Join Bryony for a journey into the brilliant sun-soaked palette of a French market town. Sunflowers, figs, roses, aubergines and all the colour and texture at your paint brush’s tip. Paint a basket of roses, lilies or pears. Bryony will take you from the first pencil stroke to the finishing touches of a bright and luscious painting. Beginners most welcome. Come and paint and brighten your day with the colours of spring and summer in the south of France. Please bring a $10 fee to the instructor for flowers. Supplies required. Neuland is an upper-case font designed by German type artist Rudolph Koch in the early 1900s. It was meant to be black and bold and squat and chunky however in this workshop we will explore many variations to liven up its dense appearance. Beginning with the basic alphabet with a black calligraphy felt pen Kathy will demonstrate ways to add colour with a variety of writing tools and watercolours. Neuland can be combined with other calligraphy and handwritten styles. It’s suitable for text in paintings, greeting cards, addressing mail, labels, signage, and more! Please bring a pencil, ruler, and blank sheets of paper, and $10 for two pens and instruction kit.

This workshop will teach the basics of quilling-the art of paper filigree. It involves rolling strips of paper into different shapes and combining them to make flowers and leaves etc. which we will then use to make a greeting card. Basic supplies will be provided. A small pair of embroidery scissors and needle-nose tweezers would be useful if you have them. Please bring $10 for supplies.
