ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL There are five cathedrals that have stood on the site. The purpose of the Cathedral is for people to pray to God. The cathedral belongs to the Church of England. It can be found in London.

Inside St Pauls cathedral on the cathedral floor there is the Wellingtons monument! The four gunpowder plotters were executed in one of the former cathedrals! The wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles (the Prince of Wales) was held at St Pauls cathedral!
The Bells HOW MANY BELLS ARE AT AT ST PAULS CATHEDRAL?
*There are twelve bells in the north west tower. *St Pauls has the second largest rings of bells in the world. The smallest bell, known as the treble, weighs just over 8 hundredweights. The largest bell, known as the Tenor, weighs over 3 tons (61cwt).
The Dome
St Paul's is built in the shape of a cross, with a large dome. At 111.3 metres high, the dome is one of the largest cathedral domes in the world. It weighs about 65,000 tons. The area under the dome is the place for worship in the cathedral. St Paul's has three-domes.

The Organs •On the 19th December 1694 a contract was signed with the famous organ builder from Germany, Bernard Smith, to give an organ for the new cathedral. • The pedals were added to the organ around 1721, they only could play the low notes because of the pedals that Bernard had fixed in. The organ was not finished until the 19th century. •In 1872 Henry Willis completed a new instrument for the cathedral. • Father Willis made changes to the organ in 1897 and 1900. •There are two other organs in the cathedral that are regularly used.
