SUMMER RIDING COULD BE GETTING COOLER!

It looks like Honda is planning to make summer rides easier as the manufacturer has recently filed patents for a new air conditioning system for motorcycles. Before now, Air Conditioning has only been something car owner brag about to bikers but Honda are looking at changing that.

The patents filed have shown the air conditioning unit is a stand-alone tank bag that doubles up as a piece of luggage and needs to be mounted on the fuel tank. The bag has a zip liner in place, which opens to a storage space inside where a small blower unit and a rechargeable battery have ben accommodated. The system will then work by air being sucked from the mesh at the sides of the bag and blown through flexible vents towards the chin of your helmet. If the day gets any hotter, a separate flap underneath the tank’s bag lid is accessible and allows you to store an ice pack or bag of ice, in order to make sure the AC units blows cool air. We have very little other information on what Honda are planning to do exactly and the plans to incorporate the idea into future motorcycles. If Honda does proceed with this concept it should be a big step forward in rider comfort.

Honda 2016 NC750X impresses MCN Since the release of the NC750X it has been one of the most popular bikes across the Honda range. MCN have got their hands on one for a first drive and to see how much it has improved. MCN revealed the key changes include suspension, Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), front brakes, exhaust internals and styling. They went onto outline the new improvements have produced a bike that is both easy and fun to ride. It is also better looking than its predecessor and fits in with a theme across the Honda adventure range. They believe changes to the DCT and clutch set-up have been changed to give a smoother take off from a standing start. MCN commends

the updated 741cc parallel-twin motor which is ideal for bottom-end torque which gives the highest MPG possible. The main changes to the bike have been centred on styling to get a tougher adventure bike image. These changes created consistency across the adventure range and also provide an adventure for all sectors of the market. MCN conclude that the changes to the NC750X make it a significantly better bike. They believe it’s more fun, easier to ride, the DCT works better and the taller screen adds practicality. FUNDRAISING FOR TEA

Lethworth spinning!

Olympic Themed Cake Sale On the 24th June Norton Way Group held a fundraising day to support the British Paralympic Association, this was to help Nissan’s commitment to Paralympics GB on their road to Rio.

Nissan, who is amongst one of the brand within our Norton Way Group, is the Official Automotive partner of British Paralympic Association and as part of the Heartbeat of Britain campaign our day aimed to supercharge ParalympicsGB athletes in their preparation for the Rio 2016 Games. At the last Games, the support of the nation inspired ParalympicsGB to give the performance of their lives, helping to make the London 2012 Games their most successful yet. On the day we raised a total of £348.25 and these funds will help make the team the strongest it can be ahead of Rio 2016. Their success can achieve the BPA’s wider charitable vision to challenge perceptions and inspire a better world for disabled people.
