Learn about the boom days of the late 1800’s on the way into the richest Silver Mining District in the world.
Along the way, view beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene with its worldclass Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course. Tour the Cataldo Mission, the oldest building in the State of Idaho, built by the Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe and Jesuit Missionaries in 1853. Then visit the Oasis Bordello Museum in Wallace where the occupants hastily left town leaving personal items, furnishings, food in the cupboards, and even the groceries still in a grocery bag on the kitchen counter. It has remained as they left it and is now a museum. Enjoy lunch in Wallace before heading out to the Sprag Pole Bar & Museum, which showcases the golden age of mining in Murray, Idaho in the 1800’s.

Home to the nation’s richest crops of wheat, barley, lentils, and chickpeas. Time
Explore the picturesque—a photographer’s paradise. Begin your journey with a trip to Steptoe Butte, where the viewpoint offers a stunning patchwork quilt of fields. Learn about the area’s history, including the 1858 battle that secured safe passage for settlers and the man for whom the butte is named, Cashup Davis, who once built a hotel atop it. Next, enjoy lunch at Washington State University, the only U.S. university where meals are based on locally sourced ingredients. Afterward, meet with WSU’s Agricultural Department for a hands-on lesson on wheat production and cross-pollination in the Palouse. Visit Ferdinand’s Creamery to learn how Cougar Gold Cheese is made, taste the curd, and indulge in their ice cream. On the return trip to Spokane, stop at a local farm to hear about the wheat-growing process in detail.

Travel through Eastern Washington’s rich farm country on the way to Grand Coulee Dam.
Along the way, learn about the Ice Age Flood and see its path with the rolling hills of the Palouse; once a river bed and the Channeled Scablands; a great example of how the Great Flood carved its’ way toward the Pacific Ocean. At Grand Coulee Dam, start with a tour of the Visitor Center then drive over the top of the dam and tour inside. After lunch in Grand Coulee, travel to the amazing Dry Falls, the skeleton remains of the Great Flood and one of the greatest waterfalls in geological history. By comparison, Niagara Falls would be dwarfed by Dry Falls.

Boat ride on the Snake River
The trip will take you into Hell’s Canyon, the deepest gorge in the United States, deeper than the Grand Canyon! Along the way, see ancient petroglyphs left by the Native Americans who lived in the canyon hundreds of years ago. There’s also a good view of the layers of basalt with interesting rock formations made by the lava floods that covered eastern Washington millions of years ago and an area where prospectors tried to mine limestone years ago. Look for great blue heron, ducks, deer and big horn sheep. The boat goes right over the top of rapids often passing rafters coming down the river. There are intermittent stops along the way including a continental breakfast, boxed lunch stop and historical walking tour at Kirkwood Ranch and Museum. Return to Spokane in the evening.

Begin with a trip to the Clark Fork River for an exciting rafting experience, navigating 4-6 class III-IV rapids, with swimming holes, rock jumping, and a “hot spring” along the way. Afterward, head to Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort for an overnight stay, where you can relax in the resort’s natural hot springs pools. Dinner is on your own at the Hardwood House Restaurant.

Glacier National Park offers a scenic and historic unforgettable journey.
Day 1 begins with a visit to Old Mission State Park, followed by a stop in Wallace, ID, for shopping and lunch then travelling to our hotel in Kalispell.
On Day 2, Glacier beckons, and the park’s West Entrance is now less than an hour away. Once in the Apgar area of the park, guests will board a Red Bus. These open-air buses, also known as ‘jammers,’ takes guests up and over Logan Pass along the Going to the Sun Road, a narrow yet scenic roadway that divides the west and east sides of the park. After time to enjoy the summit, the ride continues east to St. Mary Lake for a cruise on this scenic 10-mile-long body of water.
