NUTRITIONAL SCIENCES MINOR CHECKLIST MINOR INFORMATION: • If you're passionate about nutrition but not sure if the nutrition majors are right for you, consider the minor! A nutrition minor may complement your major and increase your skill set. It also gives you a competitive edge in the job market, since nutrition is relevant to many different careers, including nursing, pharmacy, medicine, and other healthcare fields.
REQUIRED INTRODUCTORY COURSE (complete three (3) units) : NSC 101 or NSC 170C1 - Introduction to Human Nutrition (3 units)
MINOR REQUIREMENTS: • Complete eighteen (18) units • Nine (9) units of the eighteen must be upper division (300-499 level) • NSC 101 or NSC 170C1 is a recommended first course and is a pre-requisite to the nutrition elective courses

MINOR POLICIES: • For students who matriculated prior to Spring 2022, per the general education policy, NSC 170C1 may only satisfy one requirement, the Tier I Natural Sciences or Intro to Human Nutrition requirement. If you choose to use NSC 170C1 towards your Tier I Natural Sciences requirement, you will need to take another nutrition elective in its place to reach the required minor units.

SPORTS NUTRITION MINOR CHECKLIST
MINOR INFORMATION: • If you're interested in the growing field of sports nutrition, this minor is a great place to start! Adding the sports nutrition minor gives you a competitive edge in today's job market, whether you want to pursue a career in the field or as an additional set of skills to complement your other studies. Experience with sports nutrition is relevant to many different careers, including dietetics, strength conditioning coaching, professional training, tactical strength & conditioning, physical activity research and education, and athletic coaching at all levels. WEIGHT INCLUSIVE HEALTH MINOR CHECKLIST
MINOR INFORMATION: • The Weight Inclusive minor will provide you with an overview of the frameworks available to provide weight inclusive care to individuals across the lifespan. Weight-inclusive care focuses on non–weight-based markers of health and wellness and doesn’t use body weight as the focal point of treatment for intervention. Courses introduce and delve into weight stigma, health at every size (HAES®), non-diet approaches, and counseling techniques needed to ethically work with individuals in the healthcare settings. These topics will improve your awareness of challenges faced in the healthcare field and will provide additional techniques that are useful for pursuing employment opportunities that focus on wellness and the prevention of maladaptive eating patterns, and other stress impacting chronic conditions.
