Nottingham’s two new tram lines – keeping you informed

Who is Tramlink Nottingham?

Following Government confirmation earlier in the year that funding would be made available to extend Nottingham’s tram network, the NET Phase Two project is moving forward. Although further negotiations are still required and final funding details need to be approved by both Nottingham City Council and the Government, it is expected that a contract to build lines two and three (NET Phase Two) will be signed with the preferred bidder (Tramlink Nottingham) in the autumn. Construction work could therefore start on some parts of the new tram lines (to Clifton and Chilwell) by the end of the year.

Keeping you informed Once the NET Phase Two contract has been awarded we intend to regularly update people along the route about construction activity. Affected residents, businesses and organisations will be kept fully informed as the project progresses to help them plan accordingly to ensure that any potential disruption arising from future construction activity is effectively managed. People with an interest in land which could be required for NET Phase Two were formally notified in 2007 in the lead up to the public inquiry. Land will be taken as and when it is needed in advance of construction on each section of the two new lines. Those affected will be informed in plenty of time about the timing and extent of the landtake, and the formal processes involved. Project information will be made available through our website and in many other forms including regular newsletters.

Local neighbourhood liaison groups It is planned to set up local neighbourhood liaison groups along the routes of the two new tram lines to help keep stakeholders informed about the design and construction process. Local residents and businesses will be invited to register their interest in participating in these groups during the autumn.
