Local Charity Appeals for New Home for Big Blue Playbus! MRC Community Action, based at The Marlene Reid Centre in Coalville is appealing for a new home for the Big Blue Playbus. The double decker, which is used to support local families in Coalville and the surrounding area, needs a secure parking place within a five mile radius of The Marlene Reid Centre on Belvoir Road. Lesley Massey, Children & Families Service Manager said “Our Big Blue Playbus plays an important part in providing support to local families by providing access to many different services in this area” Lesley added “We have been providing services to the local community for more than thirty years and really hope someone can offer us a secure space to park the bus”. The Big Blue Playbus is a converted double decker with the lower deck offering a child friendly play environment, whilst adults can access training on the upper deck. Children under five years of age, with their parents or carers, can access the Playbus free of charge. Toys and equipment can also be loaned through the Playbus for up to four weeks at a time. Additional services include confidential Employment Advice and information on the services that MRC Community Action can offer. 40 Local Businesses and Partners Discover the Benefits of Sustainable Travel Business Travel Network for Coalville programme launched 40 local businesses and partners from North West Leicestershire discovered the benefits of sustainable travel at a launch event for the new Business Travel Network for Coalville. Organisations including ATI Stellram, DHL and Intraining discovered how they can reduce Robin Pointon of Go Travel Solutions and John Merison their costs and grow of North West Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce business benefits through sustainable travel at the event, held at Stephenson College on 1 May 2013. Membership of the Business Travel Network for Coalville offers benefits including free business support, a unique range of travel offers and discounts from organisations such as Arriva and Centrebus and access to £5,000 Smarter Travel Grants.
