Save Rothley Campaign Reaches Record Number of Objections The Save Rothley team paid a visit to Charnwood Borough Council on Monday 15th December to deliver another 809 letters of objection to the development of 175 houses off Westfield Lane, Rothley (P/14/2083/2). Santa took some time off from his busy schedule to lend a hand! Local residents have now submitted 2,287 objections, I can now confirm that we have broken the record for the number of objections received to any proposed development in Charnwood. I received the following form Charnwood Borough Council this morning: Our records indicate that the highest number of objections we have received to a planning application is 2,287 (correct as at 6 January 2015). The application is: P/14/2083/2 – site for the erection of up to 175 dwellings on land off Westfield Lane, Rothley. The Save Rothley team would like to thank everyone who took the time and trouble to send their objection. The application is expected to be discussed at a Plans Committee Meeting at the end of January. saverothley@gmail.com - www.saverothley.co.uk Best wishes,

ROTHLEY PARK ANNUAL PRIZE PRESENTATIONS Congratulations to all the 2014 trophy and prize winners at Rothley Park Golf Club. Competitions are played throughout the golfing season and are presented at two evenings in November and December. Many of the trophies are steeped in history with engraved winners’ names going back nearly 100 years. The prestigious trophies, shields and plates have been donated by past Presidents and Captains and regarded members who have served the club for many years. Winners of all ages and abilities came together for these special end of season events including juniors, seniors, ladies and gents. The Rothley Park has won two County titles in 2014, the Under 35 team won the County Team Championship and John Hardwick won the Gardiner Cup, an event for all past and current secretaries involved with Leicestershire County golf. Rothley Park Golf Club has over 600 members including one of the strongest ladies sections in the county and an enthusiastic and ever growing junior section. The club is delighted to welcome many new members who took up its Autumn Trial Membership Scheme and are now planning to become active 2015 season members.
