Honda launches new CBR250RR he CBR250RR has been launched in Indonesia, confirming the bike is going into the full production. Honda’s latest super sport model was previewed as a concept model last year being presented as a track-only bike, but it is now certain the bike will go on sale in 2016 to selected markets. Currently those markets do not include any of Europe, so the UK is currently missing out. As it stands, Honda has announced no plans to get the bike certified for UK sale and there is nothing scheduled either. Don’t let this disappoint you too much, the images of the CBR250RR has given us a glimpse of what the new 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade may look like. The angular and rakish styling are sure to be very similar and the Fireblade is also expected to have a quad-LED headlight. The lightweight sportsbike is powered by an all-new water-cooled four-stroke, four-valve, parallel-twin 250cc motor which Honda is aiming to have class-leading power. The engine has rideby-wire, three riding modes. The link to the larger models in the CBR range can be seen in the styling which features dual-LED front headlights along with the low-front, high-back end. Other key features include a newly designed steel pipe truss frame improves both strength and flexibility. The bike is able to be slimmer thanks to swingarm being an aluminium gullarm, and the right side swing arm shaped to reduce exhaust pipe extrusion. Watch out in store & online for more updates on this impressive bike!

AFRICA TWIN VICTORIOUS AT THE AUTOTRADER AWARDS Africa Twin has taken top Auto Trader honours, sweeping the board with five category wins. Alongside the overall title, the breadth and depth of the Honda range was evident, with wins in the Best A1, Best A2, Best Commuter and Best Adventure categories. Since the all-new CRF1000L Africa Twin arrived in showrooms at the start of the year, 30 years since its predecessor took the first in a run of four consecutive Paris-Dakar victories, it has remained the UK’s best-selling bike of 2016. Auto Trader’s editor-inchief and head judge, Jon Quirk, praised Africa Twin’s true adventure capabilities: “The Africa Twin is a genuine, dual-purpose adventure bike that puts Honda back at the very top of its game. In a market brimming with credible competitors, the Honda stands out with its clever combination of slim shape, superb engine and gearbox and excellent ergonomics. It’s a phenomenal all-rounder.” Honda UK’s head of bikes, Nick Campolucci, was ecstatic with the awards haul and commented: “What’s special about Africa Twin picking up the Auto Trader Bike of the Year prize is that everything the judges said about the bike matches precisely with what the design team wanted to achieve. For Honda to resurrect the legendary Africa Twin name, the bike had to be a comfortable but engaging road bike that’s

also incredible off-road. It had to be a true, all-round adventure motorcycle. “The new Africa Twin has surpassed all expectation and, when you look at the price-point, it’s no surprise to see it top the UK sales chart like it has.” As well as the Bike of the Year accolade, Honda’s CB125F took the prize for Best A1 bike for the second year running, while the CB500F was named best A2 machine, thanks to a host of updates for 2015, including a larger fuel tank, LED lighting, adjustable front forks and new lightweight exhaust. Finally, aside from Africa Twin being named Best Adventure Bike, alongside its overall win, possibly the most notable mention for Honda was in the Best Commuter category. For Nick Campolucci, the NC range has been a game changer for Honda: “The introduction of the NC was ground-breaking. It appeals to a totally new type of customer; to new riders and lapsed riders, to people who want the commuting ease of a scooter but the look of a ‘proper’ bike. It truly is pulling people out of crowded train carriages and onto two wheels.”

Stevenage FC Season Preview

CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL REVIEW

Stevenage FC rounded off an impressive pre-season with a 4-1 win over Milton Keynes Dons at the Lamex Stadium. The team will look at taking this form into the start of the Sky Bet League 2 Season, with their opening match again Crewe Alexandra.

In five of Stevenage’s last six seasons, Stevenage have either been in League One or League Two’s top seven. Last year ended in disappointment for the club, but they now look at bouncing back and hopefully challenge for promotion. Club Manager, Darren Sarll took over after a frustrating period under Teddy Sherringham’s leadership. Darren with advisor Glenn Roeder seem to be a great partnership and will hopefully provide the team with a foundation for strong performances over the season. Solidarity from the back seem prominent in Stevenage’s pre-season, recording four consecutive clean sheets. This is promising for the team as stand out centre-back partnership of Luke Wilkinson and Dean Wells look at continuing the form they showed in the second half of the season. Another key change to the Stevenage FC set up ahead of the season is the appointment of Long-serving Chris Day as goalkeeper coach. His guidance will be vital in supporting first-choice keeper Jamie Jones, who will certainly benefit from Day’s experience. Many fans and pundits are unsure of how Stevenage will perform this season, especially after the club going from playoff contenders to relegation battlers in the last two years. Many believe the fact Stevenage have kept the core of the squad and the management together will provide the team the opportunity to re-build this season and hopefully challenge for promotion. 8
