ISSUE 4 | June 2019
JUNE 2019 On Wednesday 26th of June we had our annual Auckland Secondary Schools’ Peace Symposium. 132 secondary students from 14 different schools came together for a full day of listening to inspiring speakers and discussion on this year’s topic: Peace & Technology. Workshops, discussions and photo opportunities were all provided for by The Peace Foundation and our partners. The students provided amazing insights, motivation and ideas which will contribute to Youth Peace Week (4th-10th August). Check out the photos and student comments below!
“Peace Symposium is a place where you meet new people and learn not only from the best people but also from your peers and friends you make on that day.”

“I had a really great day and it was really well organised. It was a great way to meet students from other schools and the talks were amazing. “ - Student
“I would recommend the symposium to other schools/ students as our generation today tend to forget what is going on around the world. It's a really great for people to start discussions and start thinking about things. It challenges us to think and discuss our different perspectives/ point of views/opinions in different aspects whether it be in society or globally. This widens our knowledge, perspective, and or point of views. Letting us grow in terms of knowledge and as better individuals. “ - Student
