Year 4 Roman Feast
As part of our Roman topic, the whole year group participated in a Roman feast. We made laurel wreath headdresses and got dressed up. We tried lots of different types of food which they would have eaten in Roman times. We really enjoyed the experience. As I walked into the hall, I could see all of the juicy grapes standing before me, telling me to eat them, I couldn’t resist not taking a couple. I could hear the wonderful sound of music in the background, it made me feel lovely and calm, just ready to drift off to sleep; it was too nice. I could smell all the different foods; olives, cheese and all of the rest. Although I wasn’t onto the tasting part yet, I could smell all of the food, that made me taste them, they were so strong. When it was finally the tasting part, I had been waiting all day for this, I tried all the foods which were; salami, ham, mozzarella cheese, hard cheese, blue cheese, tomato bread, ciabatta bread, olives, sun dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and wonderful grapes.
