NUBC 50th Anniversary Dinner 2011 As you may be aware, 2011 is the 50th year of Newcastle University Boat Club's existence. In order to mark the occasion, the current executive is planning to host a celebratory dinner later in the year. The last Saturday of August is currently the proposed date, although this may be subject to change. It is our hope that the dinner will bring together various alumni from across the generations to share their memories and experiences of NUBC.

We would like to begin organising the dinner as early as possible, and we are hoping for some assistance from earlier generations of rowers. If you are able to contribute to the night in any way, please let me know (annelise.bissett@gmail.com). Things that we may need help with include: o Event organisation: the executive plans to delegate the organisation of the event to a dedicated committee, consisting of existing and alumni members. Their responsibilities will include: venue selection, catering, MC-ing etc. o Suggestions for guest speakers. o Compilation of stories, anecdotes, general history, photos etc o Any other ideas and suggestions you have for the night. o Spreading the word! If you know of alumni who may not be on our mailing list, please forward this information to them. We would love to see as many alumni volunteer as possible. We will be using the newsletter to keep subscribers up to date with preparations for the event.
