NOTES ●● As the sibling of the Siberian Forest Pullover, the Forest Edge Cowl features similar but slightly simpler colorwork motifs. ●● The cowl is worked seamlessly in the round from the bottom up. ●● It incorporates floral motifs in shifting scales, and decreases form a funnel shape for a comfortable fit. ●● The cowl begins with a Long Tail Cast On. ●● Single color rounds between stranded rounds are knitted stranded too with two strands of MC yarn. This method helps to keep even gauge and thickness of fabric. ●● The cowl is completed with Outline Stitch Bind Off that matches the Long Tail Cast On. ●● Abbreviations are provided at the end of the pattern.

STITCH PATTERNS 1x1 Ribbing (even number of stitches; 1-round repeat) Round 1: *k1, p1; repeat from * to the end of round. Repeat Round 1 for pattern.

CHART NOTES ●● There are three stranded knitting motifs: Trees and Ferns, Ferns and Flowers, Flowers and Leaves. ●● The stranded motifs involve rather long floats. It is recommended to trap them leaving floats no more than four stitches wide and placing traps so that there is at least one stitch column between trapped floats in consecutive rounds. The chart of each motif is given in two versions: with recommendations of places for traps and without them. ●● Switching from one color to the other, we either bring the new color over or under the old color. Yarn brought over (background yarn) will make tighter stitches. Yarn brought under (dominant yarn) will make looser stitches. The CC yarn should be dominant throughout all the stranded charts. ●●
