CFN Community Impact
Thanks to your support, the Community Foundation for Nantucket continues its work to strengthen our community - now and for future generations.
In 2022, we:
• Awardedover $300,000 in annual Nantucket Fund grants to 27 different island nonprofits,thelargest amountinFoundationhistoryand $1.85 million in Federal Food Insecurity Grants,andcontinuetowork withcommunitypartnerstoaddressislandfoodinsecurity.
• Receivedover $2.5 million in donations for our 33 different community Field of Interest funds toaddress communityconcerns.
• Awardedover $80,000 to local scholars via CFN Scholarship Funds.
• Broughttogethereldercareserviceprovidersto discuss collaborative ways to streamline access to care, identifying gaps in care, and strengthening collective efforts.
• Establishedaspecializedfundtoprovide free coaching hours toNantucketnonprofitstoincrease organizational excellence.
• Utilizedourknowledgeastheisland's trusted nonprofit resource andcreatedseveralnew Donor Advised Funds foratotalof43heldatCFN.
On-going initiatives include:
• Convening our CFN Advisory Committee - agroupofover 50 island thought leaders -annuallytohelpidentifythe island'smostcriticalneedstoinformCFNgrantmaking.
• Activelybuildingthe Nantucket Fund toensurea permanent legacy of flexible resources toaddress ourisland'schangingneedsandemergingissues.
• Convening severaltimespermonthwithNantucketCottageHospital,FairwindsCounselingCenter,Nantucket PublicSchools,TownofNantucketDepartmentofHumanServices&theNational AllianceonMentalIllness(NAMI)tocollaborateanddiscusshowbesttodeliveraninclusiveand interconnected mental and behavioral health system of prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery to ensure our community gets and stays well.

CFN is proud to support the Elder Services for the Cape and Islands Meals on Wheels program via a Nantucket Fund grant. Meals on Wheels provides over 10,000 meals annually to our community!
With a Nantucket Fund Grant, the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club provided staff Spanish language instruction to allow staff members to engage more meaningfully with the 1,200+ members who attend the Club. Being able to exchange pleasantries and converse in a member’s native language shows respect for others.
Housing Nantucket houses over 105 Nantucket residents, including 47 island children, in their affordable rental units. With a Nantucket Fund grant, Housing Nantucket provided rehabilitation and maintenance services at these properties, benefiting low- and moderate-income year-round residents of Nantucket.
