Not just better vision — a better quality of life. Vision correction procedures can do more than improve your vision, they can enhance your life. Imagine having the ability to jog on a windy day, see your alarm clock when you wake up in the morning or enjoy a movie from the back row of a theater without the hassle of glasses or contacts.
Drs. Sutton, Linder, Sutton, and Rixen and our team of highly trained professionals are committed to maximizing the visual potential of our patients. We provide the latest technology, an educated, caring staff and a genuine concern for each patient.
CONDITIONS OF THE EYE
Your vision is clear
The Normal Eye The eye’s surface is convex, and light rays that hit it bend toward its center. In an eye with a normally curved cornea and the correct shape, an image focuses exactly on the retina.
You can see at a distance
Farsightedness (Hyperopia) When the eyeball is too short, light rays entering the eye focus behind the retina. Both distance and near objects may be out of focus.
Your vision is blurry
Astigmatism Vision becomes distorted when the surface of the cornea has an uneven curvature. Sometimes, it is the eye’s lens that is irregularly shaped. Astigmatism causes light to focus in more than one spot, leading to blurred vision.
You can focus up close
Nearsightedness (Myopia) When the eyeball is too long, light rays focus in front of, rather than on, the retina. Under these circumstances, near objects are in focus, but distant objects are not.
Traditionally, the only treatments for these conditions were glasses and contacts. While these solutions are only temporary, LASIK truly changes your eyes, giving you enhanced vision for life.

LASIK AND ASA UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCES A TYPICAL LASIK PROCEDURE LASIK comprises three stages, detailed to the left. The entire process takes approximately 10 minutes per eye. Most people get back to their normal routine quickly; some even return to work the day after surgery. At Sutton Linder & Sutton, you'll experience a new level of safety, precision and personalization with the remarkable technology of wavefront-adjusted treatment The laser smoothes the cornea, allowing you the achieve better vision (10-20 sec.)
enhanced with all-laser iFS IntraLase®. For the LASIK procedure, Drs. Sutton, Linder, Sutton, and Rixen use the advanced Allegretto Wave® laser. This laser incorporates sophisticated Perfect Pulse Technology™ that scans the exact position of your eye 200 times each second. The laser's smart energy control system precisely calibrates the amount of laser energy that reaches your eye to achieve a rounder, more natural shape. These safeguards ensure greater accuracy and better results.
A TYPICAL ASA PROCEDURE Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA) is the preferred method for correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism in individuals with thin corneas A thin epithelial layer is removed
and certain other eye characteristics. ASA carries a lower risk of severe complication than LASIK. However, ASA requires a longer healing process and is more likely to cause discomfort or irritation in

the two to three days following surgery. As you can see, the differences between LASIK and ASA are relatively minor. The fundamental purpose of each procedure - to improve your visual acuity by reshaping the cornea - is the same. The final outcome of ASA has been proven as good as LASIK.
The epithelial layer begins healing within the first week
Like LASIK, ASA is performed on an outpatient basis. The actual treatment time for each eye is very brief, lasting no more than a few minutes.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
Ray White, Agricultural Pilot
As a Pilot, contact lenses weren’t working with dust and pollen, and trifocals were definitely not an option for me. The first time I flew after having LASIK, I couldn’t believe it. It was like having high definition vision. My new vision gives me a higher level of confidence while I am flying over fields. I’m really glad I trusted my eyes to Dr. Sutton.
We might be working on a car or we might be racing a car. The last thing we want to worry about is glasses or contacts. We’re twins and we do a lot of things together…including getting LASIK from Dr. Sutton. Thanks Dr. Sutton! Jessica MacKichan & Jennifer Ankerson Car Enthusiasts
I truly believe LASIK eye surgery helped improve my volleyball career. After LASIK, I was able to go overseas and play professional volleyball! Dani Mancuso-Helu Former NU Volleyball Player
ABOUT THEIR LASIK SURGERY
Rachel Erickson, Fitness Teacher
I have a really busy lifestyle, I’m always moving within my job so contacts and glasses held me back and slowed me down. Dr. Rixen could really explain to me what I was going to experience because he’s been a LASIK patient too. I cannot believe how LASIK has changed the quality of my life.
My contact lenses were a real hassle when I was out with the buffalo. Working on the ranch really keeps me busy, now I don’t have to worry about the hassles of contact lenses. Dr. Sutton and his staff treated me more like a family member than a patient, and I knew I had found the right place.
Dathan Peters, Buffalo Rancher
After years of dealing with glasses it was time for LASIK. Running a farm can be demanding, but now I don’t have to worry about keeping up with my glasses. Dr. Linder was friendly, knowledgeable, and he gave me a lot of confidence. Russell Hinds, Farmer
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: Does LASIK hurt? A: No. Numbing drops are applied to the eye, which allows LASIK to be performed without pain; however you may feel some pressure. The eye may be a bit scratchy after the procedure. Q: How long does the procedure take? A: After check-in and pre-operative preparations, LASIK with IntraLase® may take about 2 hours. However, the actual procedure only takes a few minutes. Q: What are my restrictions after LASIK? A: In order for the eye to heal properly, there may be restrictions with exercise, swimming, flying or use of makeup. Most people can return to work the day after the procedure. An eyeshield may be used for the first few days at night time. Most other activities may resume soon after the procedure. Q: Will I have to wear glasses after LASIK? A: This will depend on several factors, including your degree of refractive error and your visual needs. However, LASIK does not eliminate the need for reading glasses as you age. Q: How safe is LASIK? A: There is less than a 1% chance of serious complications. According to a 2008 USA Eyes survey, 99% of American LASIK patients report that their quality of life is as good as, or much better than expected after their vision correction surgery. Q: How affordable is LASIK? A: LASIK is very affordable, especially when you consider lifelong costs of glasses and contacts. Your time is also valuable – just think of how much time is spent taking care of glasses and contacts! We do offer financing options for our patients and you can also use healthcare flexible spending account funds on your LASIK procedure. The most common thing we hear from our patients after LASIK is “I wish I had done it sooner!”
