Message from the Convention Chair Welcome to the newly rebranded Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants (BAR) at NRA Show and the 96th annual National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show.® After seven years of operating as the International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event (IWSB), we decided it was time for a change. Time to match the memorability of the event itself. We selected a name that is simple to recognize as an acronym, and perfectly descriptive in full. I’m delighted to Chair this newly rebranded event. In addition to the rebrand, 2015 marks the first time that BAR shares contiguous space with NRA Show. With NRA Show moving into Lakeside Center and BAR being held in Lakeside Ballroom, these two events have finally melded into one overall experience. To mark these occasions, we have upped the ante on BAR in another way. I am pleased to announce the first ever BAR at NRA Show Keynote Presentation by Sally Smith, CEO of Buffalo Wild Wings, a fellow NRA Board member and visionary with regard to the development and funding of a progressive, brand-defining bar program. We also changed up the annual Star of the Bar® mixology competition. This year we selected our six semi-finalists via live market challenges in six major U.S. cities—Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, San Diego and San Francisco. One representative from each of these progressive mixology communities is here to vie for the title and $5000 prize. You will have the opportunity to sample their cocktails and select the three finalists that battle live at Sunday night’s Restaurants Rock at House of Blues. If you don’t have your tickets yet, check the registration area to see if there is space remaining. Of course your BAR at NRA Show badge includes full access to all four days of NRA Show, where 2,000+ exhibitors, 80+ educations session, culinary demonstrations and hands-on workshops provide inspiration to enhance your overall bar program. In the South Building, the last two numbers in the designation are in sequence 01-25. In the North Building, the last two numbers in the designation are in sequence 26-49. And in the Lakeside Center, the last two numbers in the designation are in sequence 50-54. For example, the Press Center designation is N226; therefore N indicates it is located in the North Building, 2 indicates it is on level 2, and 26 indicates it is located in the 26-49 room number sequence. There are no duplicate room numbers or designations.
