Community Liaison NET Phase Two

What’s next?

NET Phase Two, the project to build Lines Two and Three of Nottingham’s tram network, has been given final Government sign-off.

A detailed construction programme is now being prepared and the first phase of works will start in early January 2012.

So Tramlink Nottingham, our preferred bidder, has been awarded the contract to build and operate the extended network to Clifton via Wilford (Line Two) and Chilwell via Beeston (Line Three), and to take over the operation of NET Line One.

These will include putting up fencing around areas of construction, some felling of trees and clearing vegetation before spring, and moving utility services from out of the way of the tram routes. A three year construction period is proposed, with services on the new lines planned to start in late 2014.

About Tramlink Nottingham Tramlink Nottingham is made up of a group of companies that includes Wellglade which owns local bus operator Trent Barton. Other companies involved in Tramlink are Alstom, Keolis, Taylor Woodrow (VINCI Construction UK), OFI Infravia and Meridiam Infrastructure.

Keeping you informed We will contact you to give you advance notice of when construction works are due to take place near you. People/organisations with an interest in land and property which could be required for Lines Two and Three were formally notified in 2007 in the lead up to the public inquiry. Land will be taken as and when it is needed for the works and those affected will be informed in plenty of time about when and the extent of the landtake, and the formal processes involved.

There will be a Community Liaison Officer for each of the two lines, who will visit affected residents, businesses and organisations to ensure they are kept informed about the works. This will help to ensure that any potential disruption is effectively managed.
