Key Speaker: Professor Eneida Mioshi, School of Health Sciences, University of East Anglia This talk will set the scene in regards to dementia in Norwich, UK and worldwide. It will present the impact of dementias from a few angles: the person, the family, and the community in general, which may support the discussions throughout the day.

Carer and person living with dementia story Q&A with panel Workshop A: How offering improved customer service for people living with dementia is good for business (Jennifer Nash, Clapham and Collinge and Phil Wright, Riverside Leisure Centre) Clapham and Collinge will cover the importance of staff training to improve customer service for clients living with dementia, as well as highlighting the legal consequences of dementia, the importance of raising awareness and how this is good for business. Riverside Leisure Centre will share their approach to training employees, the benefits for the team, along with the public. You will also find out about the inclusive activities offered by Riverside to the whole public. Workshop B: Supporting employees living with or caring for someone with dementia (Helen Burgess, Age Space, Chris Carter, Home Instead Senior Care and Steve Shore, ReAssure) This workshop will raise awareness of elder care issues faced by employees, where individuals/families can seek support and share examples of how


employers can support staff. Workshop C: How improving your environment is good for business (Aaron Frost, Norwich Airport) How adapting the outfit, with influence from charities, is integral to improving the amount of consumers using the business. Norwich Airport will share the steps they have taken to promote and influence disabled customers to travel. How charities knowledge on specific disabilities has broadened their understanding and mind set of consumers using the Airport. 11.30am – 11.45am 11.45am – 12.30pm

Refreshment break Workshop D: Business audits and training (Marie Lucas, Age UK Norwich) The workshop aims at helping businesses to get started on becoming a dementia-friendly organisation. It also provides tips, non-exhaustive guide and signposting to additional best practice resources and tools to help businesses become more dementia-friendly. Workshop F: Dementia Friends Information Session (Daniel Burgess and Rosa Cooper-Davies, Norwich Theatre Royal) During this friendly and interactive session you will increase your understanding of dementia, and think about the small things that you can do to make a difference to people affected by dementia in your community.
