We cannot wait to see you in Nelson this August! There will be so much to see and do this year, so make the most of all the events on offer. This show is great value-for-money and an excellent opportunity to learn something new, and make plenty of new friends. Iris Awards Judging starts on Thursday 11th August 2022 at the Trafalgar Centre in Nelson, at 8am. Remember to bring something warm, because it can take an hour or two to warm up in the arena! It is free to come and watch the live judging. We have three rooms running this year, and you can wander in and out throughout the day. In between categories, make sure you take some time to look through the awesome print exhibition. The exhibition will be added to as judging finishes of each category. It is a beautiful display and well worth taking the time to look at the different printing methods and options that photographers choose to present their work. Live judging will continue on Friday and Saturday in the arena. Check the board at the front of the venue each day for the evening social event. We’ll have meet up points for everyone to gather and socialise after judging. Everyone is invited to these so please do come along! Saturday night is our traditional Iris Awards Wrap Party - a great celebration to the end of judging, thanks to Iris Awards Major Sponsor Sony who will be hosting the event in the Trafalgar Centre Trade Area. Everyone is welcome. The New Zealand Photography Show, in partnership with Canon begins at 9.00am on Sunday and runs through until 4.00pm on Monday evening. Be sure to stick around on Sunday evening for the hugely popular trade event from 5.00pm - 7.00pm, and get your ticket from the Ilford Stand to the film premier of In Pursuit of Giants - the story of 9 photographers who travelled into the Southern Alps in pursuit of an elusive legendary giant; showing at the Suter Art Gallery at 8.00pm sharp on Sunday evening. Following the close of the New Zealand Photography Show is the Gala Dinner event, in partnership with CRK and Ilford. This black tie event is the highlight of the week with the announcement of Iris Awards category winners, NZIPP Distinctions, NZIPP Honours Awards and the winners of International, Australian and New Zealand Photographer of the Year titles. We’ve secured a venue for this years after party, which will carry the celebrations through the night. We really hope you’ll join us!

Meet the Team at the Trade Stand Bernie Shore has been a member of the Fujifilm New Zealand Team for the past 5 years, currently the Electronic Imaging Sales and Training Manager. During his time at Fujifilm NZ he has specialised in all things imaging; from X-Series and GFX (digital cameras) to Negative Film, Printing and Instax. Bernie has come to us after working as a Professional Photographer and Videographer in Adelaide, Australia in both the Film and Digital space. With a Diploma of Photoimaging and Videography under his belt he truly loves both the printed and moving art form that is photography and video production. Recently, Bernie has moved to Wanaka to dive back into his first love, Landscape Photography, he isn’t just a fan of photographing the mountains but also a passionate skier. As an ex-member of the AIPP he gets a real buzz from attending events like the NZIPP as seeing the beauty of a print in-person and networking with fellow passionate photographers keeps him motivated and inspired. Samuel Bingham is our electronic imaging specialist. Starting out with Photo Warehouse and working amongst the retail space he was exposed to a variety of photographers and techniques alike. As his skills developed, Bingham started undertaking a lot more freelance work where he really pushed his video experience. Now focusing on sales and training, he is often on the road chatting to our retail partners bringing them up to speed on our X & GFX products. In his spare time Bingham has gone back to the roots of photography and predominantly shoots 120mm film. Film has forced him to be selective when shooting, pushing that creative eye further than before. A personal project that Bingham is focusing on at the moment looks at traditional postcards shot around New Zealand where he will go and imitate the original shot to compare and contrast changes in the surrounding environment. A testament to times past. Come and chat to Bingham at the NZIPP trade show this year about all things photography, I’m sure he will love the yarns.
