The word duende is used to describe music that moves both body and soul. Guitarist Doug Towle has tapped into this dark magnetic energy which springs up from the earth through the souls of your feet. Doug’s new CD “Desire, Heat & Spirit was released in the fall of 2009 and continues to win new fans all over, with its unique blend of world music and Spanish guitar, jazz-infused rumba and flamenco with a dash of modern world beat. Doug’s music has been a hit with people of all ages and walks of life and is sure to please anyone who experiences one of his dynamic performances.

These musicians deliver the passion, love and respect they feel for México and its culture and maintain and promote the beauty of Mexico through its traditional and uplifting music.

This chamber ensemble is comprised of members of The National Youth Orchestra of Canada (NYOC). NYOC is Canada’s leading training organization for aspiring young orchestral musicians. Selecting only the most gifted musicians from across the country, the NYOC provides world-class training to prepare them for life as professional musicians and beyond. The brainchild of noted conductor Walter Susskind, who believed that a training orchestra for outstanding young Canadian musical talent was essential, the NYOC was formed in the summer of 1960.
