IS A NEW JUKE C READ THE FULL ARTICLE ONLINE HERE

Auto Express have recently released images of a suspected design for the 2017 Nissan Juke. The upgraded vehicle is set to arrive in 2017 with greener engines, a hybrid version, upgraded technology and an allnew platform.

When the Juke was released it started a new trend in the car market and many consider it to be a pioneer of the baby SUV class. Nissan is now ready to unleash the second generation of the vehicle, bring more refined and efficient engines and an improved cabin. Auto Express’s exclusive images show the vehicle will keep many of its current Juke characteristics, and Nissan’s chief creative officer Shiro Nakamura has revealed the next generation will remain “edgy and less 6

mainstream.” The vehicle will look at retaining the highmounted headlights and distinct wheelarch blisters, but will incorporate Nissan’s new facelift. Another improvement will include a longer wheelbase which should help improve rear legroom. The new model will likely switch to the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s latest Common Module Family chassis technology, called CMF-B. This will open the Juke up to a range of new engines, including 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol’s. A 1.5-litre diesel and 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine are likely to continue from the current models. Nissan sources have also hinted that the next Juke could also get a hybrid variant, using a range-extender powetrain that debuted on the Gripz concept last September. Nakamura has said: “It is very tough to meet our emissions requirements without hybrid. It is almost mandatory.”

COMING IN 2017?

In the cabin, the next Juke is likely to include a range of soft-touch plastics and higher-grade fabrics to improve perceived quality. The infotainment system will also improve with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Finally, personalisation options are likely to improve, with a range of different colours and finishes on the facia highlights. The 2017 Juke will be produced at Nissan’s plant in Sunderland and is likely to be released after the latest Micra. A concept is likely to be with us within the next six months.

Stevenage FC Season Preview

CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL REVIEW

Stevenage FC rounded off an impressive pre-season with a 4-1 win over Milton Keynes Dons at the Lamex Stadium. The team will look at taking this form into the start of the Sky Bet League 2 Season, with their opening match again Crewe Alexandra.

In five of Stevenage’s last six seasons, Stevenage have either been in League One or League Two’s top seven. Last year ended in disappointment for the club, but they now look at bouncing back and hopefully challenge for promotion. Club Manager, Darren Sarll took over after a frustrating period under Teddy Sherringham’s leadership. Darren with advisor Glenn Roeder seem to be a great partnership and will hopefully provide the team with a foundation for strong performances over the season. Solidarity from the back seem prominent in Stevenage’s pre-season, recording four consecutive clean sheets. This is promising for the team as stand out centre-back partnership of Luke Wilkinson and Dean Wells look at continuing the form they showed in the second half of the season. Another key change to the Stevenage FC set up ahead of the season is the appointment of Long-serving Chris Day as goalkeeper coach. His guidance will be vital in supporting first-choice keeper Jamie Jones, who will certainly benefit from Day’s experience. Many fans and pundits are unsure of how Stevenage will perform this season, especially after the club going from playoff contenders to relegation battlers in the last two years. Many believe the fact Stevenage have kept the core of the squad and the management together will provide the team the opportunity to re-build this season and hopefully challenge for promotion. 10
