What do I need? Three GCSEs at Grade 2/E.

What will I learn? l Introduction to materials, processes and skills l Introduction to contextual research l Solving 2D and 3D creative problems l Solving time-based creative problems

What can I do next? Upon completion of this course, you can progress into employment or onto the UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design. If you enjoy learning about art and design and working with a wide range of materials, then this is the course for you.

What do I need? Three GCSEs at Grade 3/D or above, including Art, or a UAL Level 1 Diploma in Art, Design and Media or other related Level 1 qualification. You must bring some artwork to your interview in the form of a sketchbook, design boards or photographic evidence of work.

UAL L3 Diploma/ Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Graphic Design

Are you an artistic individual with a creative flair in designing attention-grabbing and thoughtprovoking graphics? This two-year course teaches students about the changing and challenging field of graphic design.

What do I need? You will need four GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, preferably including English, Maths an Art based subject and/or a Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design. You must bring some artwork to your interview in the form of a sketchbook, design boards or photographic evidence of work.

What will I learn? You will be taught how to generate contemporary graphics using industry standard software. Topics include: l Motion graphics l Packaging l Typeface design l Advertising l Photography l Print design Graphic Design students are regularly entered in to national competitions ranging from photography to advertising and more.

What can I do next? Progress to higher education or into employment. Previous students now work in graphic design, film and TV graphics, corporate identity, illustration, new media routes, user experience design and creative advertising.

This course is designed to take you through the creative processes of the range of practices within Multimedia Design and Animation. Projects can range from, Illustration, animation, model making, storytelling, script writing, comic books and much more. Using the latest industry standard software for 2D & 3D animation and video editing, you will explore your creative side in exciting and dynamic ways.

Do you have a love of fashion and an appreciation of designers’ work? This stimulating course will equip you with a broad range of skills relevant to fashion and associated industries.

What will I learn? l Digital pattern cutting l Textiles l Garment construction l CAD l Photography and video shoots l Creating a portfolio

What can I do next? This course provides you with an excellent launch pad to further your studies onto a range of Degree and HND courses including: Fashion Design, Textiles, Costume Design and Fashion Business.

The highlight of the course is when students create a mini collection supported with research for their final major project which is shown at the end of the year show.

UAL L3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Photography

Photography is an art of observation, so having the knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals to good image capturing is key for a career in the industry. This course provides you with camera skills, photoshop techniques, experience with industry standard equipment and a blank canvas to channel your creativity.

UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design

What do I need? You will need a minimum of one art based A Level or an Extended Diploma with accompanying four GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, as well as a portfolio of artwork as evidence for your interview process.

What can I do next? The traditional progression from a Foundation Diploma is to an HE programme at university. Students studying this course have previously progressed to HE institutes such as Central St. Martins, Brighton and Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art.
