Planning Committee rejects housing development Readers may be interested to learn that the proposal to build 34 houses on land to the rear of 237 Bradgate Road Anstey, as reported in recent editions of the Local, has been unanimously rejected by Charnwood Borough Council’s Planning Committee. The Council received over 100 individual letters of objection together with a petition of almost 700 signatures, demonstrating people’s concern for the Charnwood countryside and worries about over-development in the region. The report of the planning officer noted significant and material considerations that resulted in the advice to the committee to reject this application. Local residents are pleased with the outcome so far. Should the developers appeal the decision there will be the opportunity to make further representations.
