigan, we found that Southwest Michigan was the perfect in between destination to celebrate. When we toured our venue we were blown away by how unique and picturesque it was.

There were so many highlights from the day but one of our favorite moments was taking first look photos with our fur baby, Sansa. She is a rescue we adopted 2 years ago and has brought us so much joy. We cannot wait to go back to visit and celebrate many anniversaries to come.

We also enjoy craft beer and wine and it felt special that this would all be made locally through them. Literally a week before the pandemic we were enjoying our tasting at Tabor Hill and finalizing our drink menu. As many other 2020 brides have also experienced, we ended up postponing our June date to October. It ended up being a huge blessing because we ended up having amazing weather on our new date and realized it was the same date Steve’s grandparents were married. Meant to be!
