About the Author: Burçin Hasanbaşoğlu was born in Borsele, Holland. She has 17 years' experience in ELT, at BUSEL and METU. She received her B.A. degree from ELT Department at METU and M.A. degree in TEFL from Bilkent University. She has worked as an English instructor, textbook writer, syllabus designer, teacher trainer and advisor to the chairperson. She has special interest in teacher training and materials development. She holds training sessions at METU and throughout Turkey. She gives conference talks in national and international conferences. She coauthored Academic English: Survival Skills I and The Compass: Route to Academic English I, which have been used at METU and some other universities in Turkey. She is also the writer of The Activist, which is a teacher training book.
