Foundation For our work during International Education week, we looked at Blackpool Tower, as it linked with our topic on colour. The children looked at photographs and video clips of Blackpool lights and the tower. We discussed the shapes we could see in the tower and built our own towers. The children also thought about size language and compared heights by measuring themselves on a Blackpool Tower height chart.
Blackpool Tower Blackpool Tower was designed to look like the Eiffel Tower in Paris; it opened in 1894 and is 158m high. Blackpool Tower is very popular with tourists, it has more that 2 million visitors each year.
Blackpool Tower has a circus, a ballroom, an aquarium and many more attractions. Many people visit just to take the lift or climb to the top and look at the view!
