Comenius Project Meeting – Colegio Novaschool Añoreta - Rincón de la Victoria (Málaga), Spain
Wednesday 21st – Sunday 25th March 2012
Representing St Paul’s CE Primary School, Nuneaton, UK Mrs Carolyn Ames, Mr Chris Plant, Mr Graham Longdon, Miss Kelly Turner Wednesday 5th October Arrival day. Travelling from East Airport Midlands Airport, UK , we arrived at Malaga Airport and took a taxi to Hotel Cala Bahia, La Cala, Rincon de la Victoria We had the opportunity to take lunch at a traditional Spanish Tapas bar and sample some traditional local food. Also opportunity to visit the surrounding area.
Thursday 22nd March We were welcomed to the school and met delegates from all partner schools, including a group of students from Instituto Comprensivo Castell ‘Umberto, Sicily, Italy Following breakfast, we were given a tour of the school and an opportunity to find out more about the education and administration in the school. We then had the opportunity to spend time in classrooms and talk with children. The buildings and facilities at the school were impressive, as was the standard of English spoken by the students.

At the welcome assembly, visitors were welcomed to the school by the principal and representatives from each of the visiting partner schools gave a short presentation of pictures and information about their own school. Students from Colegio Novaschool A単oreta gave presentations and a group of children performed a traditional Flamenco Dance.
We had a further opportunity to visit classrooms and then joined students for lunch in the school dining room. Free time in the afternoon enabled us to experience local shopping and time for relaxation. Evening we were joined by two staff from Colegio Novaschool A単oreta who took us to Malaga for a traditional Spanish meal followed by a football match at Malaga CF. Malaga CF played Rayo Vallecano, winning 4-2.

Friday 7th October Arrival in school and further opportunity to visit classrooms, talk to classes and individual children. This was also a good opportunity to meet and engage in conversation with colleagues from partner schools. Project planning meeting- see agenda and minutes of meeting.
Return to La Cala for lunch at a local restaurant. Evening: Visit with staff from Colegio Novaschool A単oreta to local place of interest, the historic town of Rigilliana. Followed by a group meal at a local restaurant.
Saturday 8th October Visit to Malaga. Opportunity to visit Malaga Cathedral and the Shroud of Turin exhibition. Return to the residence in Rincon de la Victoria for a Paella cook-off and opportunity to socialuse, for the final time with colleagues from all partner schools and the students from Sicily.

Sunday 9th October. Departure day. Our sincerest thanks go to our friends and colleagues at Colegio Novaschool A単oreta for organising such a very interesting and enjoyable visit. Thank-you all for your friendship, for such a warm welcome all that you did to make the visit so memorable. We look forward to continuing our collaborative work with you in the future.
